Found myself in The Entertainer toyshop. A handful of new 2020 sets in a display in the window. Inside.....about six 2019 sets and nothing else. Sorry sir they're just for display!

This afternoon the stunningly beautiful young lady in the LEGO shop greeted me like an old acquaintance. 'It's a very nice set,' she said smilingly, while she nodded to the large box I had placed on the counter.

Her dark brown eyes glowed like charcoal and formed a surprising contrast to her long blonde hair. 'And now your presents,' she said while she conjured up two items from a drawer beneath the counter. A small polybag and a large flat package made their way into my XXL shopping bag.

And so I ran away towards my waiting commuter train, overwhelmed by her kindness and beauty on one hand and my anticipation for a wonderful building experience on the other hand.
    ...
In case you don't see me around on this forum for the next two days... now you know why. I will leave the untold to your imagination. Have a nice weekend you all!

All very nice and stuff, but what was in the poly and the other package? I’ll be at the same counter Monday!

    ;)

Waiting to hear from @SumoLego , who doesn't look like a sumo, nor like a 2x4 brick.

Got another organising tray from Ikea the other day. Makes finding pieces in multi bag stages much easier

@eMJeeNL The poly is #30548 Build your own birds and the other item is a large paper bag together with wrapping paper, XL stickers and some other stuff.

@KungFuKenny about Fabuland set looks blocky like a lot of old LEGO sets but the animal heads and curved windows/doors make it look more modern than some sets from the era.
You gave set numbers 134/344, Brickset has it as 134-*2*: https://brickset.com/sets/134-2/Service-Station

Supermarket has #71024 Disney s2 CMF on clearance, finally got around to putting together an identification guide.
Huey, Dewey and Louie are the only ones with significant value, though Sally and Jack Skellington also go for above MSRP. Thought Anna, Elsa and Jasmine might've been more popular as minifigure versions of characters usually seen as minidolls

I bought a 2017 tiger to act as Rajah, and use with my Dumbo IDEA, and the panther to act as Bagheera from the Jungle Book.

Booked my daughter in for a free Minibuild session. A little dragon. So many adults on Facebook complaining it’s kids only. I wasn’t one of them. Seriously.

^^^ I got that minibuild when I was in there buying DC minifigs - I was with my son, so maybe that was why? Didn't notice until I got home that it was in there... thought it was very nice of the Lego peeps.

Hoping this isn't becoming the new normal for Lego releases, several retailers (including Kmart) have started putting all of the 2019 Hidden Side, Ninjago Legacy & Ninjago Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitsu sets on clearance. Considering we've only had these sets available since late August/early September, that means they've been out less than six months & they're already being retired.

It has been good in some respects, with the clearance prices for these sets, we're currently averaging around 45% off retail for the purchases we have made so far. We're 3 sets away from having all the 2019 Hidden Side sets & 4 sets away from having all the Ninjago Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitsu sets.

I wish had known they would do that considering I purchased them all during last year. Do you notice there’s virtually nothing on the shelves in the Kmarts, big Ws etc.? I went to my nearest Myer as well and the shelves were a few sets from being empty. They had multiples of all the big modular sets and now they’re all gone and haven’t been replaced. My local Kmart was half empty by New Years as well.

Yeah, the shelves are getting pretty bare around these parts too, but we were told part of the issue is the fires & the amount of major road closures that are ongoing at the moment, it's not just Lego that stores are running low, some retailers are running low on Hot Wheels stuff & most places currently have no Marvel Titan Heroes on shelves (according to a friend all the stores down her way are out of those LOL Surprise things).
  • CharmiefcbCharmiefcb Member Posts: 451
Myers stock on their website went down considerably over the New Year period.
I haven't been into a store for a few weeks so I don't know stock levels.
That said I'm going to the Lego store at Bondi tomorrow. I want to see if they have Bookstore and Central Perk. I'm prepared to be let down honestly.
It will also be the first time I have caught a train by myself in Sydney. Caught trains by myself all over the world but never here.

I was very pleased to see pics of the new Goofy and Donald Duck Brickheadz, as these arrived in the mail a few days ago...

    along with Elsa and Anna...

I had planned on MOCing a Donald Duck BH but now I can focus on other characters like Daisy, Chip n’ Dale, and Clarabelle...

Went to Kmart Munno Para & Ingle Farm in last couple days, staff at both stores admitted that stock delivery dates keep getting shifted back, citing it's probably due to all the road closures. So until these fires get dealt with, the situation doesn't look likely to change much, I feel a little bit sorry for AFOLs in Perth, last I heard, all major roads between here & there are still closed, so they'd have no chance of new stock.

I went to the Lego Store at Bondi Junction today.
They didn't have Bookshop but they did have Central Perk and a few other things I wanted.
One thing I did notice is they seem to be missing a few of the big sets. I didn't see the Ford Mustang and the 89 Batmobile.
The Star Wars section was quite small and only seemed to have a few sets. Speed Champions was bare and I only saw one new double pack.
They did have exclusive sets in small shelves on the floor. IE the new Chinese set, Disney train and station and Central Perk.
I just feel Myer Sydney City (I assume it's the same for all major city flagship Myer stores) seems to have more stock in their Lego section than this store.
I would go there again for an exclusive set. The staff were friendly.

That said their internal staircase is an accident waiting to happen. It's narrow and steep.

I only went in there because Australian Open Tennis 2 wasn't being stocked at EB Games for some reason. I had to go into the City anyway and all I had to do was get a train to get there.

No, LOL Surprise dolls, my daughter loves them and they fit behind the wheel of the Technic 911 GT3 too !

Todays status, my plan for LEGO world domination is going well. One of my work colleagues loves Star Wars and I'll often chat about my latest builds. He got an X-Wing over Christmas to build. When he told me I said " well, now you need a Tie fighter to go with it".....he's just bought the Sith Tie!

Went back to the local store today as the BAM was being stocked with new parts...

They would only let me take 1 pink elephant as it will be included in a prebuilt pack, but I was able to snag a few penguins, Vitruvian man torsos, white Santa hats, and Year of the Rat kimonos.  They also had some nice dual molded leg options... all in all some nice figs available this month!

@Fizyx I think it may be the instructions that are incorrect, or Lego have run out of Sand Green 1x6s worldwide, as the 1x6 plates in my set (UK) were also DBG.
