Stopped by TRU and saw that they're setting up for back to school.

Saw some Lego related items they are carrying.

Only the female character items had something other than the Batman logo in the backside.

    They look nice.

Funny though, over here school isn't out until the end of next week, for a 2 month break - no way anyone is thinking of "back to school" :D

But you see, if we start the back-to-school season sooner, we can get into Halloween season sooner, then wrap that up mid-October to start up Christmas season.

What?!?  Are you all high in Denver?

(Oh, wait.  I suppose that is literally true and figuratively accurate...)

We're back at school August 7th, which is a little later this year, but last year ended in May.

This is great, when they had this stuff for TLM I was able to pick up a bunch later on clearance, I gave a lot away at shows but I'm still using the spiral bound notebooks. There should be pencils too.

@SprinkleOtter apparently Home Depot already has Halloween stuff out.

His daughter might be in one of those year around schools here. There's 4 different tracks with varying start and end dates. My daughter used to be in one a few years ago where she got out of school the first or second week of June and went back at the end of July. But she also had a three week break in the fall and spring, along with a 5 week break in winter.

Traditional schools in my neck of California run Aug to late May/early June.
Some schools are on a different track and run July to May with sporadic weeks off in between.

To have a traditional sale NATIONWIDE of school supplies is hard to do, so for the past decade it's been held in July. By the time Sept rolls around, it's hard to find anything school-related on sale.

If I see anything else of school relevance that is Lego related, I will post here.

^ It is not a year round school, but it has an alternate schedule, every student has the same vacation schedule. School is end of July to end of May, 2 weeks for fall, xmas and spring break.

These dates make my head spin.  At least the schools I know of here in New England do not start until after Labor Day.

That's very much an East Coast thing.

plus we don't get snow days which can lengthen your year back east
