But you can! It comes with a convenient shoulder strap, so all you have to do is hold the back handle with the trigger on it!

My status is drooling over the new Spider-Man 2099 minifigure. The design of that figure is amazing! I haven't seen the set in any stores near me yet. Good thing too, since I would be tempted to grab it even though my Lego budget is $0 right now. XD

My status today is I have decided to take action on this winter train because it’s driving me crazy. I normally don’t get annoyed with sets but the addition of the power functions is really eating at me. Every time my son starts playing with it and asking for help getting the engineer in the train, I just say to myself that this thing could be so much better. It’s such a cluttered mess. The grey pieces you have to swap into the train and the small caboose also drive me crazy. I’ve never MOCed anything before so I’m new to all this. Seems like a simple thing that even I couldn’t screw up but who knows.
Now the debate is whether or not to buy a second set or to try to source parts separately. Either way, something must be done!

Hahahah lol. You just got owned. Or, really, your modulars did. :)

I'd still awaiting my BnP/PaB order, so i'll be able to start my Mouseketeer's Gingerbread House. Wish the damn postal services would just hurry the **** up.

I've finally got all the pieces together (I hope!) to build the Build Better Bricks Oliphant, so will start putting that together shortly.

Otherwise, I just noticed that I've hit a (small) milestone of 500 sets:

That does include a number of CMFs, but nonetheless... :-)

I better never divorce this woman!
At least she's interested in Lego.  My wife absolutely hates the stuff with a passion.  Even the smallest, simplest build has her freaking out that parts are missing, instructions are not clear enough etc, etc. A few weeks ago she reluctantly helped me build a few of my daughters smaller sets so she could sell them and I couldn't believe how stressed out she was getting.

Isn't this just epic or what!?
Can't remember when I scored such a bargain, even though I was no longer planning on buying any more Lego, and definitely not such a huge set.

Found myself in a kerfuffle with my wife over a box of Lego Classic of all things. My son just wants bricks to build things so I got the #10704 on Black Friday. I thought myself a smart shopper but wife is annoyed by the cardboard box. She wants to get him the #10698 because it has a nice plastic box and LESS pieces. I told her this makes no sense because it’s $28 more. We can buy a storage bin for peanuts, but she likes that it’s shaped like a Lego brick. I feel like in the twilight zone or something.

I'd suggest checking out Craigslist. Depending on what part of NC you're in, there are some great deals on LEGO storage.

Also, just checked on a whim and there are a LOT of people on BrickLink selling just the box of 10698 for really cheap (between $2 and $5)! Probably people who bought the set to part out. That might be the easiest way to resolve this feud!

I guess I got you beaten. I saw it yesterday on amazon for like 166€. Since I bought a lot of sets this month, I thought, maybe tomorrow if it's still discounted.
    I check today, and it's 147.40€ (from 260) !
I guess I got over budget quite a bit, but maybe it's better than regretting missing such a deal.

    Good for you dude!
Do you also have the first TNM NC set #70620?
I don't, but that has now become pretty much a must have! It is just so expensive (€329,99 at full retail price). Hope it won't retire any time soon!

@TheBigLegoski if you ever want to come by Lisbon, say something and I can get you #70620 for about 240€.
It's 299,99€ here, but sometimes you can get it with a 20% discount. The 70€ will probably cover the flight on EasyJet or a similar airline company.
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437
    Thanks! but also LOL
Can you picture bringing that set along as hand-luggage on your Easyjet/Ryanair flight?! If they even allow it, it will be one huge box sitting on your lap in a cramped tight seat sticking out every which way.
Seriously though, thanks, in case I will head that way I will give you a shout out.

Bought @Mouseketeer WV train carriage plans and BL lists from ebay last night. Now deciding which ones to make up for this year. The hot chocolate wagon is a firm fave with my daughter and I fancy the tree wagon as well. Then a redesign of the tender to make that powered instead of the train as others have done.

they overproduced the ninjago city docks or what?
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437

Not sure if this set got overproduced?! Fact is, I just clicked on #70657 link on the Brickset homepage at the daily refreshed Amazon.de deals topic. Only to see that this set is now priced at €205,87. Though when you click on the link '99 new' from €149 at the amazon.de site you'll see that for prime members (which I am not) new stock should arrive soon. If it ever does?! As this does not always happen, nor at that  bargain price. Though I hope it will for anyone still looking for that set.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
I actually only planned to get ninjago city as it seems to be the superior set. I passed even at -30% on [email protected] but at 150€, I figured it's the size of assembly square at the price of the parisian restaurant...

Love that! I'll try to check regularly (not on Twitter, but I'll save the link). Very good idea.

I've been a bit quite but been actually pretty busy with Lego, finished my first ever 'commissioned' MOC last week. Seemed to be well received so I'm very pleased with that.

Started building the Hogwarts Castle with instructions this weekend in between my son's birthday party happenings. He had a sleepover, Lego Batman Movie themed. I'll post the ideas in the appropriate party thread this week. Only problem was, when we turned the movie on, it was only in English (I didn't think to check if it was dubbed in Dutch). The kids didn't mind too much and they watched G-Force (which was dubbed and they enjoyed a lot too).

Lol my wife suddenly has strong Lego feelings. I had picked up the Police Station from Barnes and Noble to get the Harry Potter minfigs and she doesn’t want him to have the station. She doesn’t like the whole good guy/bad guy thing. I’m like “he’s a 5-year old boy! This is what they do! And besides these minfigs need justice!”   She wants the hospital for him instead. I suppose all the construction guys can go there when they get hurt on the job.

Don't worry. Having once been a 5-year old boy in NC, I think it is safe to say the hospital will easily convert to a police station as long as your son's imagination is intact.

Due to several reasons, we missed opening the first few doors for our Advent calendar this year. We opened the first four yesterday.

I was a bit surprised to find two minifigs stuffed into the door for Day 2 on the 2018 City Advent Calendar. Did anyone else have this happen? Or was it just a lucky drop for me?
