UCS falcon rumours (that turned out to be true!)

  • @ecmo47, yes, I agree that it I cancel I will more than likely never get it, but I have a bricklinked 10179 so could live without it. My reason for cancelling would be based on being sick and tired of dealing with the shambles of their ordering process and my growing belief that the current order status is probably fake. I see lots of other posters saying their order has shipped, so why, 2 full working days later has mine not? Is it actually 'In warehouse' or on backorder / awaiting more stock but the order status hasn't updated correctly? As I said, I ordered while there was stock (and server issues etc.), I also note that the order confirmation didn't contain my VIP details (even though you needed to log in with VIP account to actually order) and at times the order status has temporarially / momentatially shown as 'On Backorder' and 'Awaiting new stock'.

Great photos!  My only question is when did times get so tough that Jamie Oliver had to get a second job at the Lego Store?

@gunther.schnitzel I ordered mine around the same time as yours and I've just checked the order status and it's now changed from In Warehouse to Complete. Not had the email confirmation yet but that's no surprise.
  • steveomclsteveomcl Member Posts: 202
Based in Ireland still showing as 'In warehouse' for me, order placed 07:54 on Thursday morning before backorder. Will probably call and cancel if it hasn't shipped by Tuesday morning.
Why...why would you do this! In my experience all standard delivery purchases from Lego to my home in Ireland take 7 full days from processing to postage...excluding the weekend (unless you have paid for priority postage) you are inly willing to wait 3 full working days before cancelling?

Did they leave it? My shipping email from LEGO said that I would have to sign for it.

So I ordered my right at 8am while my roommate ordered theirs 2 hours later and they got a shipping confirmation last night and my order still says waiting for stock.?

Canceling it will not make a difference. There will be someone to scoop it up. So I wouldn't do it to make some sort of statement...

    Finished Bag 4...

    On to Bag 5...

It's really useful to use the tray included with the set for holding the parts if you don't have limited space.

    Yeah freebies ship separately.

I'm tempted to list #10179 & #75192 together on EBay with a ridiculously high reserve just to see what kinda action it gets.

I'd be interested to know the Saturn V sales and Police Station sales.  But a $5M sales day would probably have Hasbro declaring global domination in the toy market.  And hopefully this will ensure a decade of availability.

After all you went through to secure one and upset you were to potentially miss out, you're going to turn into a scalper?

Scalper?  Did you miss the part about ridiculous high reserve?  It won't sell.  And if it did at the reserve I'd have, then I let you call me a scalper and I'll sleep fine at night.

Meh, whatever you set it at is going to be within the realm of possibility otherwise you're knowingly wasting your time.  At any rate, I don't really care what you do, it's your stuff, but I've been following your posts and was empathetic towards your troubles then you go and say you're tossing it up on eBay.  Sorry for calling you out.

I'm missing three though which are extremely hard to get: #6176782 - Escape the Space Slug, Losing / Winning Force Friday II raffle slip and the expedited shipping code card which didn't relate to my scenario as I did get one. Really proud of this collection, just need to find a way of presenting it.

Whats the significance of the sticker sheet? What did it come with?

My worry is I will find myself in a cycle of not knowing when the next batch will be released, missing it while they are snapped up by scrapers and so on for several months.

I am assuming these people have the resources to make multiple purchases if they are making several hundreds of £££s for each one sold.  I can certainly see their motivation.

But customer services did say I was welcome to call up every day until I got some firm release information.  Hopefully persistence will pay off, it's just a shame I also have to compete with an internet connection that's really slow and living almost 3 hours drive from my nearest Lego store which would be Milton Keynes or Stratford.  I am sure it was my slow connection speed that contributed to my set being whipped out from underneath me during the checkout process.  By the time my screen refreshed they had gone from backorder to being  sold out.

Yikes! Have fun paying that $100+ eBay fee for a reserve... all just to watch people squirm and not even sell.

I'd use that money to justify purchasing another LEGO set :)

It wouldn't be a waste of time for me.  The current market of both sets individually is known.  Unless I'm searching wrong there aren't any postings with both.  I'm legitimately curious to see what the 2 combined would go for on the open market.  Realm of possibility at the reserve I would put?  Anything is possible but I'd be shocked.  You can call me out, I don't mind.  I feel just as bad for everyone who didn't get one.  I'll probably start building mine tonight.  Or in 7 days if I follow through on this hairbrained scheme.

Haha, I don't think it would be a good idea, but I'd like to! I have a nut allergy didn't want to take the risk, plus I've been building the sets and totally forgot it was in my bag so it won't be nice to eat either. Anyone have suggestions with the cupcake? :P

That was given to customers during Force Friday II along with the guide so you could answer the questions and potentially win a #75192 - Millennium Falcon or an #30611 - R2-D2.

Cool, thanks. I bought the brochure thing from eBay because I wanted one to go with my falcon and couldn't get to a store to pick one up (for free) and the seller included the sticker sheet.. so I wasn't curious about the origin.

Lego CS rep told me that a lot of duplicate orders were being canceled and those canceled orders would be made available to VIPs throughout the coming week/weeks.

What are the special offers that this card entitles a member to?

Special offers will include points promotions, special events, gifts with purchase and more! The offers will be shared directly with applicable VIPs throughout 2018.

Looks like I made the right decision not to wait for double points.

I'm telling myself the "Waiting for new stock" status is a good thing. After all, it's not like I'll be home any time soon to pick it up or build it. I'm happy to see they are shipping the freebies separately. When I ordered the Super Star Destroyer for May the Fourth 2012, they threw in the TC-14 minifigure into the same box, and it created a minifigure-sized imprint on the face of the set box. With as fancy as the UCS Millennium Falcon Redux box is, I definitely want to avoid blemishes of any kind!

there is a second part to that statement :

How long is the card available for?

The collectible card is a limited-time offer until 31/12, or while stocks last.

Only LEGO knows how big those card stocks are, if they are region bound, how it compares to the number of sold Falcons, if they need to make more sets, will they also add cards ?

Honestly ? With what is happening on the supply of sets and LEGO acting surprised with the demand, I would not hold high hopes for orders made late this year...

  • HanzoHanzo Member Posts: 607
Um, it doesn't take much to just make more cards.  They aren't made of gold pressed latinum.

    ^^ don't apply logic to corporations ;)
They already have the backdoor in those terms and the cards will cost them some (I guess they are 3rd party made). Also what is important it is not the card itself but the commitment of providing some perks in 2018.
I want to be mistaken just for the others to have a chance ...

This is similar to my thoughts.  They have already said while stocks last and these cards will keep costing TLG as they have to fund fulfilling the perks throughout 2018.  The VIP program is a marketing tool and they clearly thought they needed extra marketing to shift these MFs.  Now they see the set sells itself where is the incentive to incur more marketing costs?  In fact it seems they need to do the reverse and slow demand while they struggle to fulfil the current orders.
