My status - finally getting a dedicated Lego room set up and started sorting 5 years of unsorted bulk purchases.
Even though my state is currently under a "Stay Home" order, I work for a company which falls under a "critical manufacturing sector" definition. So at least for the time being, I'm still going to work most days, albeit with some limitations and modifications.
In any case, we broke open the box on Sunday, and are taking our time working through the model. Have thoroughly enjoyed it so far!
I've already experienced the benefits of being able to pull out my bin of slopes/plates/bricks and find the part I needed, or realize I didn't have it.
To each their own is what it really comes down to. But I finally decided to pull the trigger and swap over and I haven't regretted it at all!
All told when said and done , both should be 100% complete for about $110-120 total! Not too shabby.
On a different note, the Creeper BigFig is a perfect smartphone stand for horizontal video nested under the chin of the thing. And it is like you have a friend watching with you. Is quarantine getting to me yet? No, why do you ask?
(And I thought about pushing everything to the back, but that's where the UCS Star Wars sets are, and the '90's/'80's LEGO. Pirates, Castle and Ninja. And Spongebob. And TMNT. And a set of loose LotR. And on the top is the Vikings display that's not made itself to a coffee table... yet.)
A cloak isn't going to be enough, have you thought about curtains?
And here I thought my backlog was bad. Two Voltrons? Dude, are you sure you don't have a problem? Buzz and Zurg? Those are like ten years old, why are they still trapped in their cardboard prisons? Wait, are those even the LEGO buildable figures or actual Toy Story figures? Hard to tell from that shot.
How does your wife put up with you man? What's the secret? I really need to know, for research purposes as I am soon perhaps to be in the market for one. ;)
I casually mentioned that I had a sizeable LEGO collection. I think at the time that translated into: 'Blah blah blah'. And when I met my wife, the volume of my collection was stored off-site. She had no idea until be bought our house. Then I had to conceal most of it in my basement. And garage.
Anybody... anybody?
I pulled these to keep busy:
Modular detective office (still in original bags)
fishing village (in pieces... fell on the floor before I finished it)
CMF collection (unorganized bags of figs)
saturn v (in box)
and its its time to assemble these... getting excited for next week’s pirate purchase:
It was such a hot, dusty day.
Although I thought I found some on the street, it was MB litter.
In a similar thought~:
As for my status...on another long-term self-imposed dark age, only came back to get S20 minifugures.
I was always a blue coat guy when it came to Pirates. I don't recall that I ever got more than one of the red coat Imperial sets. So now in my adult LEGO career, it's all about collecting the 89-91 blue coat Imperials for me. I'd love to snag #6267 some day!
There's probably a good reason for it but it was one of those things that crossed my mind as I dropped yet another handful of parts on the floor because sausage fingers were trying to pluck small trans parts and gears out of another bag of connectors. :/
I was alone on the street so it was safe.
I found 1 red 2x2 lego brick and a yellow 1x1 plate..... So I'll count that as a win!
The £20 note I found was another bonus. :)
