Also, I checked his BL-account for references, and he turned out to be a regular buyer - even with feedback from my local BL-store AFOLsupply. Therefore I decided to trust him (with the protection of MasterCard issuer and PayPal in mind).
However, the tracking code he provided does only yield a "pending" message on the T&T site of Colissimo (which sucks in itself, btw), but when requesting assistance from the people at Colissimo, you first need to enter a valid T&Tcode, ad it doesn't recognise this one.
Again, I still hope to receive my #10197, but really have given up hope. Have let him know that if I haven't received anything by end of day, I'd both inform my CCissuer and BS.
I would suggest being persistent, but also be understanding in case there is an interveining factor that has caused the delay. Remember - the goal is to get the item!
A week isn't a huge delay - although there are a lot of warning signs here.
(I also avoid trading 'big' stuff with new members, or people that don't have any feedback. If the deal is too good, I have faith there will be another one down the road.)
Also, if you used Paypal you can always file a claim if things don't get resolved.
Got my little display set up at Reading Brick Show
I hadn't made the colour connection...
Current Lego status is building my finally-acquired #10247 Ferris Wheel. Was fortunate enough to grab it a couple weeks ago when Walmart got a few final copies in stock. I will be building at this afternoon. It seems that I have to build a really big set to occupy my mind whenever a relationship ends. Last time was #70751 Temple of Airjitzu, now it's a carnival ride. If all goes well I'll be able to acquire the Carousel and absolutely awe-inspiring Roller Coaster at some point as well.
Sheriff of Nottingham really is a blast, isn't it? Especially when my friends or family get 'in character' as medieval peasants. It's fun and often hilarious.
And yes. Piano was actually my college major. With a degree like that, I was well prepared for my fast food career! (Spent 6 years at Chick-fil-A previously)
I'm sure I could get quicker with a couple of practise runs too! Its quite an easy polybag to build, the Chameleon one we did the other year at show was fiddly and my "little helper" froze for the first 15 seconds of the build shouting "what do we do daddy?"
I'm currently working on a train MOC and got the Powered Up system from the Batman RC Batmobile set (the Hub + M Motor). The train I'm working on uses axles to move forward and right now I use the old Power Functions system, but I forgot I had the newer ones so I tried those today. However, when I use the app (as I don't have the new remote) I can only use the menu for the Batmobile and not the train control menu.
Is that because it's connected to the M motor instead of the train wheel setup? If I buy the Powered Up remote can I use that for the train even though I don't use the train motor?
Right now I can move the train forward and back via the app, but I have to manually adjust the controls while in the train menu you can simply put it on 'mode 1-10' to keep the train running.
Take a look on the app store - there are third party (non-Lego) apps out there that will allow you to do this.
For the programmers among us, I've written a Node.js library that does just that - https://github.com/nathankellenicki/node-poweredup/
There's quite a few projects in the works, I think for the moment Lego is leaving it up to us.
Congratz!
Hahaha! I legit hesitated when I went to buy that set. I kinda want another one now, just because I like the alt build creatures so much! Duplo is mad fun, oddly enough.
Saw TLM2 with my boys - very good, but not quite as ground-breaking as the original.
Built the UCS X-Wing - love the wing mechanism.
Built the Overwatch Gibraltar set - it's essentially Classic Space but with modern stuff!
Built Benny's Space team set - exactly how my nostalgia would want it to be.
Built the Dodge set - they look very nice.
Bought a couple more things over the past few weeks. Can't really remember which things though. Hang on... Oh yes: #75975 Watchpoint: Gibraltar (obvs) and #31091 Shuttle Transporter. I'll be buying more space stuff when the next bunch of City sets is released.
And that's about it. Further comments will go in the respective threads when I get a spare second, but I'm not sure I'll get one soon! Happy building all!
Across the whole weekend only one person asked about that part. It’s not a perfect fit but I went with it for a bit of fun
Trying hard to resist completing a collection of other parts!
Buying more will have to wait until I've finished off the theme though. I'll see how strong the desire still is in May, after shelling out for another pile of new sets (I can't freaking wait to get #70838 and #70839).
