Bali Padda, currently TLG's COO, will replace Jørgen Vig Knudstorp as CEO on 01 Jan 2017. Knudstorp will become chairman of TLG’s board and lead the new Lego Brand Group. (also announced today)

Lots of leadership changes for TGL, considering last month's announcement that CFO John Goodwin will leave next June. Will be interesting to find out of this has any impact on the company's current course.

Just read an article on this. Since Knudstorp is still on the board, he should be able to help Bali Padda and I don't think anything will change for the worse; possibly change for the better.

That would be neat if he began a crusade against Lepin and carried a claymore around with him to show his dedication to slaying counterfits/knock-offs. Probably won't happen but it would be cool...

Generally speaking the CEO and even board of a company, they provide direction; typically long term - they also are responsible for profits.  With that being said, they have very little, if ANYTHING to do with the day to day.  So I doubt we would see much on the Customer/Play level - more organization changes if any - right now things seem pretty good for TLG.

"Toy brick maker Lego is to appoint its second boss this year.

Brit Bali Padda, 61, has been pushed aside by the Danish company after just eight months in the hot seat to be replaced by a younger man.

The new chief will be 51-year-old Niels B Christiansen who will take over from 1 October, when Mr Padda "will assume a special advisory role with Lego Brand Group", the company said.

Mr Padda has been with the company for 15 years. Mr Christiansen is a former McKinsey management consulant and was most recently chief executive of Danfoss, a Danish technology company."

Lego last year increased sales to a record DKr37.9bn (£4.61bn).

This BBC article does say Bali was never intended to be a long-term appointment.

A point which is omitted in the Live feed, in favour of saying he was "pushed aside"....
