Brickseek clarification

Does anyone know what the difference is on brickseek between the "on hand' quantity and the "Saleable" quantity?  Does anyone have luck going in where an on hand quantity shows stock, but the saleable does not?

I am assuming that means for display purposes, or they stick one in for the scanning systems until it actually hits the store - it may not be physically there,  but in their space management/merchandising and register systems with a "start to sell" date so things aren't scanned before the release.  Theory.

Sometimes it represents damaged items that are not on the shelf, waiting for salvage.
