Brickset Bonus Ball Bonanza - UK Lottery Draw 28th January 2017

Brickset Bonus Ball Bonanza - UK Lottery Draw 28th January 2017

I noticed the draw had gone missing this week, so thought I’d step up to the plate and do it :-)

If any new people have recently joined and wonder what this is, it's simple. Answer a question, and get a number based on your post in order between 1 and 59 for the UK national lottery bonus ball.  If your number gets drawn on Saturday night you win the prize.  If you don't make the first 59 replies, well there's always next week to be a little quicker.

This weeks prize….. well as there’s so much love for LEGO helicopters ;-) I’d thought I’d stick in a City #30311, and to add to the pot, a Nexo Knights #30372

So speaking of stepping up to the plate…. shoes! What are your favourite shoes? Or what shoes would you like to own if you could afford them? Do you have a pair with memories? A pair that makes you feel good? A sexy pair? A lucky pair? Whatever… Feel free to post pics (as long as they’re not too big) or links.

Nothing too fancy for me - but I live and die in Adidas Superstars and love getting new colourways. I have a few pairs for day to day, plus some MISB (yes, really). Dark colours for crap and wet weather, and light colours for good weather. Plus a vivid green pair for best.

These are the latest on my want list...

Post away!

Flip flops. Because if I'm wearing them it means I'm at the beach.

My olive green wellies that I keep in the boot of my car. Lost count of the number of times they've bailed me out, mud, floods....

Great stepping up to the plate mate and an original question!

    I love Clarks...
My favourite everyday wearing pair will be the 'Hamble Oak' brogues - been in a bit of limbo since I'm not allowed to wear heels anymore but I wear dresses all the time so it needs to be elegant. These are soooo comfortable and look pretty nice too. Started with a pair in tan, then I've in black, than one (on sale) tan with pink and a green one for my brother's wedding (on sale too). Before you think I'm an addict, this is over a period of 2 years :) you can see two of them in the picture.

A third shoe is shown, it's my all time favourite one (Clark's again) with a little kitten heel. My 9inch ones got tossed but for a special occasion I get these out, I feel so feminine and fancy in these, and I feel Gene Kelly could pop by any minute and we start tapping the night away. They are very, very, very, very old but when I'm in need of cheering up I'll put these on for a little while :)

I do miss heels but on the flip side, at least I can use my money for Lego instead of Loub 's
(Not that I ever owned a pair of those ;) )

Edit - made the picture size smaller

Another Adidas Originals fan here  I'm normally wearing Gazelles, Spezials, Topangas or Hamburgs (not keen on the shell-toe personally) - they all look very similar.

I wish you could still get them (or that Adidas revived them) but my favourite childhood trainers were Adidas Avengers. I went through plenty of those, and I do remember laughing uncontrollably when my mate got a pair, put them on in his conservatory and then stepped out into the garden, first step out was straight into dog shite that his dog "lady" had left on the patio.

I wear Chuck Taylor All-stars more often than not. I get teased because I have them in red, black, grey, pink, purple, and light blue and I coordinate, but they're low key, bright, and comfortable and my days demand all three things.

My neon yellow Nike Air Max - I saved so hard and bought them in New York - couldn't get them in England at the time :-) oh or maybe my Buffalo boots - very popular when I lived in Germany, made me 2 inches taller - then I wore them home to England and everyone was like "what the hell are you wearing?!" - good memories...

I do dislike how trendy Converse are in the UK right now, because you used to be able to get them for coppers (£15 a pair) - and now they're £45 a pair. My wife has 24 pairs of low converse in an array of colours, and I have a couple of pairs. Please disregard this post for entry purposes, I already have another one in.

Honestly, as long as it fits, looks decent, and the supports feel like they are in the right place, that is my favorite pair of shoes!

Another Adidas Originals fan. Just like @monkeyhanger I like any without that horrific shell toe. I currently have these in my collection sitting in the Lego Shed.

