My 4 year old son was keen on building one of the older Ferrari Racers sets I have had sitting in the Garage for a while, so we cracked open the Pit Set #8375

Nice little set, lots of mini-figures, the photo is how my son arranged it.

Just one thousand, three hundred and twenty-seven pieces left to go before I got called away. :-/

Should be thankful I even managed to get the box open.

are the pieces still separated by the bag they were from or all thrown together.
the latter requires a crapton of sorting and the bags hava a odd but existing schema :) I usuallyrely on the premade system to start the buildin session faster.

I was surprised how long it took to build... very dense piecework in this set! Immediately made it into my top 5 all-time sets list!

Yes, each bag is in its own pile. I was a little surprised the bags weren't numbered as I wrongly assumed I'd be able to build it a bit at a time. Not two minutes after I'd gotten ready to start all hell let loose with the kids fighting. Ended up building a bit of the camper van but mostly helped my eldest build his pull-back and go red car thingy whilst my youngest zoomed ahead and finished his blue one in 45 minutes. Managed another half an hour this morning and have to agree with @caperberry that it is probably in my top 5 also. It's so clever and creative. :-)

I received my free keychain yesterday. After attaching it to my car keys, I went through the following thought process:
Should I leave it attached the next time I take the car in for an MOT?
Hang on, when's the MOT due?
    *checks documents*
    Ah, it expires today. Oops.

Massively grateful to TLG. Without this I'd have been driving round illegally this weekend!

Inordinately delighted...I opened a S9 CMF bag this morning which I bought last night at Sainsbury's, containing a Hollywood Starlet minifig - plus an extra Heroic Knight head! Result! :-)

I found our cat batting around the popsicle boy from the TH the other night but the popsicle was gone. Unable to find it, I decided to getcone off bricklink. However I was at target last night and found Emmas Ice Cream Stand for $3.99 which had the popsicle. I picked it up to avoid having to wait. The best part was it included a coupon for a free kids ticket to lego land which i may use next week. They also had a chima polly that i almost got. They had plenty so i may go back to get some.

I've just been creating a nice looking Batman Commissioner Gordon minifigure out of the moustache wearing SW Rebel Snowtrooper and the series nine minifigure policeman. Also, a cheap Alfred out of the series nine minifig waiter and a spare random flesh head. Simple fun that's saved me a fortune on Bricklink! lol

Down to just 9 of the 4 Juniors figures to complete the full collection. It's getting difficult to find BL sellers that have more than one of the few I still need!

Went to my local Gamestop today to buy a new game. When I got up to the register, I noticed one of the exclusive Elrond figures standing on their computer. I asked the employee if they had any left, and he grabbed one from below the counter and gave it to me! He also gave me a free GameInformer that had pictures and info about the new Marvel Lego game and TT Games in general. How cool is that?

Got my Lego Valentine's keychain yesterday.
And really chuffed that I should be getting a Maersk train for €160 (incl. p&p) in a couple of days (well over the RRP, but not a bad price seeing as it's no longer available). Should have bought one from Lego a couple of years ago :-S

Why not? It's free to create an account, even if you never use it...
  • SherlockbonesSherlockbones Member Posts: 411
Ah I won't get a figure though, is it worth it the VIP programme?
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
^ You don't know you won't get a figure, and is it worth what? It takes all of 5 minutes to sign up, it's not some terrible ordeal over which you have to contemplate if it's worth it!!
  • SherlockbonesSherlockbones Member Posts: 411
No I mean is the whole VIP thing worth getting, I've not got a full idea of the whole VIP concept, do you get money off or something?
  • GoldchainsGoldchains Member Posts: 795
The VIP card/special is definitely worth getting. It gets you access to special offers and exclusives not offered to the general public. Some have received a free keychain, as stated above or in another thread. Also, for every dollar/pound/euro/etc. you spend online or in-store, you gain points. If you have 100 points, you get $5 off your next purchase, and I believe this is unlimited, so if you spend $1000, you get $50 towards something else, and so on. I've also noticed that I get VIP catalogs in the mail with 10% off your next purchase as well. The benefits are great.

I gave him a deadline, time to see if he pulls through.

No valentine from LEGO, so I could really use a hug right now.

@Prof1515- I'm second in line for that HUG!
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
But he might not have enough hugs for everyone, so I suggest a group hug. How bout it @prof1515?

I've solved a mystery. I've always wondered what this building is, in the miniland at Legoland discovery centre Manchester

    image

Well I've found out - it's the selfridges building in Birmingham bullring. Such an amazing building, cant believe I'd never heard of it before.

    image

All I need to do now is work out how the Lego one was built - despite peering into it for ages at the display, I just couldn't work it out.

First no Valentines Keychain, then I wake up to confirmation of UCS X-Wing rehash. 'sigh' this is more than I can take. I think we need to take some time apart. It's not you, it's me.

@BrickDancer- In the exact same place as you. No keychain, now the X-wing... It's been a rather sad day for LEGO and I.

Afraid we may have to break up the day after Valentine's Day...

^The Kool Aid is tasting a bit bitter today. I'm itching to slim down my SW collection now.
