Pneumatics Issues

A friend of mine has asked me to take a look at two of their sets where the pneumatic functions don't appear to be working, does anyone have any tips for quick or obvious checks before I resort to stripping it down...

    Certainly with the AROCS, the hoses have to fit through some fairly tight spaces, and with the rotation of the arm, it's really easy to get them squashed or snagged.  I checked after every build step that they were still unhindered.

    At a guess there's either a loose connection, or a line is being squished so that air can't get through.
