So our local Lego store has backtracked a bit on re-opening... looks like they will begin “curbside service” in a week (no PAB or BAM), with in-store shopping starting some unspecified time down the road.  There will be no April or May set launches available, and no GWP available (retail store warehouses had shifted to help out the [email protected] orders and the Mexico plant is shut down).  Looks like I’ll be spending some more time on Bricklink for now...

A strange feeling today, my wife said yes to changing the spare bedroom to a Lego room. She's obviously going crazy, but who am I to question?!
Perhaps she just wants all that LEGO stuff out of the rest of the house?

The more I look at Old Trafford and the details in that set the more I want to do the unthinkable for me and buy it. I don't dislike Man United and I do like the stadium itself and the set. It feels odd to me buying a rivals stadium in Lego form.

Buy it, Build it, look at it for a samll time ( week or maybe month or 2) then unbuild it, use it for part for any MOC you make.

Coming to the end of my furlough from work, but very satisfied with 6 weeks worth of set deconstruction and re-boxing, mass disposal of other boxes, tidying of boxes being kept and overall realisation of just how much Lego I’ve bought in the last 6 years!
Also, found these bad boys tucked away at the back of a shelf - I just know there’s going to be a lot of love for the big purple guy!

Also just about to break down #75904 Mystery Mansion and was thinking that’s one of the very few themes I’m complete on (with Mixels & Simpsons), only to find I was missing a polybag #30601. Selling for £10+ on eBay, but managed to find the original Blu-Ray it’s packaged with on Amazon for £8. Result - 3 complete themes!
    Think that deserves a beer!

Gibbo: Going back to work on Monday or expecting it with the announcement due tomorrow?

It's been a strange experience for me. I've never previously worked from home, but on March 16th after a 3 month notice period that felt like 6 months (I hated my last job), I started at my new place. I was in for the 26th and 17th, and have worked from home since. So I've pretty much had to train myself in the new firm's ways of working.

I've been insanely busy on the Lego front in selling off my stash over the last 2 weeks. Lockdown has boosted ebay prices nicely and I've just about cleared £2k. I will probably earmark £500 for a discounted UCS ISD if I can convince myself that a big hollow grey box with poorly executed rear engines is worth £500 and that I can find the room to display it.

Since the demise of Tesco direct, Debenhams not selling Lego now and Sainsburys Lego dropping off with Argos coming in-store, there's not many opportunities to buy desirable sets at a big discount for reinvestment, so I doubt most of the eBay money will be spent on Lego.

Annoyingly, I have a box of new sets somewhere that I can't find, so couldn't list.

@monkeyhanger Back to WFH status. I work for the well known national purveyor of sausage rolls based in Newcastle. Did one week of WFH at end of March then most of us were furloughed. Various teams now coming back (still WFH, I’ve had to up my tech skills somewhat) to gear up for reopening at some point as yet unknown. Superb company to work for and hope we can get things back up and running again.
No plans to sell anything, just had too much built and crammed in a shed. So mainly just keeping Modulars and CMFs out on display. Think I’ve become something of a hoarder but no doubt some relatives will be happy with the inheritance one day!
    Keep safe.

Hope you've got a big oven for all those Sausage Rolls! Nearly joined the aame company as Quality Manager for the Longbenton site but got pipped at the post.

The new job is great, it's a long trek though (Billingham from North Shields) when I will have to be back on site.

It's a mystery where the final big box of Lego has gone. I'm sure I've checked out all the loft space (we have 3 voids).

Need the kids back to school soon, they've turned feral, the youngest getting up in the middle of the night to raid the fridge of all chocolate!

We have built 5 modulars in the last 6 weeks.

Modulars are what hooked me back in from a multi decade dark age back in 2014. Got them all from GE onwards, although I think last couple have dropped a bit in quality compared to, say PR, DO & BB. Won’t stop me buying them though!

Afraid I can’t share the pain re kids but the dogs might get separation anxiety if I ever go back to work properly!

Built the stormtrooper helmet set and instantly found something that irks me... the gray details at the back should be one wider and being angled at both corners (on the movies those are trapezoid details). Was impossible for me to not notice due to being a 501st member as a stormtrooper ==> you get more picky on those details and you got reference material at hand.

Our local outdoor mall that houses the LEGO Store opened this past week. My wife and I went and it felt good to be back out in society. Too bad the LEGO Store was one of a few stores that was still closed.

I found four really small motors that fit inside a stud and a power supply that you can hide underneath the top piece! JK
One of the clear rods with studs at each end from polybag #30452 and some photoshop wizardry. The stick is held from above so the rotor effect covers it and then I used four separate rotational blurs for the blades.
And now I notice a hair on the minifig leg!

I wonder if we'll see any custom "Kings of pain" minifigs with associated nasties like scorpions, snakes etc. If anyone isn't acquainted with this TV series, I suggest you watch it. It involves capturing nasties and then pissing them off until they sting/bite/barb the presenters who then rate the attack on initial pain, damage inflicted and longevity.

So does this set not come with an instruction, build book? Seems like it's all in the boost app, which is fine. I was just curious. that omission surprised me.

I put in an order a few days ago for #4000026 LEGO House Tree of Creativity for me and  #41902 Sparkly Unicorn Bracelet, #41903 Cosmic Wonder Bracelet and 2x #41908 Extra Dots - Series 1 for my daughters.
All arrived today, along with the mystery gift, which turned out to be the April mini-build, #40398 Easter Bunny, so nothing massively exciting, but free Lego's free Lego! :-)

True, but Steve Irwin also had a love of the animals and wanted to show how they were dangerous but also weren't much of a threat and should be cared for.

These guys big up the animal as the most dangerous in the world. Then get they get bit and basically chest bump each other.
