The thing is, I do accept them, but I'm only willing to exchange them for other Flainian Pobble Beads ;-)
Well, I don't take Flainian Pobble Beads.  You pawn those useless things off on other unsuspecting yokels.

Yesterday was a trip to the LEGO Store after five months or more of Cold Turkey... I.E. not going there yet.

I picked up the final two JW Sets from 2021 and the first of 2022s new batch to get, scored two freebie boxed sets and the store clerk also slipped in set #6412191 which apparently isn't even in the database yet. It seems to be a group of parts for an in-store build or something for what is called on the included manual Rose, but as I said the Database doesn't have this set listed so cannot confirm.

It was a nice gift at least, I suspect the in-store builds have been piling up a tad with less foot traffic hence the sudden stuffing of the parts and manual into my purchase to get rid of overstock.

Indeed I thought that too for Kenny! There’s hopefully no better remedy than an Inside Tour, metaphorically speaking :) *

*On a more conventional note, I stayed up until about 3am perfecting a building challenge on my Inside Tour and was knackered for the next day. You might want to call it a day a little earlier than that if the format of the challenge is still quite similar, as the Tour otherwise needs quite a bit of attention and concentration throughout to get the most out of it. They should allow for small break periods in between certain activities though, when you can chill and take stock.

Well I’ve been absent from the forum for a while now due to health issues, which luckily have abated enough for me to make it to the Inside Tour next week. We are in Amsterdam for a bit but leave for Billund in just a few days - excitement is definitely building!
I will be in Amsterdam Monday, prepare to be stalked!

@karrit I already went on the Inside Tour in 2017, but it was a fantastic time which I reported on at the time! Sorry if that wasn’t clear. But I did stay in exactly the same room at Kenny with that fantastic view of the park. Looking forward to hearing more about how the Inside Tour goes post-peak-pandemic time.

Glad to hear an update from your tour so far - looks like it’s back with a bang and just as good as ever! Plus, you probably chose one of the best shelves to ‘pap’ deep in the vault.

Everyone always seems to have totally different designers on each tour - sounds like you had a really good mix to chat to. You’ll have plenty more to look forward to in Day 2 and 3!

    Lego status = mixed

The good: I have slowed if not stopped myself from purchasing lego just because it is on sale or that need to buy new sets for the sake of buying something new. I have sorted a ton of lego to sell/trade for older castle lego that I want, just have to figure out fine details on how to do it (bricklink, Locally, ebay).

The bad: Lego raising there prices means the 2 themes I gave myself the go ahead on will be lowered to 1. Harry Potter collection will not be growing as I cannot justify the cost they will ask. I will stick with castle (90th anniversary) and continue on my quest of older castle sets. This will translate into Lego not seeing very much money from me as I will blow all my VIP points on acquiring 2 new castles and be sticking with the 2nd hand market.

In a way lego is helping me with my goal of slowing my collection but truthfully I have been doing really well the past couple years and only spending 1/4 on what I used to each year.

Haven't bought any Lego lately. I did get the Viking ship this week and Aldi here are selling the leftover City 2020 Elite Police sets so picked one up.

@KungFuKenny Congratulations on winning trophies for your builds! It’s a very exclusive club of Inside Tourers who have those - so welcome to it :) Are you allowed to say what category you won in? Were you knighted by toothbrush?

Someone has unfortunately already taken a photo of the inside tour set and shared it on social media. I won’t say what it is but I’m guessing it wasn’t meant to be revealed straight away (we had to wait until a certain date after the tour before sharing ours).

@The_Rancor There was an embargo on releasing details of the set until noon yesterday. I noticed Jay’s Brick Blog released it immediately at noon so someone from the first tour must’ve given him pictures. I was knighted by Carl Merriam and Mike Psiaki with a scepter Carl made ( the toothbrush is on display at Lego House)…My category was “The Legends of Mata Nui”Award (storytelling) and my son won “Best Overall Design”…

Due to Schiphol Airport being an absolute Schiphole right now I am stranded in Amsterdam for 36 hrs. Upside is I made it to the Lego store and got to participate in the Van Gogh Make and Take event. My attempt at Starry Night was more of a 'how many of these light blue slopes can I stuff on here and take' rather than actually trying but I am pleased with the results.
Picture, please! My LEGO status? Baffled. How does one misplace an entire freezer gallon bag of parts? I thought I had it with me, but can't find it anywhere in my room. Trying to rebuild favorite sets, and the bottom half of #79110 has apparently won hide and seek!

The design and poseability of #31124 give such personality! Likely my favorite 2022 set (so far).  Had to pair the ‘bot with #31062 who got promoted from the back of a display cabinet to the shelf above my desk.

@Bumblepants, thanks! Actually, your rendition looks neat! EDIT: My LEGO status? Blessed! I finished the boxcar from #79111, so it's complete again, my church's internet got fixed, Pastor Jeremiah was back last night, now I just need to find the rest of the Silver Mine. Also, I realized that the Starry Night set includes a church...Kind of interested, now.

It sounds truly like a once in a lifetime set of memories @KungFuKenny!!

As for my status, I got the Vespa finished built and put up on the shelf this weekend. I'm really happy with both the build experience and the final product. It was really enjoyable throughout.

I still have enough room on the shelves after the big reorg for the Pickup Truck, the DeLorean (after I'm able to actually purchase it), and Optimus Prime.

Congrats @KungFuKenny for such a wonderful trip! Not to be outdone, @Bumblepants, your "Starry Night" is nearly as good as the Inside Tour set!

As to my status, with the current purchase freeze of new LEGO, I spent the weekend disassembling and packing sets away for some semi-long term storage. I haven't taken many sets a part over the last few years but found that it scratched the LEGO itch for the time being. A few more sets to go, and the LEGO collection will be fully packed and ready for storage. Then the countdown for unpacking begins!

God is good! Found MOST of #79110, and got it built. Only need to find the minecart, track, barrier...Of course a Reddish Brown 1x10 plate snapped, but every time a piece breaks, I'm blessed that I can often replace it, until LEGO gets too expensive, or something, and of course the minecart uses a special chest lid that was only used in 2 sets, so I want to keep looking. Ah, well. This whole thing reminds me that as much as I enjoy our hobby, the whole thing is temporary, and God has something even better...Still, I won't give up, as the Bible says God isn't a fan of quitting, and He can teach me patience through it... And I promised my family I'd get everything sorted, all that stuff.

Well......that will largely depend on whether or not I have a house to move into. I'll have access to my storage, so I can try to pull out the WV (or at least elements of it) if we're still in limbo. But as of now, it's up in the air.

I've already asked my wife if we can set it up once we're moved in, even if it's in February. She's on board as it's something she absolutely loves as well.

Just praying it all comes together before Christmas!

Completed the Muppets today. Pulled/felt out Waldorf and Beaker. First the Looney Tunes and now The Muppets. Never thought I'd be a full set collector but here we are. Now I regret not getting The Simpsons when they were available.

Popped by the Birmingham Discovery Centre shop on a polybag hunt, nothing of interest, was hoping for at least a SW and The Batman one, but just the same handful for months ago. They did have the GWP Cosmic Cardboard Adventures in for £20
Along with Jane Goodall and the funfair ones as well.
