(Playing around with backdrops is so fun!)
LEGO's production and stock levels are known months in advance, and how they manage their inventory is automated.
Also, supposedly, their sales are up 37% for 2020, despite their efforts to defer the revenue until after the pandemic passes. In certain employment groups, there was a 2x paycheck bonus paid out recently.
Shame it has to go straight to my storage unit since I don't have room in the studio... :(
I'm sure there are more than enough police minifigures in your collection to figure out what happened to the missing mini figs.
What's even nicer is that my other half agreed to buy it for me as a Christmas gift! :-)
It somewhat makes up for the last time she bought me some Lego for Christmas and, although I'd *always* told her to ask me before getting anything Lego-related, she presented me with #75177 First Order Heavy Scout Walker. I could have cried. And not for joy... ;-)
This must be what’s distracting him from releasing his album!
The light in the mountain is the 'secret' clubouse of the Snow Queen & Yeti.
Behind the Christmas tree, there's a Yule Bal happening...
Hope you like!
I also need to finish wrapping all presents today so I can clear off the desk that will be needed to build the UCS MF. I have two weeks off, so it’s a good time to finally dive in. I will aim for 2 sets of bags per day so I have a couple days at the end to break down my winter village—the worst Lego task of all time.
At this rate more likely an Easter tree.
On the 8th of December I have ordered the Lego Mos Eisley cantina for Christmas for my 10 years old son. I had been checking the lego website everyday during November and December so that I could get one for Christmas, as soon as it became available I purchased one. We usually don't buy such expensive sets but as we have been directly impacted by the fires last year and lost a lot we decided to make this Christmas extra special for our son. On the 17th of December I became a little concerned as the order still showed to be in process. I called and they told me the reason they were not shipping it was because the free gifts weren't available. I explained that I did not care about the free gifts so they lady cancelled the order and make me repurchase cancelling the free gifts. I explained how important was to me to get this gift in time for my son because of what we have been through, I made very clear that I wasn't explaining the situation for them to feel sorry for me only so they understood that I needed by Christmas. She said no problems added express post and guaranteed it would be shipped very soon and also send a little poly bag to apologies for the inconvenience and bad service. The day after, Friday the 18th I called twice asking why the order still showed as in progress both guys guaranteed me that I would receive the parcel by Christmas and that I had nothing to worry about. I am sure they can check I am telling the truth as the calls were recorded, so they can listen to what I was told. So today is Monday and the parcel still showed in progress, after calling twice the lady on the phone told me that they had none in stock and that I was not going to receive one for Christmas. Every time I called I explained the situation and asked them to tell me if they were not going to get it to me in time so I could buy something special. They lied to me every time. Moral of the tory is that I find them to be the most unethical, incompetent, out of touch company and I will not ever again buy anything from them again. Now as I live in the middle of the bush I need to try and find something special for Friday which is close to impossible as our shops don't have as much variety and I will not get it in time in the mail. Disappointed doesn't explain how I feel.
I have a friend buying some sets for her son. Ordered them before I put my order in and her order is still processing.
The pathetic thing is Lego said order by the 13th for delivery for Christmas. Well we did and it looks like us and alot of other people will be not be receiving our orders. Why have a deadline in the first place?
I'm going to write a hand written letter to their head office. Nothing will come of it but at least I'll get it off my chest.
Then when Lego does their little PR bullshit like sending a set to a child that wrote them a letter remember incidents like this.
It's going to make me feel sick when I order the new modular and Star Wars sets next week.
The Cantina was out of stock since it was released here. Then it came back in stock on the 8th there would have been alot of people ordering something they never had in stock. The worrying thing is it was showing as in stock up until a few days ago. I wonder how many others have been caught up in this. I have had no communication from Lego. You'd think that an automatic sorry we don't have this item in stock email would have come by now but it hasn't. It's been 2 weeks and not a word. Why should people chase them up for their screw up and if they do, get lied to and fobbed off only for the company to finally say we never had it in stock in the first place.
3 days before Christmas and they haven't bothered to tell people what they ordered was never in stock is unacceptable in my book.
Maybe I'm a complete pessimist but it really doesn't matter to me why someone orders a product - it matters if the company providing the service or product makes a guarantee and then fails.
I went to buy an end table in October. The furniture store was happy to take my order, and then let me know it'll ship in MARCH 2021. I can certainly then make an informed choice.
With the Cantina example - I think you have a legitimate complaint presuming they guaranteed delivery by Christmas. Sure - maybe there are delays outside of the control of LEGO, but until it ships from their warehouse, it's LEGO's responsibility. Under-promise, over-deliver!
I think I may like this one even more - the metallic highlights on the helmet look really authentic in person.
