NIce find! My Wal-Mart rarely has much of anything in stock, so I'm not sure it's worth the trip over.

^^--- That is a nice haul and better prices than you are going to get at LEGO right now.

^--- Agreed, Walmarts are hit and miss. Id rather not set foot into a Walmart unless there is something guaranteed to be there (as most of the time it is not, OR it is but it is regularly priced)
  • choob99choob99 Member Posts: 147
Mine is usually bare shelves for lego all year round, so I'm not gonna subject myself to the crowd there!! lol
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,794
^-- exactly.. The parking lot of the one by me is such a hassle to get a space and then you have to weed your way through the crowds to get to the toy section and then.. BAM, no payoff, check the Clearance aisle, no go there either...
I think it is partly due to AFOLs in the area cleaning out anything that is a decent clearance before I could get there...
I just do not have the resources or time to be checking Walmarts every day for Clearance (which ultimately is probably better on the credit cards anyway)

I went to my local Walmart and picked up several sw advent calendars, they had a ton, but lots of damaged boxes.

After reading this post I went back but couldn't find any of those sets. Basically I had to price check one by one since the store was a zoo and the sets were all over the place...

Made it to my local Wal-Mart right after opening. Picked up the following sets at 50% off:

    Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter
Snowtrooper Battlepack (they also had the Rebel trooper, but I passed on those)
    Escape From Dragon's Prison (Kingdom's)
    King's Carriage Ambush (Kingdom's)
    Scorpion Pyramid
    Slave 1
    Mill Village Raid

They also had Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars Advent Calendar, and the small HP Dobby set at 50%. None of the POTC rang up at a discount. They had a few other Pharaoh's Quest sets, but I passed on those after finding the Scorpion Pyramid.

I might have to visit some Wal-Marts to try and find pyramids and mill village raids. AC HQ would be very nice too.

If anyone finds the Fire Temple or AC HQ for half please let me know! I have paypal! :)
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
Jackpot at the Wal-Mart! AC HQ, MVR, Atlantis City, Kingdoms Ambush, Apple Tree House! They also had Fire Temple, Slave I, and others, but I didn't have room. I'm trekking across the Midwest to visit family for the holiday - SUV loaded with stuff. My family was nice enough to let me stop and try my luck at a Wal-Mart (and they had a Subway for lunch break). Thanks to matrixrenegade for posting!

I didn't see your post until after my shopping. I'm not so sure I have any more room either. I may try and hit some more and will try and pick up some more to share the wealth.

    Found at Bloomington, MN Wal-Mart:
7327 PQ Scorpion Pyramid, 50% off, $50 total
This store had hardly any LEGO in stock and when scanned, showed up at MSRP.

Found at Eden Prairie, MN Wal-Mart:
7325 PQ Cursed Cobra Statue, 50% off, $14.90 total, was found in clearance isle, quite a few left
7868 Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter, 50% off, $19.90 total, was found in clearance isle, quite a few left

Note - they are not marked at Wal-Mart. You need to scan them.

I picked up the following from my local WM for 50% off:

    5891 Apple Tree House
    7958 SW Advent Calendar
    8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack
    7187 Escape From Dragon's Prison
    8085 Freeco Speeder

There were several 7327 Scorpion Pyramid and 4736 Freeing Dobby available for half off, but I already had those. The WM by my job usually has a lot more lego in stock, going to try and find the 8098 clone turbo tank and 8097 Slave I tomorrow when I get out of work.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
Turbo Tank was not 50% at the one I checked. Slave I and Palpatine were.

I am in the Midwest, feel free to drop them off! I will have to go check out some Walmarts later.

The 9.99 Ninjago packs were marked down to $3.20, so we picked up a few of those.

I had a hit and miss with Walmarts today. I found the PQ pyramid, Plo Koon's Starfighter and a couple of Atlantis sets but that's it. I was very surprised (and disappointed) that the little Hogwarts, all PotC and most SW registered at full price. Most frustrating was that I showed up only minutes after a couple of grandparents had filled an entire cart with everything half priced they could find, including several Kingdoms sets and a couple of Mace Windu sets. Additionally, how can Mace Windu be 50% Off and yet the Landspeeder is still full price? Additionally, the Christmas Wreath polybags were still full price. Oh well, I walked away with a couple of Atlantis and PQ sets so the day wasn't an entire loss. :o)

Wow I'll have to try and see what walmart has here. I've never had luck with any sales or clearance on Lego's at walmart...
    Thanks for the info...

    The spinner packs?

I was really hoping to find Alien Conquest on clearance, but alas.

They did have crazy discounts though. 50% off PQ, Ninjago, Kingdoms, Cars, Toy Story, (select) Star Wars, and Atlantis.I bought a bunch.

@ sidersdd The Walmart by me that had any Lego on sale had the spinners @ $3.99. Two had nothing on sale and one had the sale items in the lego isle. Everything in the clearance isle was full price.
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 369
After a disappointing morning at a Lego store (only got the Tantive IV at $105), had a good run on Walmart: Slave 1, MVR, King's Carriage Rescue, most of the red Ninjago sets, and a few of the Burrows sets. Would have loved to find some ofthe AC earth HQs, but I'll check some other stores tomorrow.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Well - a great day at Wal-Mart (and Target)! I found a ton of sets that were 50% off, and really tried to hold back. I could have bought exponentially more, but tried to be reasonable. Well, as reasonable as this hobby can get.

I posted 19 photos of the shelves of Wal-Marts and Targets today:

    http://brickupdate.com/lego-after-christmas-sale/

Thanks everyone for all of the tips and experiences. I wouldn't have ventured out to these stores if it weren't for all of you!

Yikes - I spent WAYYY too much at Walmart today.

This is, by far, the best clearance sale I have ever seen at Walmart. There were easily 20-30 different sets for 50% off.

