Lego inside tour 2017 3-5 May

hello! I am attending the Lego inside tour from 3-5 May this year and I cannot wait. I am from UK. I am really keen to connect with others who are on this same tour.  I am arriving on tues 2nd May in the morning and planning to go to legoland, hoping to maybe meet someone else who may want to go so I am not a loner. Also would quite like some company for dinner! Anyway, anyone else on this tour? Look forward to hearing from you

Hello, I did it last year and it was absolutely fantastic !
This year that will be my wife and my daughter who will do it in the second session of May.
You'll meet people from all over the world, a great experience for you. And please don't spoil the surprise about the gift at the end of the tour... :-)

Ah lovely- there's absolutely no way I'd want to spoil the surprise for anyone's else so I definitely won't reveal the gift. Can you tell me a bit about your experience last year? I am keen to know what sort of price food and drink is in Denmark as I know not all of it is included and I am staying an extra night. I am also keen to know what the discount is like in the employee store- I read somewhere that is was better for bigger more expensive items. I can't wait for the whole experience!

Unfortunately, what happens in the employee store, stays in the employee store :)

For those of us in the UK the discount is not so much now given the dive in the value of sterling.

Ah sorry Huw, I know it's all very private as you surrender cameras and phones etc, I just thought I had read on a blog somewhere from a couple of years ago that someone put a percentage but I was wrong, they just wrote about considerable discount. Anyway I still cannot wait for all of it, especially the bits where you are allowed no phone or camera- clearing some brain space to take mental images!

You're in for a wonderful time! For a guy from the USA, Danish restaurant food is a little on the expensive side, but there are lots of smaller vendors to get food for reasonable prices while in Denmark.

Ah yes, the employee store sure is a great time. A lot of the European attendees went absolutely wild with the purchases. But the discount is appreciable enough, even at DKK prices, that I probably could've bought more for the sake of savings! I would recommend visiting the Danish version of the [email protected] website before going to note the prices of sets you want in Danish kroner. Convert those prices to pounds, and make a list of all of them so that when you get to the store and discover the discounts within, you have a good idea of what is "worth" the purchase. That's what I did.

Anyway, the store is only one small delight in 2.5 days full of amazement. I wish I could go back there now!

Thanks for your reply-indeed the shop is a small part- I cannot wait to get down into the vault and also meet the designers. Also looking forward to the Lego building challenges. It's really nice to hear about everyone's positive experiences!

No phones!? Sounds like the security is stricter than an army base!

I doubt those selected for the tour would do anything foolish.

I see them as very diehard and loyal fans to the brand. Throughout the past years none of those attended the tours tried to spoil the secrecy with tour details, or expose the mystery gift or the discount rates etc. I doubt they sign any NDAs, so without NDA and yet still able to keep quiet till all the tours for that year are over only a loyal fan is able to do that.

The restriction on phones they're talking about is for the employee store—there's pretty much nothing bootleggers could learn from that that they couldn't learn from any other store that sold current product. The restriction on phones there probably has more to do with keeping visitors from recording specific discounts and posting them publicly online, which given the track record of the AFOL community would almost certainly result in disgruntled fans whining about not being able to get those kinds of prices themselves.

Damn. After reading first post, I totally thought this thread was headed in a different direction....

Well that's kind of what I wanted- I wanted it to go in the direction of finding other participants of the tour!

Was just thinking about this. I think LEGO should also giveaway these trips to Billund and the tour in random CMF packs.
