LEGO STUDIOS Moviemaker Set for Win98

Hello everyone,

This is an old topic but I need your help.

I acquired the set 1349 LS Steven Spielberg Moviemaker Set without the original software but I have already found the version for Windows XP.

Now I'm searching for the English version for Windows 98 and I can't found nowhere

Can someone share the installation CD in English of LEGO Mindstorms Vision Command for Windows 98 or where can I download the software in English??

Any help appreciated...

Just be aware, running anything in older versions of Windows is a massive cans of worms (no, nothing to do with Lego Ideas announcements) - a virtual machine is the only way to do it safely, but that's quite technical... Just don't connect it to the internet!

I have this, and can probably make an ISO to share.  However, I probably won't get to it until after March 19.  Just about every waking moment I have right now is dedicated toward building out a display for the Brickworld Indianapolis event.  If you don't find another offer from someone and don't hear from me again after March 19, drop me a note to remind me.

Or some dedicated real hardware (if you get access to old computer parts or got that floating around somewhere and without internet, too. (no network/internet connectivity is the important part)

^That's why I still have a few ancient laptops, including a Gateway Solo 9100 from 1998. A virtual machine is great until you need a 3.5" floppy or a serial connection.

I don't find there's any need for old hardware these days. I have a few VMs that are always running, including one that monitors my home power usage via a serial cable connected up the one of the host machine's USB ports (not sure what the adapter is called). Not only was I able to get rid of a few bits of big old hardware (more room for Lego), but it also saves quite a lot of electricity!

If you ever need to read a physical floppy disk, then USB floppy drives are pretty cheap on eBay (less than £7 for a brand new one), and these can also be plumbed up to virtual machines (or you can even convert the disks into images).

^ sometimes edgecases still exist.. i know of someone IRL still using a win98 machine isolated due to some expensive and hard to replace software requiring a parallel port dongle, have fun getting that to new hardware
