And maybe, just maybe it keeps the designers from being boring about the 'explosion art' featuring a LEGO set.
"We've listened to fans who wonder why we can't release sets with more 2x4 bricks in, so we decided to set ourselves a challenge of using only 2x4 bricks in this set!"
"We also heard all the calls for more sets with Jar Jar in them, and what better way to answer those calls than with a life-size bust?"
"...also, the ears aren't properly fixed on, so that they can flap up and down realistically."
"The set contains 1687 pieces, and will retail for $299/£279. We hope you enjoy building it as much as we did designing it!"
Of course, all the stickers would be STAMPs. ;)
This one needs to be life size and full body, not just a bust.
So far we've had 3 teasers, 3 being our magic number. What are the 3 of the most common things debated/discussed on Brickset Forum? Sausages, is market street a modular, and the existence white rangefinder. What else go all of these have in common? Well... Sausa'juh'e, mo'juh'ular, ran'juh'efinder, they all have the 'juh' sound! It is not a coincidence, the first letter must be J!
Next we have the set numbers. The old falcon (what LEGO wants us to think this new set will be), had a set number of 10179 and the new set has an rumored number of 75192. If we turn these to letters, we get A_AGI and GEAIB. The most common letter is an A, and look how many times it appears, our magic number of 3 times! So it must be our next letter.
Now we move onto the teasers. The first teaser says the box will be 4.86x bigger, and the second teaser says the instructions will be 2.56x bigger. Rounded we will have 5 and 3. We multiply those and get 15, and then we need to add the magic number of 3, which brings us to 18. That letter is an R, our final letter. So now we have 'jar'. You may think that LEGO will create a special 'jar' type package for such a special set. That was what I was thinking until I realized Lego was hiding the final clue in plain sight.
When the latest teaser was released, the title was originally, 'MF - UCS MF 15 sec HERO Teaser video', but was later changed to 'LEGO Star Wars is assembling something big!'. Now you could naively believe that this confirms the falcon in some way, but it in fact is the missing link. There were 2x names to the teaser. That must mean that we need to 2x our current clues to figure out what the set will be.
So finally, I can confirm to you all that the upcoming set will be called
"Jar Jar".
OH NO WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!
"You raped my childhood"
"George Lucas doesn't care about me"
"Real Star Wars fans like me.."
Is there any chance of another teaser tomorrow, or have they already revealed as much as they're going to before September 1st?
Not gonna get this right away, whatever it is. Gonna use the socked away cash and more to get the 2015-2017 sets that I want before they go away, get more caught up.
OK, resume discussion. Just thought it interesting that hype can cool a purchase fever.
Also, does the Lego S@H site get updated at midnight or is there typically a lag. Not sure how these things work. Sorry for my noobness
I informed the customer service lady and she told me that it is not something that is done automatically (which you would think it would be pretty easy to code the system to make X set available at X date and X time). But instead, someone manually "pushes" the set to be available and they did not do it the night before or just messed it up and had to "redo" it that morning.
I find this pretty interesting, we all knock jokes on TLG and their online capabilities (slim to none) but thats one thing you would think would be easy for them to do?
On the flip side, imagine being that person who gets to push all the sets to availability at the right time?
He also told me that all they know is that the Falcon will cost 799,99€, will have around 8000 pieces and will weigh 15kg.
They will order 40 of them to one Lego Shop and 20 People in each Shop have the possibility to preorder one and pick one up from September 14th to October 1st. (I am third in line! :D)
Somewhere around September, there should also be 3x VIP points because of the 40th anniversary. Fingers crossed that it'll be around September 14th!
"Will the bags be numbered or blank, like the original UCS?"
Fun times sorting those pieces!
So I'm thinking that even with modern building techniques and all, they couldn't get away with adding 2346 pieces without a significant interior, right?
