Wrong bag distribution in my 10232 Palace Cinema!

So I just got 10232 tonight after making a few returns. It was the last copy they had on shelves at the Raleigh NC Lego store. But once I got home and started building, something was off. I was having more difficulty than usual finding certain pieces. First the girl's hair, then parts for the car... So I moved onto the cinema itself. That's when it became apparent that I had too many of certain pieces and that I was missing other pieces.
So what's the best course of action? I know I can go onto Lego's site and request individual bricks that were missing from a set, but I have no idea how many bricks we are talking here. Is there a good way to contact them and explain what's going on, and have them quickly fix it?
Thanks for any suggestions! This is a brand new issue for me.

Look how many 2x2 gray tiles I have left after the sidewalk is completed!

The problem was most evident when I couldn't find the 4 brown 2x1 bricks with holes, you know, to connect this to other modulars?

Have you already opened all the bags? I've heard of instances where people got whole bags replaced, so if you call them they might be able to figure out which bags are missing and which bags you might have extra. Maybe try to find an unboxing review (check Eurobricks, they often have detailed reviews) or the thread here titled something like "how many bags...?" to figure out some of it yourself before you call to speed things up.

So far I opened all marked bag 1. That's it.
Thanks for the advice! I will dig up some old threads.

So apparently there are 8 bags marked 1. Cool.

Ok, Lego customer service has been emailed. We shall see what they say.

LEGO CS should help. The more worrisome question is: Are others also having this issue in a 'new' batch of Palace Cinemas (like the 39R1 Fire Brigades)?

^Good question. Everyone, send your unopened Palace Cinemas to me and I'll inspect em! ;)

Something similar happen to me with #31026 Bike Shop & Café, but this particular set does not have numbered bags; so after contacting CS I had to cross-reference the parts I got vs. the list in the instructions manual to identify the ones missing. Instead of ordering the individual parts, I sent them the list on an email and got the missing parts within a week.

Hopefully it's easier for you since the bags are numbered. Just put the set on hold and move to the next one.

Look at the bright side: you just got a bunch of parts for free :-)
