I watched Thor The Dark World it was great I give it a 9/10, I realised why Lego decided not to make sets based on the movie as it has scenes which are scary and gory for children but it is filled with twists and turns.

We're off to a wedding tomorrow and the bride has suggested that my CFOL brings some Lego to keep him entertained in the evening. When I asked my wife if I could bring some as well, I was told NO! lol

@alijoezac Amazing! Always love seeing work in progress pics! Makes me think about doing this myself being I MIGHT actually have enough of the pieces to get it started!
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,710
Meh, The Lego Movie and Disney Princess sets seem to be amazing, DC Comics, City, Chima, Hero Factory, Ninjago still disappoint. I'm waiting to see the Super Heroes sets based off upcoming 2014 movies, and more Minecraft Micro World sets please!

Has taken delivery of 3 LEGO deliveries today for Christmas, 2 yesterday and 1 or 2 more expected next week.

Some may say I need help, but I say no I just need more space for storage ;-)

Status is birthday boy. My present..... Being left alone to build whatever I like. Question is do I push it and crack open the haunted house I picked up yesterday.

Anxiously awaiting my Amazon order, that being #75019, two clone lieutenants and two Lego shop minifigure polybags :-) I'm hoping I can build the motorized AT-TE that @CapnRex101 and I designed over the summer.

Oh, and the LDD file for the AT-TE is available to anyone who is interested (at no charge :-P )

At lego land windsor hotel in pirate room, it's so cool. My boy got 2 polybags.

    Getting frustrated.

I am finally stacking my shelving (have been all day) and it's proving difficult to work out the best angle of attack. I must have swapped stuff around half a dozen times in an attempt to make best use of the space.

I remember seeing @atkinsar's storage solution a few months ago and the look on his face when I asked how tedious it was. He wasn't wrong!

  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
.....and I have Toy Story why?
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
Ha ha, stick with it J, it's like a jigsaw you can put together in any order. You start one way and it's all going great, then you get to a size of box that just doesn't fit and back to the start you go.

I was mainly cursing Lego's box design department, who seemed to take great delight in developing 397 different shapes and sizes of box. Just one more reason to crack them all open really.

Beginners Luck as hubby was in TRU to take advantage of the sale today he grabbed two series 11 minifigs without feeling the packages! They were marked 2 for $5. He got the Elf and the Gingerbread Man, Those are my favs from the series. I had bought both off BL minus their base and accessories. He also picked up the lawnmower poly bag. His original reason for going was to get #42000 and #3185.

I hope I was early enough to get in on the Lego Inside Tour.
  • GoldchainsGoldchains Member Posts: 795
Purchased the Back to the Future set. Great box and instruction booklet. The car itself is a little meh, but good enough nonetheless. Pretty happy with it considering I only paid $20(used some of my VIP points lol).

I built my first Hero Factory set!
(I did not like it at all. It will be my last... back to 'proper' Lego for me)
  • bricktuarybricktuary Member Posts: 987
PS Shellz Bellz - 4954 is TOP of my current wish-list. I hope the build is good. I'm still checking eBay (UK) regularly for sensible prices....
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 Member Posts: 1,431
^ Most I will go on 4954 is $90. That's 50% over retail, which should be good enough for a used set. Everyone I've seen is overpriced.
  • AFFOL_Shellz_BellzAFFOL_Shellz_Bellz Member Posts: 1,263
@bricktuary It's definitely not on par with the modulars as a build in my opinion, but it didn't cost me as much either. It's a great start if one wanted to change it into a modular!

@Bosstone100 at $90 US it's actually only about 28% (RRP $69.99) over retail and it came out in '06 though I don't know when it EOL'd. In it's favor it is a 3 in 1 which for me is a bonus, and it's one of the few that could be placed next to a modular and not look terribly out of place. I'm thinking of turning it into an engineer's or lawyer's office by adding a sign as though a house has been repurposed into an office as is common in downtown areas here.

Floxed and angry. Trying to recover to the point where I can sit without pain. Don't trust the medical quack community: Cipro (and every other fluoroquinolone) is poison!
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 Member Posts: 1,431
@AFFOL_Shellz_Bellz : You are correct. It was $70 and not $60. In that case, I might go $100 plus shipping. It's a nice set and I'd like to have it but at a certain point, you have to decide whether it's worth spending more to get less or putting the money towards something that is currently selling at retail or less new.

@Bosstone100 I agree 100%, short of having a warehouse size building and an unlimited amount of funds (please Santa - LOL) we each make choices. Would love to turn this into a true modular.

Mine is: Finding that box of unopened polys really useful. Been cracking one open every few hours when I need a look away from essay and dissertation writing. Each poly only takes a few minutes to build, play around with and set up on my desk. Perfect amount of break!

    Just built the Winter Toy Shop that my daughter had tucked away. Soooo, that made me jump on a order for the last 2 sets I need in that series. The Winter Post Office and Bakery. I can't wait for them to arrive, it's like....Christmas! {girly scream}
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
Not happy. My son is currently flicking through the catalogue. He has just said to me, "I know it's girlie, but I want one of these". He walked over to me with his finger firmly planted on the Dolphin Cruiser.

I'm sure Genesis sung a song that would be appropriate right now. ;-)

The cruiser is a great set. I bought two. One for my daughter and one for me to modify to one that would better fit in to my city. I bought it at the same time as the new Coast Guard cutter and when my daughter is playing with the cruiser the Coast Guard keep interupting her fun to do inspections.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
@Legoboy its true, your boy has good taste because the Dolphin Cruiser is a great set. I was more excited to build it than my gf even!
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
Put simply, it ain't gonna happen.
  • BastaBasta Member Posts: 1,259
@Legoboy The Dolphin Cruiser is the only Friends set to interest me so far, I didn't like the colours though.

Lego Dolphin Cruiser 41015De-Freinding and extending.

I was going to order some more parts today to finish it off, but as I bought myself the Red Cargo train last night this will have to wait.

    @Basta

Mate, I love boats as much as the next guy, but I can't imagine owning even a 'standard' cruiser for Cheryl and Stacey to clamber over. Actually, maybe it would be alright. Maybe they could fall-off overboard or something. Does it have propellers? How big?

Getting really worried about the space in the bedroom now, baby number 4 is due in January and where the baby will sleep is a large pile of boxes that overflows from the wardrobe.
  • margotmargot Member Posts: 2,308
Going to a 6 hour Mindstorms class at my son's school. Parents of kids who are excelling in STEM were supposed to be invited but I got an invite because everyone knows I love Lego and they had extra openings to fill. (now if I could just figure out how to get a VIP shopping invite...)

I had planned to avoid spoilers so I could walk into the LEGO Store in January and be surprised, but somehow I seem to have become, well, employed there. So much for that plan. How y'all been?

Such a busy LEGO day. First club meeting which was great fun. A few orders placed for Fairy Bricks. Sorting donated sets that have already started arriving. Securing a Duplo monkey. Chuckling as @Legoboy tries to convince me he is worthy of his own version of New Yankee Workshop ;-)
