Are you seeing rogue ads on the main site?

Our ad provider has been informed that they are appearing and is working to remove them:

We have been aware of these recent bad ads coming through as well for the past few days. Just so that you know what we're doing on our end behind the scenes, our Ad Ops team utilizes real-time automated scanning technology running 24/7 to ensure the best ad quality is being delivered to your users for every ad view. Unfortunately, this system has not been successful in picking up all of the malicious mobile redirects that have come through yet. This problem is also not isolated to Playwire and is being experienced by users across the internet.  The following link is from Google and demonstrates the widespread nature of this issue:!msg/chrome/AzyvOJ1xcYg/L354tQk1BAAJ.

As we continue our investigation, we are raising the price floors and pausing specific ad providers we're working with to combat them being able to serve in our network. The domains we know of have already been blocked within all ad providers' interfaces.

This is our top priority right now, and are working to have this resolved immediately.

To help us out further, can you please try to obtain the following information about the complaints that surfaced on your end?

  • Mobile device used: Is it only Android or has this been seen on iOS as well?
  • When was the last date in which this has been brought to your attention?
  • Mobile browser used:
  • Do you happen to know what the user-flow was on how any of the ad complaints that have come in arrived to your website (i.e. Facebook article post, going directly to your website, etc.)?

If you continue to see them, please reply here and if possible provide the information requested.

My husband got one just now on his Pixel using Chrome, he went right to Brickset from Google home page. Is that all the information you need?

I stay logged in so I haven't seen any.

Just now, while browsing a set on with Chrome (nothing to do with Facebook like the scam site suggests):

Even if you press the back button instead of OK, it still redirects you there:

^ Might be a handset issue, rather than a site issue? And just because I can't believe it - 96 tabs!?!?!?!?

No, it was a rogue advert.

And 96 tabs is a rarity for me - usually it just says ":)"
