Soooo. Since this thread began its life with a bit of speculation, how about we speculate as to what the exclusive figures the black card gives us access to are, if indeed figures are part of the deal?

i was kinda hoping it might be one or two high profile missing pilots, that may or may not have been involved in the destruction of the second Death Star...

With the inclusion of the porgs, the Penguins like creatures found on Luke's mystery island (I think), I wonder if that is a hint at a Luke/R2/new Rey set of figures, all of which I assume fly in the falcon in the new film.

whatever comes our way, I hope they are all falcon centric and and not just 10% extra off this or that etc.

There is a black Vip card on eBay. It's up to £1050 already. This is for card only. Not set. Is that crazy?

Btw, for all the Sticker-Haters (like myself), there`s a guy in Germany who prints Custom Parts, he even offers full sets, for D2C Sets like the GBHQ (for example)! I already asked if he intend to offer printed Parts for the Falcon, waiting for the answer! Here's the Link, in case you're interested: http://www.steindrucker.com/lego-set-buendel
I'm not affiliated, just wanted to share!
Just browsed. My God it's amazing. I hate hate hate stickers.  I would buy every set with printed stickers he has ...   So he prints every single piece in a set that needs sticker?

He woukd be crazy not to do it for the Falcon. There will be tons of people willing to do this. What's an extra 50 dollars when you just laid out 800 plus?

Site is a little tough to navigate but ready to buy some now.

Money rarely changes hands on eBay with mad bids like this. If it does then jeez I despair

We can kill several pages speculating on when "awaiting new stock" will actually happen!

A signed set with card just make over £5k, if that's a genuine sale then Star Wars collectors are completely bonkers!

Is someone here keeping tabs on how many of the 100 are being sold on? I've spotted 5 sets with card and 2 cards, but I guess there's been some sold elsewhere too and some I've missed.

But £5600. Wow. Makes me glad I've already opened my box otherwise I'd worry about opening it ;-)

30 sets are already listed at Ebay. Which seems like about up to 1% of those available day 1 in the UK.
TLG don't seem to care. Otherwise they would track the sets and give the vip users a lifetime ban from being VIP members and banned from entry to any TLG property.
It probably wouldn't stop the scalpers from future speculation but it would make it a lot harder for them.

I don't believe the popularity of the set took Lego by suprise, Lego want this set to make the front page of all Lego/Toy websites and forums.

The last thing Lego would want to do is overproduce stock and make it look like the set wasnt in demand, even if it means losing out on resellers profits on ebay.

The whole thing has created an enormous hype.

The easiest way to deal with scalpers is make enough product for your customers.  I know, sounds crazy.

They know that these exclusives will go for crazy money, they encourage it by artifically making them so difficult to get e.g the Lester minifig. I live in Ireland, there are no LEGO shops here so I have 0 chance of getting any of these limited edition exclusives unless I go to London or comic-con etc. It all creates hype etc.

I'd probably sell for that kind of money. Thankfully I won't have that dilemma as mine won't be signed.

Just being very honest here, but if someone offered me £5,600 for a set I couldn't be arsed to go and get up until 9am that morning, I'd probably have to take it.  I think most sane people would.  I didn't go with the intention of selling it on, but that's alot of money.  I could sell and still have my Falcon and £5k in my pocket.  At the end of the day I only went for the thrill of the event and get my #10179 signed.  Up until late in the evening I didn't even have an intention of getting the new release signed at all.
Unless the buyer decides to say you didn't send what he paid for, files a complaint with ebay, and returns a different item from what you sent him.

There's already one listed locally for $1600. I wonder if there's any interest or if it's like the $190 Saturn Vs that have been sitting there for weeks.

So, the bullet hole sticker... what are the chances this relates to a scene in Episode8 ?

^ ZERO - Unless part of the story is them being repaired.  The blaster scorch marks have always been there.  I think the primary reason for them being included is as a nod to the SW collectors.  Among Falcon modellers,  one of the signs of a quality kit (or pre painted model) is the inclusion of the Zorro mark.

Well i can't wait to get started in building mine, but I'm just waiting for the little guy to get home from school to share in the experience with him. I could also be one of the first in AUS to have theirs arrive.

I do want to ask how many people would actually empty the lot out, then sort into similar/same bricks and go from there. I was going to do that with the Death Star a month ago but got impatient once I opened it. I think I really just want to stretch the build as long as possible.

Man, I knew I should have gotten the express shipping! Mine is still at the Alexandria business hub, who knows how long it'll stay there this time. My UCS Snowspeeder spent 2 weeks there.

If it's already in AUS then it really shouldn't be that long at all. Unless you are in some way off country type town then it would take a while. Although i hope you get it really soon and just to see the scale of this thing haha.

I'm in Brisbane as well! Auspost is just terrible when it comes to getting something to you on time. I'll be surprised if the tracking updates from "shipping information approved by Australia post" before next monday. I've seen the old one at conventions a couple of times so I know exactly how big it is, I want it now dammit! :P

Turns out I didn't even get close to finishing yesterday, I'm just going to keep building and not worry how much I have left.

In addition to that I have one of my very first missing pieces in the form of a single 4211135 - Roof Tile 1X2/45°, good news is I have tons of them in my parts collection. It's a shame it had to be in this set though.

I have spoken to someone at the event, and apparently they were hinted at that the 100 black VIP card's given out that night will also get other exclusive items (display case?) compared to the standard black VIP card. @Legoboy did you get told anything like this on the night?
I think this is the reason why they are going for so much.... 10179 had a first edition run, and 75192 has this.. Which is a collectors dream..

Also that VIP card that went for £1040 on eBay was a genuine auction. (I didn't buy it though)

Just from reading the comments on the forum, there seems to be quite a lot of folks with missings parts.  A little disappointing for such a flagship set, worse for those fortunate enough to actually be building it too.

From my understanding it was an exclusive, that we'd get another one shipped to our house within 6 weeks. The source is a store employee who was explaining it to the people in line.

Does anyone have an extra of this poster for sale or trade? I have extras of the other 2 but didn't get this one. I placed orders each day online but LEGO didn't match the different posters to different days...

Going from the posts of people missing pieces (and not consistently the same missing pieces, which is more worrying from a lack of process control point of view), i'd say the weight is going to vary quite a bit from order to order.

I ran into the same problem. They sent me a day 1 poster in my day 2 order. I called and they told me they didn't have any more available buy offered too send me the 3rd day poster instead.  I guess ill end up buying inner one on eBay and try selling the extra day 3 to recoup some of the cost. They also sent me an extra scariff trooper polybag.

    @SprinkleOtter from huw review

The box measures 53cm x 46cm x 38cm, and although the front surface area is not as large as, say, the Assembly Square's box, it's the depth that sets it apart from all others.

In its outer shipping carton it weighs just under 15Kg.

Quick question.  (It may have been asked / answered already, but I'm afraid I can't bring myself to trawl through this whole thread again).

The Black VIP card.  How do you get hold of it?  I was fortunate enough to be able to get over to Watford early enough to buy a Falcon, but VIP cards weren't mentioned (other than scanning my 'regular' card) and I wasn't awake enough to ask about them.

Will :Lego know that I've bought the set and just send me one, or do I have to apply somewhere?

    Cheers!
