^Only buy the ones you really like or that you need for a display. And only buy as many of those as you truly need. Then walk away, Legoboy, walk away. ;)

Am very pleased with myself. Have just bought 42 replacement stickers for less than a tenner shipped from the States. Saved myself about 30 quid based on [email protected] UK prices. :-)

Sorting out a large PAB tub and 3 Christmas ornaments full of 1x1 rounds. Beginning to wish I'd left it till tomorrow!

(Seriously though, those ornaments hold LOADs of 1x1s for £2.99 and will look great on the tree if I can talk the kids out of filling them with Moshlings)

@Legoboy I know the looks well having done an almost full box last night, it's like people think we are weird or something!
Of course in my case it did not help that as I turned to walk away once finished that I knocked a HUGE display of plastic princess tiaras flying literally everywhere.
The joys of being the worlds most clumsy blunderbus, and a CMF addict who must get her 'fix' even at the cost of lots of chromed plastic scattering to the four winds.

Built another version of my mini vw camper van (beethoven) ambulance, this time a type III. Gotta take some pics for flickr and the EB thread.

@sidersdd strange I found 8 s6 at target last night too... No Romans but I already have several... 2 bandits & bravehearts, butcher, flamenco, skater & mechanic... I need a couple lady liberty. I scanned them and they popped up as s10 #71001 DPCI 204 001 044 not s6 #8827 DPCI 204 000 211 Which was the original one for s6. Tried to get them to correct it and see if they were discounted but no luck.

I have come to a conclusion about the Lego Mineraft sets:
-Yesterday I bought #21102 and I will only buy one of each Lego Minecraft set for now. So in October I can get #21105 and #21106 for Double VIP Points and a free gift. This is because I want other Lego sets that are available in stores.

-I realised that these sets have better display value if you expand them but not too much as more sets could surface in the future. So i'm planning to rearrange the bottoms and the tops to create a 4x3 Micro World, Now time to wait for October to come...

Just ordered #10220 vw campevan, something I've wanted since its release. Must of been the mini version that made me go for it...

Last night I dismantled #7778 Midi-scale Millennium Falcon & #8099 Midi-Scale Imperial Star Destroyer, I am going to do #10231 Shuttle Expedition next.

This should free up some display space for me as it was getting a bit cluttered and I have #7189 Mill Village Raid as well as #10193 Medieval Market Village (If my wife ever finishes it) to put on display.

The Imperial Hotel #21017 arrived from Amazon. I was able to stash it in the closet to hid it from my son. It's a Christmas present for him. Now...how do I keep from cracking it open before then? Oh, the temptation!

P.S. Thanks @margot for the Amazon sale alert. I would not have bought it w/o it being on sale. Keep those alerts coming! :)

Finally built #7905 this weekend, certainly a rather large set https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=504269529660670&set=a.474597229294567.1073741826.474555989298691&type=1&theater found that the crane hook fell out if you tried to lift anything heavy which considering its size seemed a little daft to me, I went off in search of a solution and came up with the idea of tying the hook on with some string and it seems to work whilst not being noticeable at all.
Also had a good chuckle with the trains making some unnecessarily complex railway network, all in all a good weekend.

Had the pleasure of purchasing Duplo for our youngest granddaughters birthdays (turning 4 & 6). Would have bought Lego but there will be a new baby in the house early next year so the bigger pieces are safer.

The above was yesterday. I am trying to be strong, but...today I dug the parcel out of the closet and opened the shipping carton. I had to check to see that they sent the correct item, didn't I? Oh the Imperial Hotel is so beautiful, but I just can't give in to tempation. After all, it is a present for my son. I must stay strong. Maybe if I go out and feel up some minifigs I'll get my mind off of it for awhile. ;)

You need something to take your mind off it, @LegoMom1. I understand they've recently brought out some kind of Ewok set...maybe that would occupy you for an hour or so? ;-P

@LegoMom1, if the pressie was for you I'd agree, be patient. But it's not! It's for your son....on Christmas Day.

What if there are specialist elements missing? CS aren't going to be there to help you.

@LegoMom1, I really think you need to open and build it, just to check! Just to make sure Christmas Day runs smoothly. ;-)

Don't encourage me! My son saw the Ewok Village on dislay at the Rock Center, NYC store on Thursday. Another set added to his list. The list gets longer with every visit to that store. Oh, and let's not forget that he saw the Sidney Opera House display also. Added to the list of course. Well, we did get the VW polybag during that visit. So we are both happy about that one.

Just did my first part's order (well second, but first one was not for me) from Bricklink for a set "Improvement" I have planed, I managed to get all 23 lots and 173 parts from just 2 sellers (I thought that was good). Looking forward to these arriving so I can get started.

