I guess my is lost in transit or system :(
DHL claims they have never got it from LEGO as the tracking is stopped on electronic receipt and before the physical pick up (also the weight of just 12.6 pound = 6kg seems wrong)
LEGO claims they have delivered to DHL as the system says. And they could not find anything since morning.

^ I hope this is not the first of many lost packages as Yodel or DHL, "temporary delivery staff", start to accidentally lose the parcels on Ebay, when they realise it is worth a few months wages.

Yikes! You fear that sort of thing in a fit of paranoia, but to actually have it go missing that's awful. I hope you can get it sorted @papluh!

Just been thinking about the massive price jump for the scalper sales and where it's going to go. It took a while for 10179 to rise, but this one will be interesting. Obviously when the scarcity has gone down and its regularly in stock at Lego stores and online, there's no way scalpers will be able to pull a ridiculous profit. But for those first 100 signed ones... is that $5000 the initial peak, or the beginning of something even more insane?
I think this is just the initial Falcon mania and it will all die down.  This is probably the best time to sell a signed copy, while the hype is hot and heavy I would think.  It might be worth more very farther down the road, but time value of money and all that...

I wonder what would happen if you bought one, received the VIP black card and then returned it to a LBR store?  Would your black VIP rights be revoked?

It says the black VIP card will carry your name and current VIP number.  So you will have two cards and either can be used.  Mine will end up in the display cabinet and I will use my current card in store.

Unless waving a black VIP has perks like an airline VIP card.  Imagine that, access to a Moss Eisley style lounge bar though the back of the Lego shop for VIP card holders.  I can only dream..........
I've been to the back of my local Lego Store. Glamorous it is not! I didn't see a door to a lounge either, but maybe its just really well hidden. And I didn't have a black VIP card I could wave ;)

Is the UCS falcon set in the same scale as the UCS Slave I ?

If it starts getting lost before even entered into DHL system then they have a problem...

So far my only worry is they will cancel the order, give me money back and I'll be at the end of queue with high risk not getting the black card ...

If it was lost on the last step of delivery, they I'd be more nervous.

Yep, both are "minifig scale". See here for a size comparison of the old UCS Falcon, #10179 (Which is the same size as the new one): http://i.imgur.com/j42V2eT.jpg

The physical card wouldn't be revoked, but the perks that come with it likely would.

For anyone Interested about what steps you pass the Old Millennium Falcon and the Taj Mahal like @bobabricks then here it is. I worked with a calculator for about 30 minutes getting this information and if its accurate then these would be the steps that will surpass each set. For the 10179 LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon you will pass over 5197 pieces in bag 12 of the new one on step 920 which can be found on page 367. For the set 10189 LEGO Taj Mahal you will pass over 5922 pieces in bag 13 on step 1027 which can be found on page 398. I am actually adding up the number of pieces in each bag so I may or may not post those piece amounts here as well.

A little bit of info to share - take it for what it's worth...

I'm in the US and was one of those who tried to deal with [email protected] crashing for 2 hours starting at the 8am Eastern launch time.  I was eventually able to get my order placed an hour and a half later and immediately the status showed "Waiting on new stock".  So, that was the 14th and on the 18th my status changed to "Backordered".  I finally logged into an an online chat today with a CS rep to see if I could get a sense of what to expect...

He said that my order was scheduled to ship on October 16th at this time, but that could change.  I told him that was unexpected and very disappointing - and I asked him if there would be inventory available for the general release on 10/1.  He said "no, that's launch has been pushed back".

Anyway, I'm clearly livid.  If that story is really true, LEGO massively miscalculated the demand for this set which blows my mind.  Oh well, shouldn't get so worked up about it but #*&@ it I'm just frustrated and disappointed...

Similar experience as this, I did chat then eventually called and he told me the same. Waiting for new stock aka back ordered. Should receive in 30 days. If you did not get to order ine on the 14th before sold out then you're pretty much sol

@TyresOFlaherty That's really smart.  I never thought of that.  Stickers can usually be put on wax paper without losing their stickiness, in case you don't want to waste your sticker sheets.

Most of the time I would do that, but I don't know how many extra pieces there are supposed to be. I have only done 12 bags so far and I have no idea if I may or may not have forgotten to put a piece on the set.

