I used to not understand backlogs of sets to build. I'm much more familiar with it now.
Speaking of which, I need to get my next target list together for a rummage through the bulk tables. I have a few stands to build for SW ships. Hoping I can get all the parts for less than $10.
When you need to fulfil the minimum cost per lot on BrickLink....
Trying to recreate the Lego Movie 2 Batman War Machine development model. The only reference from that one single Brickset photo not withstanding, it appears there are lots of Technic parts & connections used for the framework within, which sucks as my only experience with Technic is that one single 720pcs excavator set I've build 10 years back.
My whole Technic collection amounts to only 13 sets, but the good thing is that many non Technic Lego sets apparently uses Technic bricks, so no shortage of parts in my Lego collection.
Still, I guess it's a good learning opportunity and I'm making progress, albeit slowly. :-)
It's easier to breakdown the model into below major parts:
1. Big drill (with 2 direction spinning of the drill parts). Although I've manage to do the 2 direction spinning, the wheel movement does not create a torque strong enough to move the gear system. I wonder if the proto model uses the wheel movement to spin (with an efficient gear system) or just via manual method.
2. Body framework (front)
3. Angled body framework (back)
4. Classic batmobile (same model as set #76052, but since I don't have the set, managed to build the car with my own parts).
5. Big yellow cement mixer truck. Did a search in Brickset but apparently TLG did not
have any official set that is even remotely close to the size of this one, so will have to build one from the pic.
Edit: found it! https://zusammengebaut.com/das-geheimnis-dieser-the-lego-movie-2-sets-66414/
I think I'm now at a stage where any part of the model that is not visible in the Brickset photo I will use my own imagination and discretion to build it.
In the video, the designer mentioned about the big drill sagging a bit, which is same as mine, guess their design also uses the technic axle to support the drill. Was thinking they may be using other techniques.
Bowled over by these parts from Bricks and Pieces!
Pic taken with Emmet's Triple Decker Couch Mech. :-)
Would there happen to be a convenient filter or bricklist which shows how many sets contain these notorious for breaking parts so one might check to see if they happen to have any in their possession?

My favorite show of all time is Avatar: The Last Airbender. I first watched it a few years ago. I’ve been pining to get the LEGO sets for a long time, but since there were only two sets and they didn’t sell many, the second-hand market prices are insane! I finally found a great deal on a used set #3828-1 on eBay.
Issues with the one I bought: Aang’s legs are wrong, Sokka’s head is all but destroyed by something that enjoyed chewing on it (replacement is already ordered), and some pieces were dirty, but they cleaned up nicely. I’m usually weary of buying used sets for the above reasons, but this was a really good deal so I’m not upset. Everything was there and went together nicely. I’m mega happy it come with the instruction book that is in great shape.
I’ll definitely be buying #3829-1 new, but I need to same some more money for that!
Btw, the firebender minifig is awesome. And considering when this set was sold, I’m impressed by the build and it’s techniques, especially for a set made in 2006 that cost $30!
Cool deal, still!
