Lego and Technology

Hello everyone!

I’m a student currently researching on the topic of Lego and Information and Communication Technology(ICT). Here’s some background on my research:

I’m investigating how The Lego Group adapted to modern times. One aspect of this is keeping up with the advancements of technology and console/mobile games. Therefore, The Lego Group have been implementing mobile gaming apps into their products. Examples include Lego Ultra Agents, Lego Nexo Knights and many more, where specialised parts are included in sets specifically to interact with the mobile apps.

Therefore, I’d like to find out how this move has affected or impacted us Lego fans. Would you kindly help me out by sharing your views on this topic on this survey and discussion thread? I really appreciate you helping me in my project! Thank you so much!

The Lego games are fun, but nothing can beat just playing with the Legos themselves.

Yeah, yeah. I know. It's just saying Lego as plural to someone who isn't a Lego geek (no offense anyone. I proudly include myself in that category) won't make any sense at all to them.

Though, saying it here would make perfect sense.

You should take a look at the early 2000s games LEGO made, and those it didn't make. Some quite interesting stuff there. For example, the first Bionicle game they were going to make got canned because it was kinda FPS, and LEGO deemed that too violent after 9/11. THough they made another game similar to it a year or two later.
