I realized I forgot to show my latest MOC; Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. Hope these pictures aren’t too big.

After doing some big free-builds I'm just taking it easy this weekend and doing small creator sets. After making the fish yesterday, I've made the cockatoo, frog and fly today (#31031 ). Love the colours on this one and my son loves playing with the digestive functions!

Cool to see all the pictures @Speedman29 and @Legopants. Some great works again over there.
My own lego-status? Doing some Secret Santa admin and having Christmas songs in my head while doing it.

Had a great time at STEAM once again. Great to bump into a few Bricksetters - this time I met @omnium in person :-) What a top bloke! :-) And here's his cool display:

Thank you, sir! It was great to meet you too. It was nice chatting to someone in the real world, even if I did mostly witter on about a load of old nonsense :-)

Where did you pick these up from, and are you happy with the quality? I've seen the like from some vendors, but wasn't real sure on what level of product they were peddling.

It's basically a 50-count acrylic card holder and a double-sided color print on card stock.

I'm just really, really lazy and don't want to waste hours trying to find the graphic, size the graphic and then print (or have printed) the backing.

I got them off of eBay, and immediately tossed out the included custom minifigure.  Awhile back I got ones for the other chrome SW minifigures.  They were cheaper and didn't have the silly minifigures.  All have held up fine - I'm very happy with how they look.

My status is "trying to figure out how picky I am".  Just put my Kessel Mine Worker together and the torso/leg printing is a little off.  I can't unsee it now.  Would you all contact LEGO if you got this?

I wouldn't bother- it's a freebie, so I just look at it and think, "Woo-hoo! Free LEGO!" And who's to say that a replacement would be any better? When I get home, I'll look at mine again. It might be off in the other direction- then we could swap parts! I do wish they wouldn't design the prints on minifigs this way. It doesn't work so well for trading for different legs.

^I agree. It doesn't look too bad, in my opinion. I would just leave it.

I wouldn't normally bother, but this is made for display and hooks up with the others in the series so I'll have to look at it more often.

If you squint and tilt your head a little to the left, it looks fine! You could nickname the fig "Squints" to justify your actions every time you look at it.

Judging by the one posted by Brickset - they all likely look the same.

I folded and contacted them anyway. CS says they are going to match a torso and legs up for me and send it out.

    I <3 LEGO customer service.

@Muftak1 - you are absolutely correct. It is indeed Mr Small (I wondered why he was smaller than the others). I think Mr Strong wears a green hat, doesn't he? And, as you quite rightly point out, he's square. And eats a lot of eggs.

That station reminds me @drwatford ... how is your elevated modular city coming along? :-O (I saw the blog post, but that's no excuse!)

I'm probably just being my usual paranoid self, but I really hope this ain't just a very good knock off since the LEGO logo is off kilter lolz

If the price of this set on the brickset site is anything to go by, I think I got a good deal.

I'll have to go find a random "Like" to take back  from @SumoLego so his collection will be missing one.

Good luck finding which one with the Like Avatars missing now!

Going through my parts collection to piece together #75997 and seems I am only 2 bricks short, the joy! Much better to order those from [email protected] or BL than paying aftermarket prices for the SDCC set...
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
@PJ76uk, #75997 is awesome & well worth the effort of tracking down the parts if you're not crazy enough to pay the eBay tax like I did. I'm liking the fact that TLG are doing the SDCC with already available parts these days & giving access to the instructions, it means more of the AFOL community have the chance to experience these builds.

@VorpalRyu indeed, I have largely ignored all the exclusive SDCC etc stuff as the aftermarket prices are ridiculous and I would much rather spend the money on a retired set for slightly above RRP! I was lucky that I only needed 2 more parts, looked at [email protected] but out of stock, the part (need 2x same part) is only available in a couple of new sets so might wait a while and see if they stock it, otherwise will try get one of the sets on discount and find a use for the left over parts!

@PJ76uk A little while ago, I did the same for #COMCON033-1 Micro Scale Bag End, although I did end up ordering most of the parts twice, through separate BrickLink orders by mistake!

Definitely the way to go for these exclusives!

@JudgeChuck just wish we could order minifig parts from [email protected] to make those exclusive SDCC minifigures!

Despite some minor hassles through Canada Post, I picked up a package from a fellow enthusiast this morning and I am now three less needed for the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls theme. Such a shame they vanished so quickly, most 2017 sets aren't that hard to come by this late in the year, especially Summer wave product, but I guess LEGO under produced this Theme in anticipation of retiring early.

Er, I'm not sure if double posting is frowned upon however I just finished adding my new Bricktober purchases to my collection and I have 1998 Minifigures in total. Two of which are ghost Minifigures because the database doubled them since they came from a Brickmaster book with a Polybag which both list the Minifigures for some curious reason.