Happy anniversary, Boo! My anniversary was last Thursday - all I got was Star Trek - Into Darkness on DVD (which is a good film, but still, it's not Lego) :-/

Very pleased with my newly acquired Lego Pig farm from eBay, got an absolute bargain as it was listed as might be missing some bits yet everything was there even the spares. Pigs are also ideally shaped for placing them in dubious positions I have discovered also...

Bought the Hobbit game #3920 from my local Argos. I went in for something else (non-Lego) and saw they had a couple of #3920 left in the clearance stuff, so bought one.

Just done it again, only in my home town this time. I must be coming down with something.
You are. It's called Minifig fever. It reportedly started in Denmark. The first cases for this strain in the US were reported on September 1. Don't worry, it is a brief illness, but it does tend to recur every few months or so. ;)
It's this sodding website. Until yesterday, I didn't own single cmf. A bit of hype and I'm on a mission to secure as many of just a couple of figs as I can. God only knows why!?
2 hours to kill whilst my son trains for gymnastics. Too far away to consider going home. What to do.....?

Very happy today. Got home from a business trip today to find:

    1. My Mr Gold won on eBay last week had arrived
    2. My Pick-a Brick has arrived (even though the LEGO [email protected] website says it's still in process)
    3. One of my Bricklink's had arrived, so I can almost complete my big blue campervan
    4. My custom mini camper van stickers from the wonderful @MinifigsMe had arrived, so I can finish off the Blue, Lime and Yellow ones.

Just kidding- enjoy all your new arrivals. :)

Lego status today: Moving home with so much Lego I had to sit on a suitcase to close it for the first time ever!

I am allowed two suitcases, so I have a backpack full of my clothes, and a large suitcase full of Lego (and a few miscellaneous items). Obviously we all know where my priorities lie...

Youngest said to me just now, "You're getting tired of LEGO aren't you Dad?! You're not building anything and so making us do it. Do we get paid?"

^^^@Legoboy- Hahaha. When my son was young, I was his "assistant." He was always the builder. Now that he's a teenager, (enjoy the little ones now Legoboy, sounds like they will be giving you a real run for your money later on), he has me reduced to his minion. Now it's my job to find and orgainize his pieces for him. And if I'm lucky, I get to add a few bricks now and then! :):):)

Worked on BrickLinking #10181 and #10189 today. Getting pretty close to having them both complete. Will be fun to build once the cold weather sets in.

The highs and lows of the hobby:

Back in March I dipped my toes into the modular waters by picking up the Grand Emporium. I loved it, but wasn't sure how good an idea it was to start collecting them all from a financial point of view. But I decided to pick up the Fire Brigade last week, because the Emporium just looked a bit lonely. Upon finishing the FB, I connected it to the GE - and I was smitten. Pictures of modulars together just don't do the real thing justice.

Having fawned over the pair of them for a while, I turned around and, with a stray arm, knocked my Hogwarts Express off the 6ft. shelf it was on. It smashed to pieces on the wooden floor. I only finished rebuilding it last night, having had to look under my bed and under the wardrobe occasionally for missing pieces. Thankfully it is now fully present and accounted for.

Having been to help out at Southport Air Show yesterday (great fun!) I seem to have agreed to build a Wild-west style gallows, along with horse-drawn hearse, for STEAM next month.

I've just finished them. I haven't done much else this morning...

My Into the Woods MOC began its advertising tour today at the Ruislip Duckpond Market, where we had a stall advertising the show. The MOC was very useful for attracting small children to our display, enabling us to talk up the show to their parents, but I twice had to recover toadstools snaffled by tiny hands, and one woman curtly demanded to know how much I was selling it for; when I said it was for display only, not for sale, she got quite shirty and accused me of getting her child's hopes up "with false promises" (apparently her child had dragged her to the stall saying he'd seen it for sale). She didn't take a handbill, either. People can be funny. :-)

Fingers hurt. Went through EVERY bag of CMF they had left at TRU (about 30ish- I know its not much but I identified every one until they were thrown into the reject pile. Found no Pretzel Girl and mistook Welders blowtorch for Saxophone Players saxophone. So I just need those 2 more!

My goal is to not have to buy ANY online with this series. Had completed 6-10 that way. Pictured in middle, with paper background depending on the series.
    Below Left: Star Wars
    Below Right: Super Heroes
Above: TMNT, Spongebob, LOTR, and a few more SW

My status: Today it just struck me as I sat preparing a 10kg parcel to post tomorrow: I'm already planning ahead with regards where I'm going to store sets I'm going to buy in 2014! I knew there had to be more than one reason why I just sold off 8kg of Bionicle parts just clogging up my storage space on fleabay. Weird how I adored it as a child, and now as an adult I'm almost repulsed by it... Must be a sign that times are changing...

My other status: I'm also planning my next big Bugatti Veyron based MOC (yeah, I do a lot of those :-P) Well, gotta keep occupied with the weather as it is at the moment! :-)
