I found a TRU was selling 2013 Star Wars and only got the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid, which I'm currently building, but I finally made it to 1000 figures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@joseph, how about just focusing on a complete retail collection? That's what I do. I don't bother with the majority of exclusives and my bank account thanks me for that. A collection can be whatever you want it to be.

My status: beginning to regret my plan of collecting all LotR sets (based partially on the idea that Lego was too busy with Super Heroes and Star Wars to release any event exclusives). Micro Bag End won't be too bad of a blow but Azog may become that one set I couldn't quite get.

If your plan was to collect all LOTR sets, then don't worry; these exclusives don't have set numbers. ;)

^&^^&^^^ Aye, that's probably what I'll end up doing; the next step is to convince my lego-centric, (there, I said it @samiam391) semi-completist mind to accept it, which luckily shouldn't be too hard if prices stay as they are.

Found a #79111 Constitution Train Chase on "clearance" at Target for $70.

The checkout lady noticed I was purchasing a "spectacular" LEGO set and that I must "really be into Legos" (I was also wearing a LEGO MBA T-shirt), and subsequently enlightened me with this insightful tip : you can superglue the parts, so that the model doesn't fall apart when the kids play with it. This was a trick she learned apparently when her kids fought over their LEGO sets and blamed each other for their destruction.

Did you promptly have a fainting spell on hearing that? :-))

:-)) Lol, that was so vivid:-) I actually pictured a man running across a parking lot, protectively craddling a big lego set to his chest. :-)) Fast forward to a Five Below where the same man is feeling some series 10 cmf packs, all the while tears are streaming down his face. :-))

Feeling LEGO withdrawal. By the time I get home from Philly, it will literally be just over a year without building. I'm thinking of breaking my vow to abstain from purchasing LEGO while in the States, especially since it's So. Much. Cheaper!

@sidersdd said: ^ my face started twitching uncontrollably, and I hurried the checkout, clutched the set under my arm, and ran...

That response was priceless, especially the face twitching uncontrollably. Just what I needed to put a smile back on my face. (Was greeted with a very rude and pointless comment on another thread earlier). So this has restored my faith in this site. Triumph in the face of adversity! Thank you so much.

Terrible Lego status for me today... My 'bargain' new Lego I bought off eBay is turning out to be a right pain in the rear end - bought it 7 days ago, they apparently sent it 6 days ago, still no sign of it on my doorstep. Just had to do something I hate doing - opening a case against the seller. Cue frustrated-but-trying-not-to-sound-frustrated emails in the next few days.

Kinda wish I'd sacrificed the 40% saving and bought it at RRP on the High Street. That's what I get for eBay bargain hunting, always! :-(

On my way to the B&N Lego architecture event. And, as if that's not enough, I have a BOGO 50% off coupon. My son's birthday is on Sunday. Guess what he'll be getting?
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
@TheOneVeyronian- Completely feel your pain. After purchasing an Azog at a decent price a few days ago, the seller has somehow "misplaced" the item and says he can't find it anywhere.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but his "misplacement" of the figure comes in perfect timing of the item skyrocketing in price.

If I may say one thing though regarding your specific case, give it a bit more time. Often an item is marked as shipped when the eBay label is printed out. The label is printed out, and then usually the item isn't shipped for another day or two. Sellers typically use it as a way to buy time to ship their items. Have you tried messaging the seller?

^ Best of luck with it @samiam391, does the seller seem reputable from feedback?

    @CapnRex101- 100%, 200+.

I'm a very trusting person, so I'm still holding hope he is telling the truth, and also that he'll find the figure this evening.

On the bright side, 4 of my SDCC figures arrived in the mail today. The packaging is incredible, and they look great side by side.

As the father of a child whose sets are forever coming apart, I can completely understand her perspective. And really, who cares? She can do whatever she wants with the toys she buys.

Saying she doesn't deserve LEGO is ridiculous. It's like suggesting someone doesn't deserve to have a kitchen because they painted it a color you don't like.
  • TheOneVeyronianTheOneVeyronian Member Posts: 1,372
@samiam391 Don't worry about mine, turned out it was a honest seller and one of their machines had broke, so my order has just been backlogged with thousands of others. Luckily it's only £13, so not talking Azog-type prices.

But it's gutting to lose out on any good deal, whether £15 or £500. I hope your Azog deal works out for the better Samiam391 ;-)

but she gave the "tip" wothout being asked for it and she shuld have known that the one shae talks with is a freak who knows the topic good.
And she didnt solve the root of her issue by glueing cause it was due to having 2 childs which appearantly "fought" over the sets

Going to my local movie store to the Minecraft section where I remember they have the Minecraft set, so I'll get 2, one to build regular, one for a custom add- on. I'll get pictures up if I can once I finish.

Picked up the Lego haul I purchased from a coworker-on the table all clean complete sets with instructions, below the table mostly complete sets. Majority Star Wars, all the Harry Potter sets, lots of cool things.

Tomorrow myself and my lovely husband celebrate 6 years of marriage, today he came home and made me a slap up steak supper and chocolate dipped strawberries. And he bought me an amazing bouquet and LEGO set #6864, loving this new tradition of celebrating special times with LEGO :D

Have finally made my first big purchase from Lego S@H and with all the new sets coming out on UK S@H it may not be long before another purchase :)
  • TheOneVeyronianTheOneVeyronian Member Posts: 1,372
I placed an order with S@H yesterday afternoon, but still I haven't received any sort of order confirmation in my email inbox, nearly 24 hours after ordering, even though I should have received one a few hours after buying. Yes, they have my email address. So why on earth have I not received one!? I've always got them before. (please can I have some answers to this problem - please)

Is this normal? Is this anything to worry about? Anyone else having trouble getting confirmation emails after ordering some of the new stuff released at S@H?

Well, how else can I know that they've received my order and are processing it?

(Sorry, I just wanna know why on earth this has happened and how I can check they're processing my order. Little worried that if the order email doesn't come, I might not get my shipping confirmation either)

Just leaving Tesco, shopping for a picnic/bbq for @Jenni and her family are staying with us.

Anyways, bagged up the groceries and loaded up the trolley. Cashier said, "Are you collecting stickers?" A great big smile spread across my face.

@Big_Blue_Winky- If you recall, awhile back I offered you 1 skydiver and 2 mechanics for that blue beauty. Should have taken me up on the offer while you had the chance. Bad clutch? The offer is no longer on the table! :)
