The good news...so glad I waited on buying the Astronomy Tower!

The bad news...why I waited so long to order the tower. Will the local Lego store exchange it
if they have one in stock?

yes, they should exchange it with your invoice. I believe you have 90 days. I just did something similar with the clock tower. They gave me store credit.

Well, it finally happened. I got one of my MOC designs stolen by Lepin. I know I should be mad, but I just don't understand why they chose to sell this little tablescrap over my more impressive designs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe I am just feeling more positive than normal tonight, but the instructions were free anyways, and Lepin was kind enough to at least credit me in both the title and description :)
    You’ve already got 6 reviews! :-)

I don’t see Lepin mentioned anywhere.  Maybe it’s fake Lepin 🙄

@Astrobricks I was having difficulties taking a screenshot of the entire page, the site's menu bar would get in the way if I tried.

Ha, I did the same when I rebuilt mine for the first time in 25+ years back in 2015.

@veyniac I don't know whether to give you a "like" and say "well done", or commiserate. ;-)

However, saying that Lepin were "kind enough" to mention you doesn't really make up for the theft of your design. Thieves.

@Pitfall69 - sorry your family is having it rough at the minute. Glad you're planning to hang around here more though! Definitely a good thing!
Thank you so much!! The thing is; I feel so guilty even "complaining" about anything with so many people hurting out there. My heart definitely goes out to them :(

I had an adventure with Sluban today.
People whine that Lego is too expensive but from what I saw with Sluban Lego is worth the cost. Errors in the instructions, roof pieces not fitting comfortably, stickers being too big for the tiles they were meant to be stuck on, Very questionable building techniques. I bought the London Bus and the front of it would fall off if you exerted any pressure near the front it would fall off. As someone would when building the set.
It's put me off buying any of their WW2 sets.

Busy organizing my single-page instruction leaflets, the ones you usually find in poly bags, blister packs etc. Sort them by theme and then insert them in (acid free) pocket sleeves - don't know how you call them.
As always Excel is my best friend in keeping it findable and to track what I have and have not.

Surely I'm the only one collecting these??

I'm impressed!  I'm sure there is some else out there that has a similar collection.

I used to think I was the only collector of minifigure keychains (SW in particular), but I know others are out there... but I doubt anyone has all of them... like I do!

Moved back to Earth from Pluto today for school.  Went to Target to get an X-wing as a welcome-home gift to myself, but the shelves were pretty bare so I picked up 60279 Fire Hazard Truck for a tenner instead.  The steering circle is a little wide, but overall the compact leaning-body steering works really well, so kudos to Lego for at least this one of the 1h21 City gimmicks.  Steering really improves the play value of any car, in my opinion.  For all their great detail, the 2020 Speed Champions sets are hard to suspend disbelief with while playing with them on carpet, because the ground clearance is too low for rough surfaces and the wheelbase is so long and wide that they really skid and drag through turns - they may as well be bricks without wheels for all the good those wheels do on carpet.  But 60279 is a great little set.

Angrier than Victor Meldrew after sitting on a pineapple and crushing his haemorrhoids.

Just spend 1.5 hours on bricks and pieces building a shopping cart of around 300 items for the system to say bricks and pieces is not available when I tried to check out.

    Ah hhhhhh.

With the UK back in lockdown and schools closed, Mrs Speedy is working from home as usual and trying to help Little Miss Speedy with schooling at home. Work have again decided to take advantage of the furlough scheme to help out, so after this coming weeks job was cancelled, I'm back to playing teacher for the week, but on full pay this time as the boss is making up the remainder. My daughters school have got a full timetable planned with lots of live lessons, so in reality there isn't too much for me to help with, so the great LEGO room dusting can commence!

My LEGO status today: I built the salamander from 43186. It's pretty cute! What I really miss though is running trains. It's been months...

I believe @bandit778 is working on Raskolnikov’s ISD.  The only problem I have had is the Light Blue Gray fatigue that inevitably ensues, so I generally will take a month or 2 off between sections to work on something more colorful!
Still plodding along with mine. Totally agree with Gray fatigue and doing something else in between times. Talking of which, mid November after sorting my parts lists which got me here with K-2SO
After a few more Bricklink orders to get my Lego fix (as most of the sets I currently want are unavailable to buy), I have ended up here...

Only another two percent of parts to go and I can start building.
I'm going to have to wait for Bricks and Pieces (and UK deliveries) to get to somewhere near normal to get the remaining parts because despite only requiring five lots, finding a store with all five of them that don't price their LEGO like it's a rare commodity is proving problematic.

I was building the Ecto 1 and stopped midway through the build with the instructions open. I came back and the book had pretty much fallen apart. Has this happened to anyone else? Big instruction manual just falling apart at the spine making the pages loose?

I love those smallish Ikea boxes - perfect for all sorts of things. And the hinged lids just stay on so firmly. Ace.
