@legonut80 You do know this is the year of the horse? Waiting for LEGO to bring out the appropriate animal set for the year. Hope Número Quatro ain't that large!
How many minutes do you get off after this one? My mom used to stay in the hospital a week after each of us arrived because That was her only break with six kids over 14 years.
Any good LEGO to build while you are at the hospital? Or maybe a little sleep sounds like a much better option!!! Best wishes!

It's still the year of the Snake for another 10 days. @legonut80 if the baby comes soon as you hope, you'd better start looking for a good deal on a 10250. I bought one for my baby and spent way too much on it.

Yup, I know that Jan 31st the fireworks really start. Not a good ten days to be traveling in China for sure!

Fingers are crossed that the Year of the Horse set will be made in infinite quantities with the size of this potential market. Now that the government is officially changing the policy of allowing couples composed of two only children to have two instead of one child, there probably will not be a maternity ward bed available in China for about a decade.

Let's hope that the logistics folks at TLG are aware of this monumental change and don't rely on non-Chinese country regional buyers to think that they don't need this product. Eventually there could be more Chinese living outside of China than within the country; let's make them well aware of this change so that they address this demographic shift. The last thing we need is another Marina Bay Sands limited distribution plan. Got it, LEGO? Asia and Asians do matter. Nuff said.

Today is a good day! The post brought the sealed Bounty Hunter Cube Dude set which I purchased off eBay for £85.00, a very fair price I thought. I'm over the moon with the set, it's no longer sealed of course but not built yet as I'm on daddy day care today. I was so chuffed with the contents of the box, a glossy instruction book with design spec that surpasses all other instruction books and individually baggied Cube Dudes with a character card in each bag. Gonna build 'em with my boy when he get's back from school.

Just built a Z-95 Headhunter #75004 that I got at a great deal on ebay for only $30 -- box had a few small dents but otherwise perfect. Now I've got a good sized snub-fighter fleet put together -- Y-wing #9495, X-wing #9493, A-wing #75003, Tie Fighter #9492 -- all at the same scale. Looking forward to the re-release of the B-wing at the same scale, and maybe if I'm careful I can pick up a Tie Advanced #8017 without paying too much.

OMG, I found out that someone had built a Super Star Destroyer almost 13 feet long with a weight of 100 Kg on LDD:

Status: Tired. I bought a lot of 40kg and have been washing it in batches all day, some nice finds though including: #4195 #7075 #4842 #79010 #10193 and several more, so it will be worth it in the end.

Got several 2014 sets today! (My Grandpa had the pleasure to buy them for me, he loves doing that and for me it is great that I don't have to drive into the city). Technic, Friends and Legends of Chima (the Legend Beast boxes are cute).

Found out today that a new exclusive will be revealed at the local Lego convention this March.

If the press release is delayed in any way, I'll be sure to give y'all some coverage of the set.

I imagine so, unless you could peel off confirmed padawan points stickers and apply them to the pixmania box. Willing to hang on, won't take the Argos one back until the pixmania confirmed Order has shipped.

Just finished watching the movie. It was incredible. I won't give away any spoilers. Lots of inspiration for builds in the movie. To be honest I think the movie was more oriented toward AFOLs. Lots of good references and a message at the end which should resonate with many AFOLs. That being said my kids, and their friends, absolutely loved it. Many, many sales ahead for TLG as a result of this movie. Well done.

My family and I also attended a screening of The LEGO Movie this morning. I fully agree with this assessment of the movie. We all thoroughly enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to watching it again in a theater soon. I will then need to own it on DVD so I can view it regularly.

I went to the movie with several lug members and some staff from one of the local stores we invited and ran into both Sean Kenney & David Pagano too, loved it just like @SirBen & @sidersdd, it was just fantastic all around. I thought I had learned too much flipping through the books and such and i was way off... i couldn't be more happy with it and can't wait to see it again. Was also able to get the #30280 polybag and had a nice afternoon out with some of my buddies. A great day all in all.

Chuckling to myself as I opened my Bricks and Pieces order to find I'd messed up the quantities and found I'd accidentally ordered 19 1x4x6 door frames instead of 1 door frame, and 1 1x2x3 window frame instead of 19 of them. At least I got the 19 glass panels the right size. Shame they don't fit the door frames though ;-)

Wouldn't be so bad, but the 1x2x3 windows have now disappeared from Bricks and Pieces and are only available from the LRP - which take a lot longer to arrive.

Off to Bricklink then, or a radical redesign to incorporate 19 doors...

Looks like I'll have to take a trip back to the UK to see The LEGO Movie. It's just money and time that are a problem. I will be really disappointed if i miss out and have to wait for the DVD.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
@wil348 it's possible it will be showing in original voices in our neighbourhood, there are 2 cinemas near Toulouse that do that. Check to see if there's one near you before you do anything drastic :). If it doesn't play in English here my daughter will be asking to go see it in the UK too probably.

According to the CGR cinema in La Rochelle, April is the earliest they will be doing VOSTF (The English version with French subtitles) for The LEGO Movie. Fingers crossed, but even if they don't do it in English, hopefully the DVD isn't too long a wait.

Question is when does the DVD come out? I'm not sure his long Warner films typically take to release on DVD, however I remember that Wreck it Ralph (Disney) came out about 5 months after.

In the US at least, the time between theater release and the DVD coming out has constantly been shrinking. I imagine you are probably looking at a May/June release date, depending on how long it stays in theaters.

I've decided to go see it in French when it's out over here. I can admire the beautiful animation even if I speak very little French! I'll probably play the videogame before so I can understand what's happening, it'll actually be a pretty good French lesson for me.

Also I'll probably import the DVD from the US when it's out over there as we have two region 1 DVD players in our house.

Been a long time since I've ventured on here, all rather busy, sold a car for a tidy profit so spent a portion of that on Lego and the next wheeling and dealing Italian. Got myself the Octan Garage, power functions for the horizon express and managed to win on eBay a BNIB Maersk train for comparatively a very modest sum, rather pleased with that. Also got my brother the Coast Guard Helicopter seems to be no longer available through shops, also has a slightly different shark 'n all.

Just cracked open my Pixmania supplied Jabba's sailbarge - contemplating how I can get a nice nose on it with some mods involving hinged wing plates and maybe upsize it for a few more shutters with the little 2 x 1 plate grilles rather than the crappy stickers.
