Could this be a reult of swallowing LEGO pieces? (Remember the volunteers who swallowed minifig heads to see how long they took to "pass"?)

Me last night. I can't wait for the Batman and Joker Bricksketchers to show up on our store so I'll put in my order now.
Me today. Oh an extra item in my wish list. Batman Bricksketcher available now. Yeah that'd be right.
So I put in another order just for the two sets and something else.

That'll teach me for not sanity checking before I post!
Today my daughter decided she was in a train mood, so we used almost all our track on a mega layout. Goods yard in the corner of our bedroom that led to a circuit on the landing with a spur off to the LEGO room for deliveries. Need more straight track now

I thought I saved myself $100 by not buying the Crocodile locomotive.  Then LEGO announced a functional NES.  Then they announced a working LEGO piano.  Then I found out everything is retiring.  It's been one hell of a week.

I was already planning on getting both the NES and piano when they release, but now I don't know.  Good thing is I think I'll get a second stimulus check to help pay for this stuff.  Oh, and both PS5 and XBOX Series X come out soon and I need a 4k 120 hz tv.

This Facebook Marketplace ad struck me as odd.

(No, I didn't buy one.  I'll wait for my drastically overpriced Razorcrest.)

Odd is right. Why would the price go up when September comes- if that's what seller means? There will a lot more sets available then- perhaps not enough for initial demand, but still more than now. Something is shady there, IMO. I can wait till I find it in stores.

I found out today the Lego light and sound bricks put in sets last year don't last very long. Just under a year and mine from the fire station has called it quits. Only pressed it a few times. I've had sound and light bricks last at least a few years.

Not had that problem myself yet, the Xmas ones seem to work evey year.

We've been having Minion fun this weekend. Son and me have been building and my son has been playing with them a lot. Really great set!

This is a set and a half, you can transfer Kevin into Bob, so if you want all 3, you need more than one set :)

Life’s been super busy so haven't done much Lego lately but on my travels I came across a bargain. They had more, in hindsight I should have bought them all.

The bag on the right has the look of a parent tired of clearing up some Dots sets!
I placed a few BL orders to make a Steampunk style car from Rebrickable. Was pleased to be able to build over half of it from my disorganised piles of bricks!

The bag on the right looks to be mostly spare pieces from various sets. I have a few bags of them in my build room.
  • BastyBasty Member Posts: 496
When I bought them, I askesd if the parts were new / where did they come from. They told me it was for some old displays in the shop. One is obviously Dots, the other I suspect is from a hidden side set as it had some or the glow in the dark pieces.

I saw the NES set but someone on here said it was functional. Functional how? Able to hook up to a TV or monitor and play games?

Turn a crank and the screen moves to make Mario move thru the level a bit. The review on the main site shows the inner workings pretty well but I'm sure there are videos of it in action as well.

While Target couldn't honor Gamestop's price for #70424, something about Gamestop being out of stock, I did get it for their reduced price, and they gave me GS's price on #75955. $23. So, a $70 train for $28-ish is pretty good. If my math is right, I think I effectively got both for the price of one. Also, Casey Jr. is at 666. Kind of a weird number.

After a lot of hemming and hawing, double points persuaded me to pull the trigger on Barracuda Bay. I knew I'd like the ship build but I didn't expect to love the full port-town/shipwreck build as much as I did. It's very much one of those sets that for whatever reason is undersold by photos.

Very very pleased with it, what a great set!

Score one more for the Pirates!  I’m hoping that LEGO executes the Medieval Blacksmith set equally well.

Tomorrow is going to be a very Lego-y day. I'm expecting up to 3 parcels and the new Star Wars sets are in stock where I go. Not all of them sadly but it will be a surprise which ones they have. I'm. not getting any big sets. Just a host of little sets but it's the having them all come at the same time which is exciting.

Out of all the heritage railways in the UK and it's the one I've been to! We went there when were were visiting an aunt and uncle in Abingdon when I was a kid.
I also remember going into London a couple of times from Didcot.

I like British steam and when all this virus rubbish is over I would like to go and see a few more heritage lines.
  • Speedman29Speedman29 Member Posts: 2,338
We're spoilt where I live, got four or five lines within an hour of us. The Watercress line is a great one to ride as its 10 miles of track with four stations you can get off at.

If you're interested in heritage railway, the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster is tough to beat.  6 stations, an engine house and a pub at each stop!

