Cincinnati OH here!

I LOVED Legos when I was a kid. (And I know you aren't supposed to call them "Legos," but I always have and it's hard to stop).  My favorites were the space series, and at one time I had all of the current sets.  That time quickly passed of course, because there are always new ones out.  But I still have those old sets socked away.  I also had some of the "expert" sets from back in the day: the blue race car and the yellow construction vehicles and the motors and gears.  Loved that!

A few years ago I revisited my childhood obsession and started buying a few sets again, beginning with Robie House, which is fantastic.  Now I have a lot of Creator sets - which are my favorites - and quite a few Star Wars sets.  (Except for the disastrous trilogy ... I don't buy any of those.)

This looks like an awesome place.  I look forward to hanging around!

Cheers,

-Ted

Thanks!  Yes, selling them is painful, but, well ... I guess I can buy them back down the line at some point.  I actually had another of the X-Wing fighter that I built ... LOVED that one.  Such a cool model.

Hi Ted! Welcome to the forum! Lego Space is remembered fondly here, and of course Star Wars  and Creator sets have a lot of appeal. I am an OT purist (no prequels, no TV shows, no new films, and at the moment, not even "same time as OT" films - looking at you, R1). You'll have fun, I'm sure.

Welcome from Columbus. You seem to have a lot of good old sets. It's always fun to put together old sets hoping that it has all pieces.

Welcome from a fellow Cincinnatian!  I am an SW OT collector(with some of the better/cooler PT/CW/Rebels sets thrown in) and a Superheroes collector.  This is a fantastic forum!

Thanks, Goldchains!  Apparently there is a local Lego group / club here.  I haven't met up with those guys yet, but I heard about it last summer when I went to a local comic book store.  (I also love collecting comics.)  The place is called Up Up and Away, and apparently the owner lets the group meet up there occasionally.  They have a couple fantastic comic book covers they recreated as murals with Lego.  I'll see if I can find some pics and will post them.

Here they are ... Batman Year One, and the classic Green Lantern Green Arrow #76 by Neal Adams.  It's hard to tell but these are about 8-9 feet tall!