    ....

I swear one day ill fly the helicopter straight into the lighthouse so Lego and everybody else can move on to something else !

I won last raffle so I don't want to be in this one. I just wanted to say that...

Is Bendybadger alright...? He's been kinda missing. I've dealt with many inhabitants of the animal kingdom but I'm not really familiar with Badger behavior (come on .. do you really need an extra vowel there :/ ).

    Anyways good luck and Godspeed

During the week it's a boring sensible shoe for work but otherwise you can't go wrong with a nice pair of slippers. Tartan ones of course.
must be showing my age when I look forward to Christmas and receiving a new pair of slippers.

I like Pumas as I can count on them to fit nicely. Plus I really like big cats so win-win

Doc Martin's. I used to live in a town where I could get Doc Martin's from a store that sold 'irregular' shoes, i.e. shoes that had a bad stitch or the wrong color soles or whatever. I was paying way less than half price for shoes that essentially had nothing wrong with them.

I miss that place because no way I'm paying full price for Doc Martin's now.

I'd say LEGO shoes, but I dare say they'd be a bit uncomfortable for walking around in :oS

Chuck Taylor II's are my jam. Also love Rockports for work. Most comfortable dress shoe I've had.

not very picky. they just have to be comfortable and keeping the toes warm... (cold toes suck when waiting at train station with the usual delays)

New Balance trainers; they're the only make I've found that have different width fittings! I've tried virtually all other makes, but they're the only ones that I don't seem to wreck, due to my annoyingly wide feet!

Not a shoe as such, but whenever I have an excuse to wear my Yaktrax, I love it! You can pretty much run around on ice that you would otherwise have trouble walking slowly on. It's like enabling God mode IRL.

I love wearing my Bass boat shoes, because I only wear them when I have the opportunity to go to the boat.

If it is okay, I would like to volunteer to do the bonus draw next week.

Used to love my Docs, and converse but these days whatever fits. I've only got size 6 feet and so many shops start at 7, which is a real pain in the arse.

Crocs - you can go anywhere with them in the summer

A pair of Redwing boots I've worn everyday for the last 5? years. Unfortunately I don't think they have too much life left in them.

Any Jordan's would be my shoe of choice, but I mostly stick to actually buying Chuck Taylor's for casual wear.
  • MextenMexten Member Posts: 73
My favorite ones are these Converse. I bought them about 10 years ago and they are all worn out now, but when the weather is right I still wear them from time to time.

My absolute faves were these Nikes that looked like this but in black:

Don't know the name but damn I miss them. Nowadays, any Nike or Adidas gym shoes that's cushiony does it for me.

I live in my Cat desert boots day in, day out.
If I (she)had the money, a trip to London to pick up a few pairs of Christian Louboutin for the wife would happen. She really likes them & I'd like to see her in them.

I had a pair of Adidas running shoes with blue stripes that I wore for years until eventually the soles started separating from the rest of the shoe.

I have a pair of Salomon boots that I love. Got them sent from Europe as you cant get them here. Basically ski boots without the 'ski'. Warm, dry and comfy as hell, perfect when its miserable weather. The only issue with them is that they aren't the best for driving.

Skechers men's trainers. I have, through extensive touring of shoe shops (which ironically wore out my shoes even further), learned that these are the only shoes that fit my feet. Apparently women aren't supposed to have wide feet, or at least this is what the paucity of suitable women's trainers is trying to tell me. :P

My favorite boots for the weekend:

These can take me anywhere on my hikes. Usually there's a bit more mud on them, but the past few weeks have been rather dry and cold over here. So frozen ground instead of the usual muddy ground :)

Bought a pair of leather flo-jo flip flops ten years ago. I've worn them every summer since and the still look brand new.

Not really that bothered about shoes. However, my favourite footwear has to be the slippers from Arthur Christmas.

^ Same but some times the swoosh isn't even black.
