What's your LEGO 'status' today?

Stopped by my neighborhood thrift store and more lego was added. Picked up 20 bucks worth as I could see some old castle pieces in them. Not much castle when I opened them though but there was a nice little haul of classic spacemen and old transparent. Really wanted castle but still worth it. The bag I got is about 15 pounds so will take a week to weed out the megablocks and garbage... Then weeks to clean it all as it is sticky and hairy *yuck*.

Grabbed out some to clean up and get an idea of how banged up it is... So far first little batch looks pretty good.

A few months back when the Looney Toon CMFs came out, I saw the advertising sign for them in a local toy shop. I asked them if I could have it once they were done, they agreed in exchange for a donation to the charity box in store. I got the call and finally got to take it home today! They managed to keep it in great condition.

Been busy updating my Ninjago City spreadsheet. I have way too many ideas on it but I guess that is a good thing. Can you have too many retro space subtheme branded skyscrapers in the downtown district? I hope not.

Very excited about the packages that arrived yesterday and what's coming today... pictures forthcoming once everything is cleaned and inventoried, but suffice to say that the Pirates are very happy to have their home!

I have officially completed my collection of the entirety of the 1989-1991 "Bluecoat era" of Classic Pirates sets!

The last set I needed for that collection was #6273, which I was able to aquire this last week (I actually have about 90% + of a second copy of the set as well which I'll be selling off). That completes for me a major goal in my collecting. Of course, one is never truly done collecting, eh? I still would like to get some extras from the 89-91 sets but the focus now will be on my con display. Next on the classic collecting list for me is the Islanders sets.

Feels really great to have completed this step! Can't wait to see them all together on display!

As of today, I have sold over $300 worth of instructions on Rebrickable! While I don't do it for the money, I think it is kind of a fun milestone [and a great reason to buy more Lego :) ].

Home from vacation which included my first trip to LEGOLAND. cool place. one thing I noticed is that they ride load and unload seems to move at a snails pace. even on the smaller kiddy rides. And we lost 3 hours to do a huge thunderstorm. but once the weather cleared. the park was pretty much empty. ninjago land didn't have a single other person in it when we were there. so that was kinda fun. the big store was a bit disappointing as far as polybags go. I was expecting to find all kinds of rare and old ones. but there were really only a few altogether. still found a few I wanted. also picked up the dino bones ideas set, a lego store set that was different than the one I've seen in other stores, mostly a white building. and I picked up the LEGOLAND water park exclusive set. on our way out, they gave us free vouchers for 4 tickets to use in the next 365 days due to the bad weather. pretty cool! especially since we didn't' see half the park. that's a big place, legoland.

Really hectic week of work combined with working two weekends in a row, means a day of nothing to start the school holidays. Trip out to Lidl to grab polybags, couple of the HP and one of all the others. Built a couple of the before plonking myself in the paddling pool as the temperature is heading above 30C, it may seem chilly to some, but it was 15C this time last week.

not that I saw. and on several of the rides, we could see the load and unload station for many ride cycles. didn't see disinfecting once. And most of the hand sanitizer dispensers were empty from the time the park opened.

Made it to the LEGO store up in Jacksonville for only the second time since Covid came along ... They had the #10292 Friends Apartment and #10274 Ghostbusters Ecto so I didn't have to wait on shipping and I managed to snag #40490 Ninjago Brickheadz which has been in and out of availability in stores and online. All in all worth the trip!

I seem to be in a perpetual loop of what I'm thinking are actually my default LEGO statuses:

1. Inspiration for somekind of new MOC
2. Preliminary building, experimentation & tablescraping process.
3. Aha, I need one of those! I have that somewhere...
4. Oh, it's not where it should be! I should really re-sort my parts in a better more convenient way.
5. Oh, that's where I put those!
6. ...and that's where those were.
7. Prolonged search through variety of storage boxes & bags.
8. Oh, I don't remember buying that.
9. Well, that's the part, but not the right colour...
10. What sets is it in? Oh, I don't really want to take it out of that set.
11. Sod it, I'll order it from one of these sellers.
12. I'll just check my wanted list.
13. ooooh, those are nice, oh, I've been wanting that too!
14. HOW MUCH!! Okay, I don't really need those or that.
15. Right, I'll get on with building one of the other parts of the build (using part I found in wrong colour)
16. I really need a couple of those bits to do that section... I know where they are!

Got a few lego bits and pieces over the weekend as a treat. I managed to get Ecto 1, Avengers tower, Venom bust, and Thanos Infinity Gaunlet. That rounds out most of the 2020 sets that I wanted aside from a few collectible minifigs. I also had my stag do at the weekend and they made me wear a lego brick fancy dress all weekend.

With the recent acquisition of #6195 I now have a fully boxed collection of all the general release Aquazone sets from its first year of 1995. I’m not counting the limited release #1822 as that’s extremely hard to find in its original packaging and at a price I’m willing to pay. Love all the octagonal marine parts, chrome accessories and of course the two baseplates from the lab!



Next step will be to try and complete 1996 to round out the main Aquanauts and Aquasharks factions. I already have boxed #6135 and #1749 so I suspect the real challenge will be #6190 Shark’s Crystal Cave. Give me a shout if you know anyone in the UK willing to part with one! ;)
