I was regretting having bought an enormous box of LEGO from a friend who is getting rid of his childhood collection. Then, as I was rummaging through Knight's Kingdom and City sets, I stumbled upon a Killer Croc Minifigure, then an original Riddler, then an Alfred the Butler!

All in all a very successful purchase it would seem as I have found (at least parts of) every 2006-2007 Batman set, numerous Star Wars sets and loads of Castle which will be very useful for parting out.

Kind of bummed out. Just opened my sealed #4954 set and it was not only missing the instructions but one of the bags was actually in a zip lock bag. Looks like it may have all the other sealed bags though. Bought it a year ago from Amazon so returns are out of the question. Kind of odd. I'll run an inventory of the parts during the week, ah well :(

Finished building the #6210 I picked up a week ago. You don't realise the true horror of the STAMP technique until you've bought a used set. It's horrendous.

The set itself is great, though. I put it on a couple of display stand pieces I had (can't find the piece on BL to show which ones) and paired it with #9496. I was worried about scale being an issue, but when the Sail Barge is elevated I think it works well.

Pulled out the winter sets. Now I have to figure out what trees go where. Next, the holiday train gets taken apart and inventoried so I can buy any missing parts and the missing power functions stuff. Luckily I received the $65 wheel assembly when I bought the set.

^ Those lovely stickers that go over multiple parts.
  • Steve_J_OMSteve_J_OM Member Posts: 999
@margot, yep, what @vitreolum said. There are a number of places where you have to put one sticker over two pieces, so when the set comes used it's a bit of a nightmare. Thankfully in this case the stickers were applied well, at least, and still stuck pretty well.

See page 32 of these instructions:

My friend left his job at the Shepherd's Bush brand store last week, I was a little upset, so he gave me his contact details so I could stay in contact with him and he sent me these to cheer me up. I also ordered the Winter Village Market and LEGO Marvel Superheroes for Wii U.

Status: Throwback Thursday. Recently re-purchased one of the first sets I ever had as a child, #6258 Smuggler's Shanty. My mother would kick my arse (Lego was bad enough as a child, let alone again as an adult, let alone a set I've already previously owned!) but OH MAN is it awesome.

Very Proud of the Kitchen on my part. Thanksgiving themed MOC. (The stove wasn't fully on when I took the Picture) At the time I dont have the brown 1x2's, 4's, and 6's to tile the dining room. However I will post future improvements. I also apologize for the quality this was taken on my phone.

@khmellymel Thanks for the support! I was ready to buy the Sears Tower on ebay when hubby said I should check the one I have - I was 99% sure I had the Willis Tower version - I was 100% wrong! Man I hate it when he's right!! Guess I'll save my $$ for the 23rd.

I received an invitation to go to the Cardiff VIP event, but can't make it due to living in France and not being able to make it back. So instead my parents are going to get me a sizable set of my choice.

    Knackered.

Spent the weekend officially partaking in my first LUG event with a Live Build. I'd like to say I did it on my own but time ran away this afternoon and thankfully other exhibitors were on hand to save the day. That said, was far more enjoyable building as a team against the clock than on my own. Thanks guys, had a great time. :-)

    And now I have a 1 of 1 limited edition Taj. ;-)

Caught up logging the Lego we purchased in Oct-Nov on the spreadsheet program I use. Was surprised how much we had bought, but hubby needed something to keep him off his foot after surgery - it worked.

Made my first order through Bricks and Pieces today...now all I have to do is wait the estimated 7-10 business days for it to arrive. Sigh....how will I make it that long without my red and orange leaves?

Waiting (for over a week now) for #40083 to be released, so I can order the #40058, #40059 and #10235. Maybay after the weekend. Lego, where you're waiting for?!?!

Received hubby's Christmas gift in the mail #8431 and decided to let him have it now as it was advertised to be factory sealed bags but one was a ziplock so decided it needs to be assembled so I can request replacement of any missing parts. He was totally surprised - he now has all of the large cranes Lego has put out (though we won't bother with the two other releases of this same set).

Gathered all my "freebie" holiday sets and boxed them together nicely during my lunch break. Will break out a design for a cool (haha get it) winter village layout that I have and MAYBE I will convince myself to break the seals on some of the holiday sets? Yeah right...

Thinking about getting the Winter Village sets down from the loft. But it's COLD up there and it's WARM in my living room...

^ I guess if you want a winter village, you'll just have to be willing to take a little bit of winter ;-)

^ It may be cold up there now @bricktuary. but it's only going to get colder as the days pass. I say get up there now before it gets even colder. :)

So, while my older kids were playing the new Lego Marvel Super Heroes game the 1 year old pulled the controller cable which knocked the console to the floor and scratched the game. A very deep scratch, so deep in fact that no amount of restoration will fix it, I've tried everything. So I called the publisher to get a replacement disc, the gentleman on the phone asked for the nature of my problem, info, name and email so that he could get the disc sent out to me.

Wow, that was easy and literally took less than 5 minutes, and free! 15 minutes later the email arrived telling me that someone would be emailing me in 2 business days to start working on my request, all I need to do is reply to said email with the nature of my problem, name, etc.

Yeah....now that's what I call customer service. So my Lego status today.....frustrated.

Just about to "finish" the current phase of my mod of the Heartlake High school for girls. :)
3 copies of the set used and a few extra pieces.
Next phase is the roof and I have to think about this for a while ...... I might need another set. :)
