Happy with my trip to the LEGO Store today. Hopefully we get some Speed Champions or City Harley LEGO Sets.

@dmcc0 its scary how that sounds so familiar! Just glad the wife doesn't go into the loft or shows any curiosity over the storage locker I've been forced to rent for extra storage space!

I'm about at the storage locker stage myself.  It's not helped by other, smaller (in number, not necessarily in size....) collecting I've been doing as well...

I also got my very first SDCC exclusive in the mail yesterday.  Zebra Batman... I'm no huge Batman fan or anything, but the figure was just too bizarre for me to pass up.  I've got Barb coming as well, which should round out my collection of currently existing LEGO Stranger Things items.

Finally, was in the store yesterday for the Harley make and take, and let me tell you, the Hidden Side sets are even more dangerous than I thought they would be.  I've seen them in store twice now, and both times I've been like 'the ppp on those isn't bad, and they are such good sets.... I can just get one, right?'  SO MUCH FOR SALES.  I guess I'm just lucky I haven't walked away with the Treehouse yet also, since it looks even more amazing in person than in pictures!

I went to the Harley Davidson mini-build event yesterday as well. Fun little set! Bummed to not have actual instructions for it though.

Noticed on BnPs that the white horses (10509) came back in stock so I ordered a few, along with some bits for the WV train cars I'm working on building.

@mustang69, custom cars for your WV train? Or additional cars for one of the existing sets?

I'd definitely be interested in seeing your progress!

I have a 10' x 10' by 10' rented storage locker so full of LEGO I can't walk into it.

@Switchfoot55 It's going to take a while to finish, especially since right now I dont have room anymore to set up my holiday trains. I am just slowly collecting pieces as I make BnP or PaB orders for other things. The end result is going to look similar to the one @inklingbricks (mouseketeer at the time) posted a couple of years back. When I get the chance I'll post a pic.

Can't decide if my LEGO status is "Dodged a bullet" or "Danger":

Wife: What are all these boxes all over the floor?  Do they really need to be there, can't they go in the loft out of the way?

Me: LEGO.  I'm sorting some stuff.  If they go in the loft they'll never get sorted."

Wife: F*@king LEGO! They've been there for weeks and I'm sick of them.  There's crap everywhere.
Its all slight of hand, if you are constantly moving things around she never knows exactly how much you have!

I have the added fun of event stock and equipement. Down side is there is a lot more to store, up side is that i have excuses for boxes of sets being around.  Lets not start on what i have stored at other afols houses.

Uhhh.  I would love that, but wife would never go for a storage locker.  Not to mention I know darn well I shouldn't be spending money on a storage locker and the contents that would fill the locker.

I went as well with my kids.  The build is pretty darn cool.  I was little disappointed with the store's organization of the event.  They had a table set up with the yellow Lego boxes containing the parts and guy with the sign up sheeting checking people off.  That's all good.  But they did not have the usual glossy printout sheets either.  About 3 people picking parts and they were holding printed instructions.  That's all they had so we waited.  Line grew.  Finally someone came out of back with a few more printed copies, but not one for each person.  Ok no glossy sheet (which I prefer), but how hard would it be to have one printout ready for each person that signed up?
Still worth it as we got 4 copies.  Short but fun build.  Cool results.  Nice addition of parts if nothing else.

Hmm anyone know how often Bricks and Pieces inventory is updated from out of stock to stock?
  • mustang69mustang69 North CarolinaMember Posts: 413
@madejp86 I cant say this is representative of all cases but on Tuesday morning I checked to see if the white horse fig (design 10509) was available and it showed out of stock still. Then I checked on Wednesday morning and saw that it was in stock. I had been checking at least daily prior to that for about a week or so too.

All I remember about Y2K was the huge amounts of overtime I got paid for working as a service engineer in the security industry on the 31st of December. As the clocks rolled onto the 1st January and absolutely nothing happened!

My bad, it was actually Jethro Tull who fought the Steppenwolf... at Survivor Series against the Bushwhackers... until the San Diego Chicken interfered with the Yardbirds at Woodstock Y2K.

It's true.  I read it on the internet.

    Frustrated!
I have little experience with Technic sets but I got a #42006 in a lot I bought. I have an issue. The instructions show the (tan) connector sliding completely into the driving ring (red), then the gear (dk grey) slides onto the driving ring. The problem is the gear forces the connector out causing the gear to not turn when assembled. Am I missing some technique?

    ^^ @TheMaker37 — is it this step?

DId you face face the dark grey gears the right way?  (See also step 18).  If that isn’t the issue then I don’t know— perhaps a resident Technic expert will have some ideas...

    Thanks @Legopants!

@KungFuKenny; didn’t manage to finish it, some physical discomfort stopped me building (shoulderaches... :(), but i agree it’s a great build. Have some questionmarks regarding playability (e.g. the railings are prone to fall off), but it’s a very good set!

Pleased to find the local toy chain had all the new Friends sets 30% off. Was able to get a good deal on the ocean explorer set my daughter is super excited about for her birthday next week.

I'd say I'm a bit bittersweet as I think I got a good set, but it's missing some pieces. $40 on FB marketplace.

My son is obsessed with minifigs. He has about 50 since he started collecting them and sets this year. He wanted me to show you guys his two favourites - Venom and Carnage. He also plays all the available games on Apknite about Venom.