My extras from bag 4 for what it's worth. There seems to be more than the other bags and in particular the 1*3 has me thinking I missed something. @Adzbadboy can you remember what you had left over or anyone else for that matter.

edit - rookie move the 1*3 I missed on 303 which is the first wrap around part.

For those near B&M stores. I went to my local yesterday (Leeds) and asked when they would be restocked. The supervisor told me they were expecting 8 more on Friday morning. The store opens at 9, the shopping centre opens at 6. I'm not going but I thought I'd tell you guys on here in case it helps. Other stores may well have similar deliveries so it might be worth asking.

They also said that Lego is planning on sending more later in the month and for the 1st October release date, but they don't confirm anything until a few days before to avoid disappointment - her advice was to keep ringing every dew days and find out as the delivery is confirmed.

Obviously, online is a different matter. Looks like they have 2 separate production lines - 1 for the physical stores, another for cyber.

So, just got off a call with customer support and mine is officially lost.
The European online shop is dry and they have only offered me to cancel the order. I might get the card by post as it was paid, but once cancelled all perks will be withdrawn. If I chose to transfer it to VIP points instead, the inactivation might not take place, but there is no guarantee.
Also they cannot even put me at the end of queue, I'd have to fight to get an online order when it comes up again. That being said it might be end of October or November or ... so one cannot even prepare.
Only positive thing is that it is a bad day at work, so this can't piss me off much more...

@M_Boss If this is what you're asking, I remove all the extra sticker paper on the sheets I don't use, then place the sticker on the corner of the backing paper like this:

I like it, because I can see how 3 of the 4 corners will line up on the surface I'm putting it on, and if it doesn't work, not too much of the sticker has been applied yet and it's pretty easy to pull it back up. Once I have it lined up the way I want, I take the sticker sheet off and press it all down. Hope that helps!
You should make a video of this in action and put it on YouTube!

The eagle has landed. Exactly 7 days after ordering which was a back order. Not too bad in my opinion, from the UK to Ireland in 5 working days after being told I was waiting for stock.

    @papluh, that sucks.
I don't think you should cancel the order. Try calling back and ask to speak to a supervisor, then ask to speak to their manager, keep going until you reach someone with some power or autonomy. The loss is on their side, it is their fault and you should not lose out as a result.
I really hope you can get to an agreeable solution.
Order is still up, but I can't find a way how to get past regional call center.
Called the local store and they are out too.

In about 3 weeks we have a week long event as RLUG. I think I'll just print a paper saying "this would have been a UCS MF if LEGO has not messed up"

I know only of 2 people around me that were lucky ... both are resellers.

^to this point.  Talk to the right people at the right time and anything will happen.  TLG will not allow themselves to be without ANY copies of a set - even though it is sold out or backordered, there could still be 100's in the back corridors of TLG buildings scattered about - some in the U.S., some in DK, some elsewhere.

    Keep pushing.

They must be working on manufacturing enough to clear the backlog - my backorder is now in Warehouse. How long do they take to ship once in the warehouse? Having mine delivered to work, but am going on at least 4 weeks leave after the end of next week.

Pretty quick, within a couple days. In warehouse means it's allocated to your order and is pretty much waiting on a monkey to slap a label on it.

Yeah, it's a mess.  Tell whoever you know that was shut out to just keep calling his local Lego store every hour on the hour to check stock status.  That seems to be what they want people to do.

The Lego Brand Retail stores in the US appear to be getting re-supply.  I picked one up near me this morning.  Unfortunately I almost threw my back out carrying it to my car as they didn't have any wheels :(; and they wouldn't commit to giving me them if they got some in. They also had run out of the monthly poly :(.  Luckily I complained because when I bought Ewok Village there last year, they also were out of free polys and gave me nothing when I complained.  They were nice this time and gave me the pieces and instruction for an unreleased Wonder Woman Brickheadz.  If you live near a retail store that is your best bet to get the set and the Black VIP card.

The order my friend had was an online order from VIP day one, 9/14. Are Lego stores really getting new stock before fulfilling online orders? That just seems unfair.... the average Joe who missed the first release should be behind backordered VIP's, not nabbing a lucky restock at their local store. :P
