Found the following yesterday in LA:

    T-6 $30
    Anakin Podracer $45
    Mobile police $21
    Space Center $35
    SW watch $11
    Log Cabin $15
    Bounty Hunter ship $25

But no Falcon or clone tank or QAR. Where can I find some on sale in LA?

I finally found Hagrid's Hut. $19. In the end I picked up an AQ tripod for $13 and Escape from Dragon Knight Prison for $9.90. None of the Milenium Falcons were on sale. I was at 4 different Walmarts. That really may be a fluke. All the employees I spoke with didn't think it would be selling that low being that is still part of the plan for the aisle. Also didn't see any Grievous or Bounty Hunter ships on sale anywhere. The comments above are correct. There are some items that seem to be consistently on sale at each store I visited but others are either behind on going through inventory or are just clearancing differently.

My advice if you have the time and energy is to try to visit as many different stores as possible to get what you want.

I've only been to two today. At the first nothing new was marked on sale so I picked up a set and went to find the scanner. I got my answer when I saw the pile of PotC and AC sets left by the scanner by a disappointed LEGO fan.

So, which one of you was it? :)

    I am done.
I grabbed Whitecap Bay and the Turbotank for 1/2 of each.
I was not sure about the Turbotank, since my son is only mildly interested in Star Wars, but I had a hard time passing it up.

I hit all 3 WM stores in the area and none of them had sets on clearance. Either that, or I was just too late.

Got lucky at a 2nd store today finding Log Cabin and AC Mothership...been holding off on those two hoping to get a good deal, so I'm happy with 50% off (even though I have a feeling the Mothership will be 50% off or more at [email protected] eventually).
  • oansunoansun Member Posts: 87
List of 50% off items I found in KY:
    SW T-6 Shuttle
    SW Bounty Hunter
    Alien Conquest Mothership
    Rescue Robot
    Dunebuggy
    Fire Pick Up

Picked them all up. None of the others listed were marked down, my walmarts don't usually have sales like this, our Lego's go QUICK, even at retail...
  • beabea Member Posts: 227
Stopped by my local walmart today and saw some employees marking down toys. I asked one to scan the Lighthouse Island (some people reported getting it for $19). He printed out a sticker with $39.99 and stuck it on the box. Sigh.

Stopped by my local Wal-Mart. The ONLY thing I found on sale was the XXL box for $15. They only had one. Here are 9 photos of the LEGO section:

Double check the "queen anne's revenge' shelf tag before getting too excited. I saw it but turned out to be Disney's toy set instead. Gut wrenching blow. Also saw Frigates and Millennium Falcons stacked on a shelf by a scanner, lol. I've wasted too much gas on this. Finding the deal is way better than building the set. Sorry for the useless post, I had a terrible day looking for more Lego sets.

Yeah, it's real hit-or-miss out there.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
I went to 3 more walmarts today, making a total of 4 in 2 days. Didn't find anything too good but did get
    AC mothership 50% off
    AC UFO Abduction for $21
    AC Alien Defender for $7
    and
    AC Tripod Invader for $10

I'm happy with that. But I guess now I have to complete the theme, seeing as how I already have the HQ set and Striker set, I only need the Jet-Copter Encounter

Anyone seen that on sale anywhere?
  • cloaked7cloaked7 Member Posts: 1,448
@yys4u they had some alien LEGO sets 30% at the Kroger Marketplace. Don't know if you have them where you live.

^^ The best I've seen for the Jet-Copter is 30% off at Wal-Mart.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
@cloaked7 Nope no Krogers in California I think.
@Sidersdd Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. Not sure if its worth driving further for more Walmarts. Already hit the ones closest to me, the others are a bit of a drive.

I wonder if the LEGO stores will ever discount them more... they have all the AC stuff at 10% off right now.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ All AC at 10%? Including the battle pack? My store is down to only the Mothership and the battlepack.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
@Sidersdd yup, haven't been there in a week though. Actually I don't know if the HQ set was there, I don't remember. And they didn't have the Striker set either. But Yea I definitely saw the rest, including the battle pack
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ Is that the San Diego store (I can't recall where you are)?
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Yea it's the San Diego store in Fashion Valley mall

Found enough to spend $340 this week:
    AC Mothership
    Creator Log Cabin x 2
    Poice Mobile Command 3
SW Bounty Hunter Ship x 3
    AC Alien Defender x2
SW Darth Maul ship x 1
    Police Prisoner Transport x 1
    Hagrid's Hut x 3

Also found SW Advent Calendar at Target for $6 and the small Creator $20 truck/car transport set for $2.50!

