Picked up an 8098 Clone Turbo Tank for $89, not sure if that's a good deal or not, but I figure they won't be around much longer so what the heck.
  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658
WM also has the 4645 Harbor for $59. The set is not very popular and I am not surprised it is on sale. http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-City-Harbor/16672269

I grabbed a Clone Turbo Tank for $89 as well today, I already built mine and didn't have an extra, but now i do!
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
@yys4u Only one store had "one" single pack at full price.
  • lulwutlulwut Member Posts: 417
Totally random pick up but I saw the City Passenger Airplane (3181) for $19 and couldn't resist. The box was pretty banged up and the seals were crooked and loose but it didn't look like it had been opened.

My local Wal-Mart moved a bunch of Lego to the clearance aisle this week including Series 5 minifigs and the stocking stuffer polybags from Christmas.

Funnily enough, most had the red clearance stickers on them with the RRP! In fact some of the sets that had been half price previously went back up in price! At least Target attempts some consistency. I just don't understand the Wal-Mart clearance process, and based on everyone's posts, I guess there really isn't much of a process at all.
  • jocappyjocappy Member Posts: 207
^ seeing series 5 with red tags at rrp too. Does WM ever go lower than 50%?
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
@jocappy they definitely do go lower, I've bought sets at 80% off in the past month or two. Ironically, they usually didn't have any red sticker or indication they were on sale and needed to be scanned to know they were discounted. While when I see the red sticker items they are usually full RRP. Go figure.
  • jocappyjocappy Member Posts: 207
    @BrickDancer I see thanks!

I went to a nearby Walmart today and the workers were there marking down the toys in the clearance aisle. They hadn't gotten to the LEGO yet, but I came back a couple of hours and a car accident later and picked up:

    Podracers $50
Whitecap Bay (in a very beat up box) $50
    Tripod Invader $15
    Series 5 CMFs $2 each

They're not the best prices I've seen on this thread, but better than I've found anywhere else in the area.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
I found the AC jetcopter for $30 at Walmart today, they had podracers for $63 and a Star Wars set that included the word Genosian (not a SW collector, can you tell?) for $21 that I think is usually $30. Not brilliant but I am now as complete as I'm going to be with AC.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
    ^^ normal prices
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
^ eh not really... Whitecap bay is 80 bucks. If @jadeirene just wanted it for the set that's a really good deal. I got mine at target for 60.

Another find today at a non-Supercenter Walmart:

    HP Knight bus $8
    5766 Log Cabin $10
    UFO Abduction $10
    Black Pearl $74
    General Grivious $35
    Bounty Hunter Assult $25
    Ultimate build Mater $15
    Republic Frigate $90

BTW, where is the best place to buy a seal box of minifigures any series?
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
@yys4u wasn't referring to rrp. The sale prices jenni mentioned are at most Walmarts I've been too.

@dk1007 Sure, get me feeling like I still need to make rounds :P
Btw, had you been to this Walmart previously and they finally did a clearance?
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
    Did you leave anything?
  • dk1007dk1007 Member Posts: 49
@gmpirate These are two new Walmart that's far away from my house in the South Bay area. I did leave some Alien sets that I didn't care too much for. One of the Walmart were only doing 25-30%, I think they will go lower next week.
  • parkerwilsonparkerwilson Member Posts: 142
Oddly one of my walmart's had the entire garden section full of clearance toys on Monday night, Tuesday morning everything had vanished as they had done a reset. I wonder what they did with all of it.
  • dk1007dk1007 Member Posts: 49
They probably moved them to the stock room

^^ They sell them to stores like Goodwill at a discounted price.
  • parkerwilsonparkerwilson Member Posts: 142
Hmm there is a non supercenter walmart about an hour from me in oklahoma, think it would be worth the drive to check it it, seems like thats where the super good deals are.
  • choob99choob99 Member Posts: 147
I'm hoping there is indeed going to be another discount on Feb 1st, I'll be out and about checking to see if there will be, many stores I've been to have been normal RRP just with a red sticker, i'm hoping they go at least 30% on the 1st
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 831
As I posted here last week...I've now been told twice from different Walmarts that they'll lower prices Feb. 1rst. One was a normal employee that mentioned toys will be clearanced again 50-70% on Feb. 1rst because they getting spring/yard stuff Feb. 20th. As you might have seen...most Walmarts have moved the toy clearance/X-mas leftovers into that area...so it'll have to go soon. And Friday I talked to 2 Walmart managers/big-wigs in suits and she told me that she hadn't been told how much stuff will be discounted but she thought 50-70% off. She said the best time to come in would be early in the a.m. like 8am because the nightshift works will reset the prices. I want to get to one of my local Walmars because they have 3 Star Wars Clone Turbo Tanks priced from $119 to $99 now.
  • choob99choob99 Member Posts: 147
@scotty12 I have been to 16 different stores in the past few weeks, but was about to grab a turbo tank at only one of them for $89
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
The computers automatically reset to the new clearance prices at 8? Or they just figure it "should" be ready by then but it could be earlier?
  • VorpalVorpal Member Posts: 11
Only item I found at reduced price at my local WM yesterday was the snow trooper battle pack. The rest of the older SW sets they still had in stock were ringing up full price. As were the holiday polybags (The wreath, etc)
  • dk1007dk1007 Member Posts: 49
Walmart.com now has all the modular in stock at retail price and the Robie house for $149. Looks like lego has a big shipment to Walmart.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ Note they call the "Fire Brigade" set "Fire Station" (in case anybody is searching for it).
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Can't believe someone still found some Snowtrooper Battle packs. Those were gone the 26th of December around here. I found one about a week ago that had already been opened, but that was it. All the parts appeared to be there so I still bought it ;)
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
@vorpal wow I too am surprised you found the snow trooper battle pack! That and Slave 1 was what I was frantically looking for after Christmas. I searched probably 7 store in 2 days and never found either of them :(
  • avoiceoreasonavoiceoreason Member Posts: 224
Found a snow trooper battle pack today as well. Also plenty of PQ, red box Ninjago, and even SW Advent Calendars. Picked up a QAR for $89 and found one random green baseplate that rang up for $3. They also had White Cap Bay for $59, but I passed.

