- Drinking coffee from a LEGO travel mug, wearing LEGO socks -
I'll give them this, they do look good! But I am about the furthest thing from a shoe collector as you can get. I too would be scared to ever wear them and get them dirty at that price.
Shoes are funny for me. If I had lots of disposable income, I'd totally be a sneaker-head. As it stands, these are the first shoes I've ever "collected." They indeed have lit a fire in me and now I find myself shopping for other Licenses that Adidas has (Disney, Star Wars, etc). Like my LEGO hobby, though, I will restrain myself.
I bought sneaker protector spray for these. Let's see if I work up the courage to actually wear them!
I've gotten both compliments and strange looks. So far, the sneakers are still clean. They are quite comfy, too. The raised LEGO stud pattern on the insole feels good. My father about fell over when I told him the price (I run this company with him).
I feel silly and accomplished and overall, no regrets. Even my wife likes them :-O
^apologies, but I forgot to hit record during my catwalk
@pxchris they actually go up quite a few sizes higher, I think they pry just sold out. I'm a size 13 but ordered my pair almost immediately after launch.

Don't they know that all of my money is tied up in Pirates right now?1? How rude.
But seriously... a fantastic article which and fans of the Adventurers theme should read. @KungFuKenny I'm looking at you.
From the look of the before picture, I would have thought it was hopeless.
Logically I know that these are just cardboard boxes that were meant to be thrown away. My non-rational side, however, loves holding on to vintage packaging because it allows me to pretend I’m buying the sets for the first time back in 1981…

I had the wonderful opportunity this weeked to attend, along with my 17 year old, my first LEGO event since Covid hit - the inaugural 2021 Bricknic by Bricks Cascade. Bricks Cascade 2020 was the last major event I did right before the pandemic hit (the convention was in March) and we of course weren't able to have a normal convention this year due to the situation. But the organizers were able to bring together this extremely fun Bicknic event for us instead. It was held outdoors under a large open-air pavilion. I believe that the final attendance numbers were just under 200 people. We had Moto from LEGO Masters season 2 visiting. It was a pretty casual affair with a lot of tables set up to display MOCs, a few games (builder dash, standing build, battle bots), a parts draft, grilled hamburgers for lunch and pizza for dinner. The only true downside was the heat - it was in the mid to upper 90s for most of the day, which for the PNW is just ridiculously hot. But the conversations were wonderful, the builds were fantastic, and it was just a super fun day all around.
Here are just a few pictures of some of my favorite builds I captured during the day.
And finally, my son's and my contributions:
It took me a good few seconds to finally realize why you'd posted a picture of a Super Soaker. I was genuinely confused how that had slipped into a Lego thread!
That National Mall is ::chef's kiss::

As you can see, it needs work but that is the whole point, having fun restoring it :)
I still plan on getting Winter Village, Modulars and Fair Ground sets but no more going crazy.