Great week for deals. I think I am done though for this week. Glad I was able to pick up some sets for friends.

WM is being blasted on their Facebook page by customers. One person summed it up pretty well - "they had all that hype and balloons all over the store and it was just for the same old stuff that had been marked down for weeks. nothing new, nothing worth getting. very disappointed". Also the Black Pearl is back up to $100 on walmart.com. A bit strange. But, I did snag 3 Cars Flo's V8 Cafe, got them for half of half, $15 ea. At my WM all clearance items were half off the clearance price during the special clearance day. Could be why SW LEGOS weren't marked down before the special clearance day, or maybe not. Not even employees seem to understand the clearance plan. One employee called the people at WM corporate idiots. Maybe a disgruntled employee? Or maybe a honest one? Who knows. Course, WM does silly things like - a store won't match a walmart.com price. Simply hilarious. I sort of understand, but really don't. It is the same fringing company! And, you may get an item at a lower price on walmart.com shipped to your store and if they have the item in the store they may just take it off that store's shelf. So, if I take it off the shelf it is one price, and if an employee does it is a different price. Stuff like that makes my head hurt. What kinda logic is being applied? Or, maybe it is like my workplace, it is a logic free zone. :-) Not slamming WM, all corporations do silly things. It is just that some things have me scratching my head and thinking out loud.

I had to drive about a hour and a half away for work today and on the way back I stopped at 5 different Walmarts. The discounts and inventory are very inconsistent at the locations. What I picked up:

    Millennium Falcon x2 - $69
    Log Cabin x2 - $15
    King's Carriage x2 - $20
    Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator - $35 (I left 1 on the shelf)
Hagrid's Hut - $20 (several left on the shelf)
Rise of the Sphinx - $17 (oddly enough, the rest of PQ at this store was full price)
    Wreath x15 - <$1
    Snowman x2 - <$1
    Series 6 CMFs x13 - $3

I also saw Alien Mothership, some Atlantis sets, and Mace Windu's ship for 50% off, but I passed on them.
  • jadeirenejadeirene Member Posts: 474
^^ None of the Walmarts I went to did 50% off already discounted prices. I would have loved to find Flo's V8 Cafe for $15.

Yeah, that 50% off on top doesn't apply to Lego. I asked a manager.

The AQ chopper is around for $19. Just check some other Walmarts.

My son and I built the AQ tripod and I ended up okaying building the HQ from the storage closet as well. We still have to build the rear section tomorrow morning. We had a ball playing. Felt like a kid again. The HQ is a really nice set.

Really tempted on the Mothership but I...must...resist...the sound brick.

The WM I went to tonight had Kingdom's Blacksmith shop for $4.90 (20), Star Wars zip bin carrying case $5.00, City Boat trailer $19.90, Star Wars advent calendars $19.90.

went to a walmart 10 min ago that had like 20 turbo tanks for 60 bucks. are they even worth it at that price.

but did see a fire station for 40 dollars thats normally 80 bought that. they also had about 25 general sumbody ships...for 25 dollars didnt know if it was worth it. Since i rarely buy sets unless 150 plus.... Since i know they almost always double in price

are you kidding me? i would of bought all that 20 turbo tanks and all 25 general sumbody ships! where was that? why did you pass it up?
  • intromissionintromission Member Posts: 197
If you're a reseller I would've thought you'd known that tank is a pretty safe bet. Plus, you only buy 150 plus sets but overlook one that's 120? You're still doubling your money even if you end up selling at the retail price.

I was tempted to buy these 4 slave 1's at 39 today and try my hand at this reselling thing just to recoup on money spent on LEGO since Christmas. Not so sure it's something I want to get into though. The Slave 1's seem to be selling for around 90 on ebay so that would work out well I guess.

Hi BMW, what store(s) did you find this at? You are in the Long Island area, right?
  • canuhandle23canuhandle23 Member Posts: 104
thanks for the heads up going to get the turbo tanks today then. Im in houston there are too many walmarts to count out here. Only reason I passed them up was because it was a clone wars tank. Didnt recognize the mini figs besides like 2 of them.

