Never got a Black card but got email. Now what?
I believe someone above posted that CS told them everyone in the US should get their black cards by end of February. I bought last week of December and don’t have mine yet either. In any case, you can still get the promos. Your black card bennies are attached to your VIP number.

To confirm, I only brought SW Sets last weekend, got the 60th promo set and I got double points no problem on all the Star Wars sets...but I did notice I did not get double points on the Rey & Kylo brickheads...but they are not listed as Star Wars sets, they are under Brickheadz! So no double points.

That's just strange. When Lego [email protected] was running the 100 bonus VIP points on each Star Wars set, the Finn and Captain Phasma BrickHeadz counted as Star Wars sets.

In theory that's all you need to confirm you're a Black VIP member. I'd say if you got the email saying what the Black VIP promo was then you won't need the physical card to claim the benefits. Of course, there's always the chance the card has been linked to the wrong number or something similar but hopefully that's not the case

Absolutely no skin in this MF game but web technology of TLG, and their continued lack of it, never ceases to amaze me.  Shows they're REALLY good at making their core product as they continue to stumble elsewhere.
They should get the guys who did their manufacturing and warehousing systems to look their front end!

That might be the whole problem. I write software for foodservice distributors to handle purchasing, sales, shipping and inventory, and tying that to a website that allows thousands of people to make purchases at once is like making the Kessel run in 11 parsecs.

Bought the MF back in December, no black card yet, no email, nothing.

On Friday, bought two Microfighters at my local store and no double points showed up on the receipt. On Saturday contacted CS through email (I'm not much of a phone guy). No response yet, but checked my balance just now and "complimentary points" matching the Microfighters were applied today.

Hopefully I'll get a response later today confirming I am in "the list".

Thanks for the heads up. I emailed CS about my missing points, and they added them without informing me.

I just got a response from CS. These might answer a couple of questions you might have:

We're sorry to hear you didn't receive the Star Wars™ Double Point promotional email from us. Your account shows it was sent, so I feel there's two possibilities as to why.

If you haven't already checked, I would look in your Spam or Junk email folder. It may have gone there instead of your normal In Box. The other option, which I feel is more likely - is your account was tagged "Not Yet Decided" for VIP emails. Since all of the special promotions will be relayed via email, I've updated that to a Yes and I hope that's okay. If not, please let us know right away and we'll change it back for you.

There's no need to provide a receipt for your Millennium Falcon™ purchase, it's right there in your VIP account! Your account status does show you're eligible for all of the special promotions that come along with making that purchase before the end of 2017.

The points for the 2 Star Wars™ sets you purchased in our LEGO® store have now added. Due to not all of our VIP members being eligible, the points don't add right away - whether a store purchase or order online/phone. The 'double' points will add within 48 hours through our VIP team. I'm sorry for any confusion about that - I learned something new too when reaching out about it!
Seems like I was already on "the list" :-D

Eh.  Now that the black VIP promotion is over (even though the special offers so far are weak) I find myself not jumping at buying it until I can ether get it on sale or use it towards a new promotion (double points or such).

  • The_RancorThe_Rancor Member Posts: 2,573
^ Likelihood of being able to get double points or any kind of promo at all on [email protected] for the Falcon is minimal for the foreseeable future.

Since this thread is a general UCS Falcon thread now, an update on BeNeLux retail availability:

Another toy retailer now has stock of #75192, this time the Dutch Intertoys chain. Priced at local RRP of 849 €.
  • PapaBearPapaBear Member Posts: 638
It's been 4 weeks since it was last in stock at [email protected]  I bet it comes in stock more often now.  If any decent promo comes online during availability, I expect it to sell out fast.  We can always cross our fingers though.

I got an email saying "Your first LEGO VIP Black Card offer is here!" And it said "Exclusive to Black Card holders Double VIP Points on all Star Wars purchases" etc... but I haven't seen or gotten anything else. Am I supposed to get a black card in the mail? Links from the email only go to generic pages on the lego site.
  • The_RancorThe_Rancor Member Posts: 2,573
^ you don't need the physical card for the promos, only for the system to know that you bought the UCS Falcon before the end of last year. If you got the email then you should be fine.
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945
Well, it seems like the response I got from CS (see a few posts above) is BS.
I went to my local LEGO store today and bought #75205 Mos Eisley Cantina; double points showed up in my receipt.
I least it is confirmation that my 'black card' status is confirmed.

My VIP card arrived in the post, yay! Ordered the ultimate Millennium Falcon on that magical day of December 11th when it was available to order for a few hours, so didn’t have to wait too long at least. :)

So if we buy during Double VIP do we get quadruple points?

I heard "no" from a store employee; and I am not paying full price for #75201 or #75534 to test the waters ;-)

BTW, this is how the double points show up in my account:

Which is different from the "complimentary points" I got after contacting CS (see screenshot a few posts above). Seems like more evidence that something was done to my account after I contacted CS.

I am not complaining as all was fast and easy, and everything is in right order now. But I do encourage you (as others have done before) to contact CS to double-check your status if your are unsure.

Looks like I'll have to make a call to CS, it's now March 2nd and I still havent gotten my black VIP card. It looks like I am eligible for the promotions, just dont have the card. I bought my falcon on Nov 24th.

I was looking at the Millennium Falcon set. Do you guys think there will be an additional set upgrade to incorporate the nose section as shown in the upcoming Han Solo solo movie? I think the guide within the front opening could be there to do so. Attaching to the round tiles in the front...

I figure so many people bemoaned the mere idea of the Black VIP Card programme that they've toned down the benefits to virtually nothing. I guess if it's a numbers game it keeps the majority of people happy, particularly considering the supply 'issues'. I think we can assume we'll get something in April due to the Solo merch being released, then of course something in May (surely... ;) )

Alternatively, it may be because of changes to their plans for the number of Black VIP Cards distributed.  We know that they ran through the number of Black VIP Cards they expected to last until the end of the year very quickly.  (A couple of places have said the original promotion was limited to 20k cards worldwide, and that they went through those in the first day.  They had also expected that number to last through the end of December, even though they were limited, so that the time and not the number of cards would be a real limiter to getting one, according to those same sources that I've seen. This hasn't been officially confirmed in any way, however.)

Anyways, we know for a fact that they gave out far more Black VIP Cards than they had originally intended because they talked about how the program was being extended to anyone who bought a MilF prior to Jan 1st.  With that taken into account, they would have needed to manufacture more volume to meet the increased number of cards, and they actually couldn't be really sure until Jan 1st just how much they would need, although they could predict what would be sold at least a couple of weeks prior to that based on their own stock numbers for the set and over-manufacture by, say, 5% of that number.  So we have from the beginning of December till now for them to have a rough idea of how much stock they will need for Black Card exclusives.  That's about 3 months, and 3 months is painfully short for even an emergency run in industrial manufacturing.  Especially considering that these next few months tend to include some of the busiest times of the year for new set releases, and they need stock prior to the actual release.  So I wouldn't expect to see any exclusive minifigs or small sets or whatever being released until this month at the earliest, and possibly still not for another month or two.

They certainly may have cut back on the program, but they've also almost certainly manufactured quite a few of early exclusives if they were doing any, and it would be foolish to discard all of those and basically ruin what has so far been a wildly successful program for them.  That success may change if they don't start giving out rewards soon, though, and I'm sure they know that after the rocky roll out of the cards themselves.
