Most of this theme doesn't have a solid pair in terms of design which is quite frustrating, as I'd normally just go with the best one. How can one for example purchase 41595 - Belle without purchasing 41596 - Beast. I've got to make some serious decisions before next Wednesday and how I'll be approaching this theme...

I've been fairly anti BrickHeads but am gradually being swayed into seeing the cute appeal, mainly because of Belle and now Captain Jack and also because I checked out the amazing MOCs done by @CM4S on Flickr (really - they're brilliant).
I can imagine having them lined up on my desk looking pretty cool.
I'm probably going to end up buying them all, aren't I? Might as well start now since I'm sure they'll go on to include other IPs I won't be able to resist...

I hearby nickname him Streaky Jack.

    Everything is better with bacon.

(I have absolutely no desire to purchase or collect any of these things, but I have no doubt that they will sell well.  More gobs of cash for little effort.

Whatever helps bring the Old Fishing Store to market.  Silly Disney Princess Palace Pets and licensed BrickHeads.)

I was just planning to get the Marvel ones, but @xiahna saw the Beauty & Beast ones, so they're on the list now. A minor disappointment with these, my SDCC Cap was missing one of the white round 1x1 tiles with the bar, the only missing part TLG couldn't send me replacement, I was hoping for a spare with the retail release Cap, but they haven't used that part for that Cap...

This is the type of thing where if l buy one of them l need to get all of them. So not sure if l should get all or none yet

I'm still on the fence with these. The problem is that individually the price is relatively low for quite a cool product so I can imagine that somewhere down the line I will buy one and then have to have them all...
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
Yeah am on the fence. The question is whether you want to commit early on to an inevitable long running series. My gut feel is am unsure if they will be really sort after too, but I can see the SDCC and comic con ones shooting up post the release as some people will have to have them all.

Going to buy the ones I like, no qualms about leaving the others.

Were these not meant to be out today? Can't order online even VIP.
  • theLEGOmantheLEGOman Member Posts: 1,524
You can add them to your basket in the UK.
  • FireheartFireheart Member Posts: 631

I've ordered them.. From about 07:00 today..
  • FireheartFireheart Member Posts: 631
There is a limit of 3... And as we know now this is for the lifetime of the product against the VIP account..

I'm sure this was a limit of 20 when it was "coming soon" status.. So maybe a limit of 3 while only available for VIP...?
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,477
20 seems to be the standard limit on most products, they probably hadn't adjusted it before they were actually available
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
In fairness, only a reseller would want 20, so that's fair enough.

Yes you are correct, I hadn't fully logged in! Limit is 3.

Buying 5 and a keychain gets you the batman poly too, so that seems a good deal all round.

I'd be all over some Star Wars characters but no interest in the ones released to date.
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
Isn't there an agreement where Lego don't do collectible Star Wars figures as stand alone, like CMF etc as it impacts separate licenses that are held by other companies for stand alone figures?
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,477
There was s an interesting side note to this - Funko POP Vinyl Marvel or Star Wars characters have to be bobbleheads rather than figures supposedly  because of licence agreement conflicts. If LEGO are able to do Superhero Brickheadz then there is s at least a chance for Star Wars

If they are now allowed to do the Star Wars "constraction" figures, I don't see why they couldn't do BrickHeadz. Like those constraction figures, and unlike individual figs, BrickHeadz would probably qualify more as building kits rather than regular action figures (assuming the exclusivity of that license still stands in the first place).

I guess that means 9 pm PST is when they will be available to be added to the basket?
  • dspigeldspigel Member Posts: 478
I was able to place an order early this morning.
  • DedgeckoDedgecko Member Posts: 798
I'll pick up most of these when they hit $8 or so.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,710
I heard the PotC ones should be announced on Febuary 18th even though they are pictured on the back of the Disney boxes.

There is lots of speculation about it but nobody knows, outside of Lego and the companies involved. No doubt Lego is perfectly happy that fans think there is such an agreement as it gives an excuse not to do things like SW CMF. I imagine it is more that selling individual SW figures would impact sales of their own much larger sets.

Gotta love the jump in price for the SDCC line went from an average of 80 bucks a set to now the base price of 200
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
^ I said that one happen! Having said that, no interest in buying the SDCC ones. £150 for such a small amount of parts is silly.
  • FireheartFireheart Member Posts: 631
^ I didn't pay that for the set, but did notice they have jumped in price. And even got an extra one a few weeks ago in the UK, off eBay BNIB for £69.95.. I was the only bidder...
If you take into account the cost of going to SDCC for 4 days, each set is on a different day. And then queuing, being lucky enough to get the chance to get them etc. Then paying a premium for a limited edition 1/1500 set is a good deal to me.

Its a theme that I wanted to collect from the 1st edition through.. And the SDCC ones are pre 1st edition.

^Each to their own for collecting... It's what makes Lego collectors different, in that I'm sure you like a theme and collect it, but others think it's a over priced waste of money..
Some even go to the dark side and purchase LEPIN...

But at the same time we all are AFOL..

    So say we AFOL. LOL.

I was being weird...about the numbering. I don't know if I'll jump on board or not to be honest with you. They're interesting designs, certainly something different than a dwelling or vehicle with minifigure. I would have liked to see them come in at a 6.99 price. But I'd also like to be 25 and single again and that ain't happening either.

Took delivery of the 10 today, not bad given you can get 2 batman polybags across the two orders. I like some better than others I must say. The beauty and beast are really nice.

Got my first 4 yesterday! They're a lot heavier than I imagined.. some like to fall backwards. But they're really cool - I can't wait to make my own. They should make a DIY kit or something

@CM4S, you could just do what I did & order some just for the parts, got a Batgirl plus extra copies of Belle, Beast & Black Widow (second copy of each). Hoping to see the eyes show up on BrickLink at some point soonish, so I can grab several more pairs.

You tend to get 3 eyes in a pack, so for every 2 you buy you have an extra set.

Cool, that's awesome to know, I figured there might be some spare parts & I did hope the eyes might be included in that. With SDCC ones, there were no spares, which was annoying as my Cap & Iron Man set was missing a couple of items, which led to a friend generating this meme for me...

Just ordered all of them from the LEGO Store. And now we wait...

Might be fun to build a 'blogzilly' one, saw a few talented people building some after their avatars. Hmm...how to do the glasses...??!

Also, where does one go to find instructions and help in order to build the Comic-con sets? I'm not looking for the EXACT parts, but more like Beatlemania. I'm willing to buy or create stickerage.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,710
The BrickHeadz complement my comic book / superhero shelve quite nicely :)

My Brickheadz order has arrived, looking forward to building the Marvel ones & parting out the extras. I've been told by @xiahna I can build Belle & Beast, but I will have to disassemble them again if I do, so she can build them, so I think I'll just leave them.

I found some youtube videos with stop motion builds of each figure. It shows the parts being built from the ground up. You could watch those and create a parts list off it.

Just finished building my Marvel Brickheadz order, the Cap & Iron Man ones are very different sitting next to the SDCC Brickheadz, definitely thinking the Comic Con ones are meant to be the comics versions of the characters. Hoping we might see a few more comics based Brickheadz, including a few of these guys...
