Loft find

Finally found the 80s Lego that I knew was tucked away in my loft.  Only been trying to find it for 10 years...

It would be fun to see images of these sets built if you are planning on doing that!  I'd love to own a few old Lego sets.

AWESOME town selection you had, are you planning on keeping them? If so, some of those sets are hard to come by complete (particularly the #6371 gas station), as long as you have the stickers and base plate that was only for that set that is (though there is a guy in the UK that makes repros of those stickers, pre cut on the sheet as well). Guessing by some of the train track pieces you may have had a #7722 as well?

That is amazing! What a fantastic looking collection. Of course my brain is having images of a Toy Story style story of all the minifigs who have been trapped in the box for all these years.

I'm very jealous of your childhood collection - particularly that ice cream cart!
i had so much fun remaking my childhood collection - enjoy putting yours back together (if that's what you're going to do!)
Oh and hurrah for parents who don't throw/give your toys away!

Actually it appears they have two ice cream carts if I see them  in the picture correctly ;)
Finding my old collection got me back into LEGO, and buying huge lots of old city sets to complete my 80's Town collection.
Ditto on parents not just chucking them away or into a garage or boot sale.

The rest of the loft is stuffed full with unopened Lego from the last 7 years, so rarely get to dig deep in there without it being a major weekend effort.

Have another ice cream tub full of Lego, so probably after Christmas when I get time, think I'll sit down and have a rebuild of everything.  Most looks in very good condition, especially the stickered stuff, considering it's 30 years old.

Don't have any trains - I bought the track as I planned to get one but never did in the end.

^^Hmmm, that game looks really familiar. I'll have to have look through the old board games my parents put into storage.

I think that Donkey Kong Game and watch is rather a pricey collectable (if it is there and works that is)

G&W DK, boxed, on eBay UK, BIN for £120.

3 minifigures and a Lego elephant I was given, approx £120 value.

G&W used to fetch more if I recall, I do think Lego is more enjoyable and collectable though.

I like the black and white drawings on the game cards.

I want the contents of your loft please.

That is the most fantastic find!! I'd have said so even before seeing the non-Lego stuff, but that's just the icing on the cake. :)

It is all in such good condition it begs the question, did you actually play with it at all when you were a child?? I have many of the same sets in my original collection and although I have most of the parts, the instructions and stickers are all in bad shape.

I just happened onto a box with some 7722 parts in it (engine base and battery car, track switch, etc...) if you want to fill that collection out?

    Awesome find though!

Might have been the parents who ensured it stayed in good shape ;) That's definitely the case for my 80's Lego: almost all boxes/instructions are in close to mint condition.

That is what I do now as the Lego mad uncle. I save all the boxes from the bin and stash them away in the loft in bags. My sister thinks I am daft, but if my nephew turns out to be a bit OCD like me he will want them in years to come.

Nice find. When I came out of my dark ages a few years ago my parents told me there was a few bricks in their loft. Turned out to be all my old 1980s Technic and Classic Space. Maybe 25-30 sets. Sadly no instructions but seeing the pieces I could instantly remember the old sets and found Brickset to get more information to rebuild everything.

Not having the instructions stinks. Yeah you can get copies, but I prefer originals. The problem with Classic Space is many of the instruction books are crazy expensive.

Game & Watch!! Video games have been a large part of my life, more so than my collection of robot toys and Lego. My first electronic game was the TV Pong console, used to have the G&W Fireman, Octopus, Parachute and Chef at various points in the past among other portable electronic games like Pacman, Galaxian etc, but now all gone :(

Nintendo did a remake of some of the G&W a few years back, targeted at collectors no doubt. Now I just play them on phones & tablets.

Love that Star Wars Escape from Death Star game!  That's one of the first games I remember getting back in the day, and I still have a complete copy.  My 5-year-old is expressing interest, maybe it's time to break it out again.

And of course, awesome LEGO collection...

I had Snoopy Tennis on G&W. It's still in my loft actually. No box though! I really must go up there and sort through my childhood Lego. I have #918-1 One Man Space Ship which one of my first sets up there somewhere. Might be time to dust it off.

How big is your loft ????
The Lego stash was tucked away next to One-eyed Willie's treasure map, behind Dorian Grey's mirror.