Still haven't found a Wal-Mart yet that has the Bounty Hunter Gunship on sale like others have seen.

Yep, the wreath polybags were still ringing up at full price. Can't figure that one out.

Went into our Mountain View, Calif. Walmart and found on the shelf set 5512, The XL1600 box still sealed and in excellent condition. It scanned at half off at $15. Where the heck did it come from 2 months after Black Friday? On an earlier visit I saw the Duplo version also at $15 but it was also taped shut and the Bricks were loose inside.
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 363
Most likely either stashed in the back by an employee and found, or a return. I too found one of these a few weeks ago (for $15), and it it had a good bit of dust on the plastic top. The plastic band was still in one piece, so I figure everything is still inside.
  • VorpalVorpal Member Posts: 11
I feel like finding random things that 'shouldn't even still be there is half the fun.
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 Member Posts: 1,431
Now I have to go to Walmart just to see if they have any. Thanks guys! :-( LOL!
  • lulwutlulwut Member Posts: 417
Apparently walmart has been finding old stock. I found the passenger plane and just last night, the repair truck.
  • notyounotyou Member Posts: 2
So did any stores markdown yet? I checked a couple on my area on way to work and nothing has changed.
  • red237red237 Member Posts: 332
Haven't seen anything at 5 stores in massachusetts either!
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Well, went to 4 or 5 Walmarts tonight to see what's up. One had marked down a few more items than a little over a week ago but no more than 25% to 33%. Found one Police Headquarters at $60. The others showed no indication of anything happening tomorrow.

I will hit a few well-stocked stores tomorrow to see if indeed there are sales going on but it "felt" doubtful tonight.

Went to one out-of-the-way Walmart on Sunday morning where they were creating a whole isle of clearanced toys but except for one red Ninjago set and some small Cars set, the Legos were not included. The workers said they were getting it ready for Feb 1st.

Kinda glad too as I have property taxes due next month and I know I will have a bigger income tax bill than before. Time to sell a few Falcons :P
  • choob99choob99 Member Posts: 147
I'm hoping to hit a few stores this evening, some of the ones I had already been to had some lego left, so I'm hoping it all gets marked down
  • skherbeckskherbeck Member Posts: 33
I randomly check 4 different Walmarts on a regular basis... I've found the best clearance deals are in the "poorer" part of town (meaning lots of Lego at 50% off or more), whereas the findings are slim at the Walmarts in the more affluent parts of town. It seems you just have to get lucky and be there right when the items get put out... on one trip, they were just putting out a Here Factory set called "The Witch" (about 7 sets) for $11 (normally over $30) and SW Advent Calenders (about 10 sets) for $7; I put one Witch and 3 calendars in my cart and finished my shopping. I came back around one last time to the clearance aisle, and all of the above sets were gone! (I also found an Alien mothership for $11 and a London Escape for $25 on that same trip!)
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^^ True, but we're wondering what's going on "today". There's supposed to be some February clearance sale to ready fro spring. So far no one has reported anything :(
  • red237red237 Member Posts: 332
Called some other walmart toy departments today who claimed to know nothing of a feb 1 change, fyi....could be because of the cold climate here.
  • cloaked7cloaked7 Member Posts: 1,448
skherbeck, could "The Witch" have been "Witch Doctor"? If so, it is still selling on walmart.com and in my local WM for $30.00 Also, if anyone is interested, it is going for $25 and some change at amazon. A good price, especially when you consider free shipping, and possibly tax free.
  • dk1007dk1007 Member Posts: 49
@skherbeck Walmart in poor area is the key, but make sure you pack a six pack before you go. You never know what can happen with a cart full of expensive lego out at the parking lot! :-)
  • choob99choob99 Member Posts: 147
I just got back from my local walmart and the toy prices have not been changed there, I haven't made it to the others yet, but I may try to call before I make that trip, hoping that this Feb 1st thing isn't going to be just a regional thing
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
^ I think it is regional. Some of the Walmarts round here had already put in all the garden stuff last week or the week before. Of course it's also 60 degrees again today and my daffodils are blooming. However only about half of the ones round here had the toy clearance in the outdoor section, a lot had dedicated aisles close, but not in, the toy section.
  • mterr1mterr1 Member Posts: 14
Plenty in garden section but still RRP.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
I found Creationary for $17 in the games section. We didn't have it yet so I was happy.
  • red237red237 Member Posts: 332
Ok so discovered that today is the first day of Walmart's fiscal year. This means, while price changes may have happened automatically after Christmas, as of today, they will only happen via a hand held telzon at the shelf itself. At least, this is what i was told for the store I called, with a helpful toy pricing specialist. Hope this helps, yet still offers a lot of opportunity for returned trips and surprises.