Yeah the tank is a safe bet so I will buy atleast 10 of them. The ones with the beat up bozes ill leave up there for others who want to build it asap

Just hit 2 local WMs. Got the AC Mothership (oddly enough not on sale at the 2nd store even though they were in the clearance aisle) for $30, AC Helicopter for $20, 4x T-6 shuttles for $30, Pod Race for $45 (full price at the 2nd store).

Will likely hit some more WMs tomorrow!
  • jtkauffjtkauff Member Posts: 15
I've hit up 5 Wal-Marts in the Columbus, OH area and basically found that past Cars very little was on clearance compared to what others have found. All Star Wars was still full price (found full-price Millennium Falcons at each place too, was really hoping to luck out there) as was all of the Alien Conquest. One store had a decent selection of Ninjago clearance but past that it was really just Cars, Lego Games and the odd random one-off set or two. Luckily my toddler loves Cars, and loves building Lego sets with Daddy, so it wasn't a total loss. My grabs were as follows:

    8486 Cars - Mack's Team Truck - $19.00
    8487 Cars - Flo's V8 Cafe - $29.00
    8639 Cars - Big Bentley Bust Out - $34.96
7286 City - Prisoner Transport - $9.00 (only one they had)
    7741 City - Police Helicopter - $5.00 (only one)
7307 PQ - Flying Mummy Attack - $7.50 (only one)

I was excited when I saw the Big Bentley Bust Out in a section that proudly proclaimed "Clearance Toys, $5-$20" but the manager wouldn't budge when it rang up $35. The area was clearly set up by an employee and had plenty of other sets that were $20+ (like Flo's and some of the Cars Duplo sets). No idea why they would take the time to mark each section with a specific price range and then completely not stick to it, especially since the section two shelves down was marked $15-$35.

Sadly, nothing but a big jones here and a lot of time and gas spent :(

I picked up Flo's V* Cafe for $30 today. The Millennium Falcon was ringing up full price.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Thinking about buying a vacation home east of the west coast. One cannot hardly even find the larger sets on the shelves, let alone on sale.
  • cloaked7cloaked7 Member Posts: 1,448
When to 5 WM's a little further from home. Found a couple of cars sets at the first WM. One 75% off, one 50% off. Found 3 of the T-6's for $30 at the last WM. The last WM was out of QAR, MF, CTT, and IF. Had the Bounty Hunter set, but it wasn't marked down. Slim pickings, but did find 3 gems. The other three WM's had 2-3 of each SW set I'm looking for, but none were marked down. Also, some things marked down at one WM were regular prices at WM's, and visa versa. There's no rhyme or reason to it that I can tell.

Stopped at a Walmart so DS could see about a Ninjago set that was marked up at Toy R Us and not in stock at Target. They had

    9484 Red’s Water Rescue at $10
    8487 Flo’s V8 Cafe at $30
8827 Series 6 at $1 (none left after us!) (We were there just as employees were putting out a cart with these marked down)

    Not a bad day....
  • OdinduskOdindusk Member Posts: 763
    series SIX at $1??
  • OdinduskOdindusk Member Posts: 763
Hit up one more Walmart today. There were some large SW sets there with retail prices of $50-$110 being marked down 50%, but still wasn't tempting enough for this non-SW collector.

Was thrilled to grab a $15 Log Cabin though.
  • CoolsplashCoolsplash Member Posts: 935
    Mainly which sets @Odindusk?
  • canuhandle23canuhandle23 Member Posts: 104
whew glad yall guys told me about the turbo tank there was 7 left bought the 5 good ones and then one with a beat up box the manager gave me 15 percent off of it.

Going to a walmart tonight where a friend told me he seen harry potter and pirate on sale
  • OdinduskOdindusk Member Posts: 763
    @Coolsplash

There was 1x Clone Turbo Tank that was beat to hell with suspect seals
    Sith Infiltrator (2x)
    Anakin/Sebulba's Podracers (5x or so)
    Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship (1x)

Those were all 50% off. They had a pile of Millennium Falcons that were the full $130.
  • cmrt1014cmrt1014 Member Posts: 396
    series SIX at $1??
Yeah - I had to ask to be sure - I wouldn't have thought they'd be clearing them out so soon. Don't know yet if they've all been picked over (but the packages look pretty pristine, and they are definitely not all the same "thickness") and I got enough that I should be able to get the set(s) I'm looking for.
  • darktremeredarktremere Member Posts: 42
I can't even get series 5 on clearance at any of the local Walmarts.
