^ On the other hand, a lot of people join here initially for the purpose of selling something, and everyone's gotta start somewhere. Perhaps known scammers should be banned by IP or something.

I'm also still awaiting my package. He even called me "a respected member of the BScommunity" - thus giving me the idea i'd not be scammed.

Also, I checked his BL-account for references, and he turned out to be a regular buyer - even with feedback from my local BL-store AFOLsupply. Therefore I decided to trust him (with the protection of MasterCard issuer and PayPal in mind).

However, the tracking code he provided does only yield a "pending" message on the T&T site of Colissimo (which sucks in itself, btw), but when requesting assistance from the people at Colissimo, you first need to enter a valid T&Tcode, ad it doesn't recognise this one.

Again, I still hope to receive my #10197, but really have given up hope. Have let him know that if I haven't received anything by end of day, I'd both inform my CCissuer and BS.

Try using 17track for tracking purposes. Maybe you'll get more info.

I had a problem with a former Brickset member a few years ago. Although there isn't much Huw or the other Moderators can do to police Marketplace transactions (we trade or buy on this site at your own risk!), they can certain ban folks that demonstrate themselves to be spammers or scammers.

I would suggest being persistent, but also be understanding in case there is an interveining factor that has caused the delay.  Remember - the goal is to get the item!

A week isn't a huge delay - although there are a lot of warning signs here.

(I also avoid trading 'big' stuff with new members, or people that don't have any feedback.  If the deal is too good, I have faith there will be another one down the road.)

You obviously have a load of work ahead of you!
I just finished building the new speed champion sets, and really enjoyed the builds. This is the only theme where I actually enjoy applying the stickers. The mini & the chevy are my favorites! This line continues to impress me.

@eMJeeNL & @Basty Have you also tried filling an NSS through Bricklink or asking for help on their forum? The members over there usually are kind enough to offer advice & helpful information to buyers/sellers who have problems.

Also, if you used Paypal you can always file a claim if things don't get resolved.

Current Lego status is building my finally-acquired #10247 Ferris Wheel. Was fortunate enough to grab it a couple weeks ago when Walmart got a few final copies in stock. I will be building at this afternoon. It seems that I have to build a really big set to occupy my mind whenever a relationship ends. Last time was #70751 Temple of Airjitzu, now it's a carnival ride. If all goes well I'll be able to acquire the Carousel and absolutely awe-inspiring Roller Coaster at some point as well.

+1 for Carcassonne and Sheriff. What's atop Carcassonne?

And I take it you play the piano?

@SprinkleOtter atop Carcassone is the Catan 5-6 player expansion pack. Welcomes more people and makes games even longer!

Sheriff of Nottingham really is a blast, isn't it? Especially when my friends or family get 'in character' as medieval peasants. It's fun and often hilarious.

And yes. Piano was actually my college major. With a degree like that, I was well prepared for my fast food career! (Spent 6 years at Chick-fil-A previously)

Ah! I've never had a chance to get into Catan, but I definitely want to!

Indeed! As soon as I make some observation like "nobody is ever carrying honest goods with just two in their pouch," someone catches on and changes their strategy!

I feel like a total putz now, because I was looking at your shelf, when all I had to do was look at that large, conspicuous white metal thing!

I'm sure I could get quicker with a couple of practise runs too! Its quite an easy polybag to build, the Chameleon one we did the other year at show was fiddly and my "little helper" froze for the first 15 seconds of the build shouting "what do we do daddy?"

  • I've got a question about the Powered Up system. I couldn't find anything with a quick Google search..

I'm currently working on a train MOC and got the Powered Up system from the Batman RC Batmobile set (the Hub + M Motor). The train I'm working on uses axles to move forward and right now I use the old Power Functions system, but I forgot I had the newer ones so I tried those today. However, when I use the app (as I don't have the new remote) I can only use the menu for the Batmobile and not the train control menu.

Is that because it's connected to the M motor instead of the train wheel setup? If I buy the Powered Up remote can I use that for the train even though I don't use the train motor?

Right now I can move the train forward and back via the app, but I have to manually adjust the controls while in the train menu you can simply put it on 'mode 1-10' to keep the train running.

Realized today that it's my 7th year being a part of Brickset forums, as I joined in February 2012. My activity has waned a lot the past few years, but I'm still just as addicted (if not more so) to the LEGO brick... grateful to be part of such an amazing community!
Well I for one have definitely been enjoying the stuff you've been putting out on Instagram. The LEGO community is quite different there compared to here, but it's still a great medium for sharing our shared passions.

The Powered UP system identifies the devices that are plugged into the hub - the train control on the official app will only work while there's a train motor plugged into it, and the Batmobile control will only work while there's M motors plugged into it.

Take a look on the app store - there are third party (non-Lego) apps out there that will allow you to do this.

Sounds like Lego needs to put together a Power Up "Master Builders" app that allows greater control over the hub.

I'm hoping they release a combined Powered UP/Boost/Technic Control+ app since all the hubs and devices are compatible. :) But they've also released the Bluetooth protocol so that we can build our own apps and libraries - https://lego.github.io/lego-ble-wireless-protocol-docs

For the programmers among us, I've written a Node.js library that does just that - https://github.com/nathankellenicki/node-poweredup/

There's quite a few projects in the works, I think for the moment Lego is leaving it up to us.

Hahaha! I legit hesitated when I went to buy that set. I kinda want another one now, just because I like the alt build creatures so much! Duplo is mad fun, oddly enough.

I'm slightly frustrated at the moment, but in a good way! I've been building for the past few weeks, and buying new stuff and enjoying the new movie. But when it comes to putting all that on here I just don't have the time! I'll try to catch up (with photos), but for now:

Saw TLM2 with my boys - very good, but not quite as ground-breaking as the original.
Built the UCS X-Wing - love the wing mechanism.
Built the Overwatch Gibraltar set - it's essentially Classic Space but with modern stuff!
Built Benny's Space team set - exactly how my nostalgia would want it to be.
Built the Dodge set - they look very nice.

Bought a couple more things over the past few weeks. Can't really remember which things though. Hang on... Oh yes: #75975 Watchpoint: Gibraltar (obvs) and #31091 Shuttle Transporter. I'll be buying more space stuff when the next bunch of City sets is released.

And that's about it. Further comments will go in the respective threads when I get a spare second, but I'm not sure I'll get one soon! Happy building all!

I’m tempted to get half a dozen to try to make a more movie accurate version of the octopus like creature...but I don’t have anything like the needed cash for that.

Right? It's really the only option for a bunch of basic Duplo bricks that you need to make the types of creatures featured in the film. I actually browsed TRU's shelves, looking for a set with the rounded 2x4 bricks with eyes to make the ostritch(?) and the little flying ones from... but all of the sets currently available are very specialized, with like farm elemets or houses (and...Jurassic World Duplo! Who knew?). There's legit no other 'basic Duplo bricks' set out there, besides the TLM2 set.

Buying more will have to wait until I've finished off the theme though. I'll see how strong the desire still is in May, after shelling out for another pile of new sets (I can't freaking wait to get #70838 and #70839).

Just added 8 Polybags from this year to my collection, one of which is DUPLO related... why did I buy it? Dare I say why not? I mean I'm going to be 37 this year, why not expand what I buy to review on this site and see if I can't help others in shopping decisions?