That was my question also! I got excited when I actually found a Landspeeder. Then I was shocked to see no discount.

I didn't find anything at my Walmart, boo :(

Yup. We also go the stocking stuffer bags at 50%. They rang up full price, but the cashier agreed that they should be 50% off, and overrode the price.
  • Jillerbean16Jillerbean16 Member Posts: 27
No, I didn't get time yet. Maybe tomorrow? I did call and ask if they would hold them for me and he said no. (Pretty sure he didn't even wanna check if they had them) I'm less than pleased with them.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
When does Wal-Mart typically take these sales to 75%? After the new year?
  • BTHodgemanBTHodgeman Member Posts: 622
@brickupdate - I hate to speculate because this clearance sale is anything but typical for Walmart already.

The drop to 75% off typically is 3-5 days after, but is highly dependent on the store. (As an example, there is a Walmart in my area that is still only 50% off Halloween and they have a ton left. ...)

I think it's safe to say that they will be 50% off for at least one more day, but I wouldnt be surprised if some WMs start going to 75% off on Weds.

Anyone know if Walmart might add further stuff to clearance. There was literally a half a wall of Hagrid's Hut at one I went to. Been looking for this on sale for a while. Do I just keep checking throughout the week. Hard to imagine calling ahead if the stuff isn't even advertised as clearance.
  • BTHodgemanBTHodgeman Member Posts: 622
Not likely there will be additions to the "Christmas clearance," unless the store missed marking down the item somehow.

There will likely be more one-off clearance stuff as they make room for sprinf/summer toys in January

I got a PQ pyramid. Bummed Landspeeder wasn't clearance.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Thanks all. Looks like I will have to just keep checking in on Wal-Mart.
  • wagnerml2wagnerml2 Member Posts: 1,376
I picked up 2 Freeco Speeder, 2 Police Chases, 1 Cars Jet Plane getaway, 2 Ploo Koon fighters, 1 Mace Windu Fighter and 2 PQ Cursed Cobra Statues. Really wanted a MVR, but none around. If anyone picked up extras and would be willing to trade for any of the above, let me know!

^^ We'll just have to keep an eye out for any changes to their offerings or discount.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
Anyone get the AC Tripod or UFO Abduction? Just curious if the 50% off stacked with the Rollback.
  • oboeoboe Member Posts: 11
AC was not on 50% off at my stores.
  • bor2112bor2112 Member Posts: 321
Only AC on sale at my local walmart was HQ. For HP, Dobby, Quidittich and Burrow. For SW, Mace Windu and Advent. All Kingdoms, All PQ. Also small creator sets. Oh, and all red Ninjago.
  • YellowcastleYellowcastle Administrator, Moderator Posts: 5,234
^ Concur. Didn't find any other AC on sale. Same goes for HP except for Freeing Dobby.

Last year my Wal-Marts did not budge past 50%. In fact, there are still sets from last year's Christmas at one of my WM (Midi Star Destroyer, Space Police Lunar Limo), and they are still 50%. Any WM that go past 50% usually do it at their own discretion and not part of a company-wide clearance like this one.

I had an awesome haul today after spending 7 hrs driving to all of the local WM, thanks for the heads up!
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
@cbaker1974 - ahh, so it is YOU who cleared them all out. ;)
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
Found 3 Hogwarts Express tonight, 50% off... they were just sitting there, price scanned them, wow, $40 each...

Most of it isn't that interesting, there is a reason the Ninjago stuff is still sitting there, either it was overproduced, or some of it just isn't in demand.

AQ HQ is however a deal at 50% off... :)
  • cbaker1974cbaker1974 Member Posts: 150
    Haha...
    Well, my haul was this:
    1 Mill Village Raid
    9 Earth Defense HQ
    8 Hoth Wampa Cave
    7 Plo Koon
    14 Mace Windu Fighter
    12 Harry Potter The Burrow
    10 Slave 1
    4 Palpatine Shuttle
    7 Harry Potter Quidditch
    28 Snowtrooper Battle Pack
    1 Apple Tree House
    10 Freeing Dobby

I think there may be more, missing a receipt somewhere..I went to 10 different Walmarts to collect these. I was surprised to only get 1 Apple Tree House, it was pretty badly mushed as well...will keep that one to build as I had a few others from B&N coupon sales. Was wishing for some Hogwarts Express, but not a one to be found. I left lots of stock at those stores, didn't clear them out by any means (well, except the Burrow and Slave 1 when I lucked into it...only 3 stores had them).

All of those seperate trips did trigger fraud alerts on 2 of my credit cards! Annoying but nice to know that's in place. I was bummed out that I was going to miss the after Christmas sales since I am leaving tomorrow for Vegas to party for New Year's, so this was a great surprise!
  • romdamromdam Member Posts: 136
Got me a Advent calander, Blacksmith Shop, and Freeing Dobby for $30. Usually I'd pass but for that price, not bad for 13 minifigs, which is why I got these.

All the big SW sets were gone otherwise I might have grabbed those. I def wanted a Mill Village set tho, but no luck.
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
I just left my last Walmart, none of my credit cards would work anymore, I've used them too many times today between the Lego store (both of them), Target (three of them), Walmart (I lost count, but I think 6 of them), and a few other uses. It isn't a limit issue on a few of them, I think it is a repeated use issue. The banks did not call me either, grumble. Oh well...

I have $2K of limit left on one card that just wouldn't work no matter what I did, my last stop I finally had to leave stuff behind because I simply ran out of payment methods and I only had about $230 in cash on hand. Grrr...

I'm not sad about it, I'm thrilled at what I got. The 10 Mace Windu fighters will have no trouble selling. :)

I'll see if I can't stack it all up and take a picture tomorrow, have to get some sleep now.