I have an idea of the railways I want to see. I went to Didcot before I really got into steam. I never watched Thomas as a kid. I discovered The Railway Series (The original books for those that don't know) about 10 years ago for a university assignment. I was intrigued so I bought the Rev Awdrys collection and his sons so I had all the books in 2 volumes. I liked the stories so much I read through them in a day and a half. Ever since then I wanted to go to the railways he based some of his stories on. Especially the Tallylyn and the Bluebell, just never got around to actually going to the UK. I kept going to Germany and the US.
The Severn is on my radar as is the Dean Forest Railway. I also want to go back to Didcot. I'd also love to do one of those main line tours they do.

Anyway back to Lego. I got my package from Lego finally and my toy store had the new sets to be released later this week. The Star Wars sets are coming in slowly so I have to wait a bit to pick up the AT AT and Death Star Duel from them but I did get the Iron Man Helmet and Mandalorian Brickheads

the Croc Loco came in! Woot! Pretty excited! I actually lost a little interest in the roller coaster build. Think the Croc will be displayed on my desk at the office next to the 40 years train GWP.

Through the 8 bags on the Roller coaster. First bit of track now laid on the second half of the structure. Fun stuff!

So as an Iron Man suit collector I've decided I need the three new suits from the Armoury and Avengers Tower sets since they're pretty clearly based on MCU suits.

However, they all make use of the terrible newer helmet design, so I've also decided I want to use old helmet parts to substitute in so they fit with the rest of the suits. Which has raised the cost of the whole thing substantially.

Why do I do this to myself...?

Hello, my LEGO status today is: waiting for a LEGO order with Extra Parts I placed on the 26th but with no Gingerbread House it seems, seeing the incoming battle of two sets that mean a lot to me, and counting off the days for the 501st pack.
  • PapaBearPapaBear Member Posts: 665
I built out almost my entire collection of train track a few weeks ago only to find out my last battery box had corroded and I had no way of powering my trains.  Got an order the other day with some new battery boxes and I am building my tracks even bigger this time.

Feeling rather bereft at the moment after packing away the vast majority of my displayed collection and most of my sealed sets and transporting them into storage.

The wife and I are quickly outgrowing our home due to the kids needing more and more space and starting to compete with my Lego space. So we've made the decision to move to a bigger place, bonus is I will have a dedicated Lego room rather than having my collection spread around the various rooms in our house at the moment! Sad to see the empty shelves which used to hold my Creator Expert, Ideas, SW UCS and Marvel sets but still got a few polybags in the drawer to keep me going.

Now just need a buyer so we can start the process of buying the new place and moving all my precious bricks to their new home!!

Got a stack of Lego the last few days. Got the new Star Wars sets minus the AT-AT and Death Star Final Duel. Still waiting for them to come in. Got a Saturday delivery for one set which was a nice surprise. One thing during this pandemic is the courier companies have really been on their A game. At least from my experience.

Why do sellers think a thin sheet of bubble wrap and brown paper will do? Messaged seller.

finished the Roller Coaster this weekend. As much as I enjoyed the build. running it was even more fun than I expected. it's a fantastic set. and man, is it big! I've seen all the vids but it's just so much more impressive in person.  Now deciding if I should start on the croc loco or something else in my large (to me) back log.....

So apparently Warner Brother's let the film rights lapse for The LEGO Movie franchise, and Universal has a 5-picture deal with them... ummm, does this mean no more LEGO Batman movie sequels? Or LEGO Batman characters in the main LEGO Movie franchise?

And what about all those direct-to-video LEGO DC Specials? Is that over? I wasn't expecting much for a LEGO Movie 3, but I was kind of hoping for them to at least finish the trilogy under the same roof.

What made you think there was ever any planned 'trilogy'? It just felt like they made a movie. It was wildly successful, so they made another one. I never got the impression there was ever any 'grand plan' for these movies.
The DC stand alone 'crap fest with sweet minifig' films seem to be independent of the larger theatrical deal. Shazam just came out in June, despite the Warner/Lego deal having expired last year. Unless it was already in the pipes beforehand? We'll know if we don't see another over the next six to eight months, I suppose.

Random bit of information - LEGO North America sales are up 30% in Q1/Q2.  Although the production plant in Mexico was closed for a few weeks, product was shifted from Europe to help meet demand.

Stock is also at a historic low across the board - including Target and Wal-Mart.

That doesn't surprise me at all. S@H here takes 2-3 weeks to even ship items and from what I've seen stock goes out of the stores faster than usual.

My status is hopeful ... 30 July I back ordered #10255 Assembly Square. At the time it said it would ship by August 16 ... I checked on it today and it is IN THE WAREHOUSE. That usually means it ships within a couple of days and then gets here in another 2-3 days so about by the 12th! I was prepared for it to not even ship on time so am excited to see it in the warehouse!
