Was adding a bunch of loose LEGO into rebrickable and came across a barrel. I couldn't quite find the right part. A horrible thought washed over me and did a little check. I cried out in horror....it's mega blox. from 1300 odd loose bricks, 1 bad piece isn't so bad I suppose.

Very happy to say that after months and months of searching, I finally found a New York Toy Fair Captain America/Bucky Barnes for sale. My New York Toy Fair Ironman is "lone", no longer! :-)

Thanks for the link, @Si_Dorking_Surrey_UK, but the instructions don't show up on Peeron when I input the set number, for some reason. I was hoping someone had a copy of the .pdf instructions they could email to me, or direct me to a site which already has the instructions. Anybody?

Just about to build Friends Heartlake Vet. A belated Christmas present, it has just arrived today. I intend to use the parts for furniture for MOC modulars. Just hoping I have time to build it tonight.

Was about to pull the trigger on a UCS SSD at amazon.fr as it had dropped to 316 euros, but no google chrome at work. Now i'm home it is 379 Euros. Will be putting the purchase on hold again!
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
you dont need google chrome, just go to the google translate website and paste the URL, then the link it gives you is to a translated version. Or there are various other browser addons.

Not that you want to hear that now :)
  • monkeyhangermonkeyhanger Member Posts: 3,170
Si - it will be mine, I will just have to put it off a little longer. Addons at work are a no no, can't install anything on works comp. Google translate is the way to go, although working for a french firm there would have been a few colleagues to translate if i'd asked.

So I bricklinked a few pieces that my daughter 'lost' along with a few others and a poly which I wanted. The last bit arrived today after a little mix-up and just before bed time my daughter walks up to me holding the missing Lego pieces all stuck together. Doh!!
  • korkor Member Posts: 392
I haven't tried my hand at doing a brickfilm in about 8 years so I've spent the last month working on a story I wrote a long time ago. I forgot how much work it takes to make a movie!

Now I'm going to jump into some serious sorting. I'm WAY behind......

Decided to take my Lego Store GC and discount and get two sets, The Spider-Cycle Chase and Arctic Batman/Mr. Freeze/Aquaman. Both are completely awesome. Venom is my new favorite minifig.

Bit disappointed to hear there's not going to be a Lego Show this year and impatient to know when AFOLcon will be! ( http://www.afolcon.com/AFOLCON/WhatsNew.html )

Gutted. Or disappointed rather. Surprised this wasn't reported on the homepage :(

Just put in a few orders for the start of a MOC for Brickworld in June. Testing out a few different techniques to see what looks best before going all in on some of the more expensive parts.

Awaiting reply for a Craigslist ad that had a Cloud City for $80. No interest in the set at all. Only giving it a shot since its $80 and fetches some good money online.

Also emailed a guy that had his whole collection for sale which includes CC, MS, GG, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal and USC Falcon.

Just realised that Ive taught my son how to say his colours using Lego - which is not a problem, except that he has no concept of 'beige'.

Staring at #30211 x56 and wondering: what do I do with all these ballistae?
  • drjamesdrjames Member Posts: 3
Built the Hobbit, "An Unexpected Gathering" (79003) yesterday and today built "Attack on Weathertop" (9472) this afternoon. Minifigs Frodo and Merry in the latter and Bilbo B and Gandulph the Grey in the former. Both are elegant sets but I enjoyed 9472 more as it uses the same build method as in the "Battle of Helms Deep" using those hinged bricks to attain a curve in the building.

Break them up and use the parts when you build something else, perhaps? ;-)

  • JosephJoseph Member Posts: 629
^ Yeah, but what are they good for; a bigger ballista? :-)

Took my #7684 pig farm to the office and as I was putting it together as a desk decoration I realized the 6x14 plate was missing from the bag I had it in. I did come across a loose plate a while back and I guess that's where it was from.

Also how come the tractor looks so lime-coloured yet only maybe 10 visible pieces are that colour?

Sigh, bored and no money to buy more Legos. So I decided to write a song for everyone!

(This is to the music of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back")

I like big sets and I cannot lie
    You other collectors can't deny
When Lego walks in with a big plastic waste
and UCS Class in your face
    Your wallet's sprung!

Lol that's about as far as I got. I hope it doesn't stick in your head hehe.

I'm getting really good at CMF hunting... or maybe it's just that all S9 figures are too bulky to misinterpret!
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
Just one thousand, three hundred and twenty-seven pieces left to go before I got called away. :-/

Should be thankful I even managed to get the box open.

Turns out that over half of my collection of stems from the PAB wall are defective. Not physically, but unusable in my MOC.

Really hard to explain though. :( Basically, the 3 stems sizes are arranged in a different order.

Here's what a birds eye view might look like:

    o= the stud in centre

    Normal (the one I need):

    -medium
    o-long
    short-

    Defective:

    -long
    o- short
    medium-

I hope this made some sense. lol

Shouldn't the judge and the policeman be the other way round?

Pulled in the driveway after taking advantage of the AFOL day at Sheffield. I was just about to put my key in the door and heard a young voice say ''ey, you like lego?''. I turned around and there was 2 kids about 8-9 years old trying to have a nosey in my bright yellow bags. I asked them if they liked LEGO and ended up giving them both 2 SUN polybags I had going spare. That's my good deed for the day sorted. I just hope I don't get their mothers or the fuzz knocking asking why Im giving presents to youngsters in the street...

^ The mermaid didn't mind, it was the judge who had a problem with it.

All groping now done, for another 4 months or so anyway.

Had an adventure finding the location of the bulk Lego we went to buy. First GPS got us lost, then the housing development was gated but the seller neglected to tell us, cell reception was non-existent. Finally arrived about 15 min late!
