Today was a good day. Picked up Royal Talon Fighter Attack from TRU Canada, got a free Imperial AT-Hauler Polybag, found two sealed cases of HP on the shelf, opened one and got Percival Graves.
Then I helped out a grandmother locate the Yoda's Hut set and her daughter pick up some Spinners from Ninjago. Whoever is getting those gifts is going to be thrilled.
No time for saving up until October 12th so I can get the Bricktober set that week, find some way to spend 75$ for three consecutive weeks and get JW, MS and HP Offerings from TRU Canada.
Billund, Denmark (26-27th September)
Unfortunately I didn’t get much time to actually have proper look or interact with the experiences at the LEGO House. (I’ll be back for sure!) In general the models were outstanding, the whole concept of the house and the contents were amazing! What caught me by surprise was a magazine I was featured was present in the LEGO House library amongst some great reading material.
The AFOL Event itself was worth the trip, loads of existing friends were present along with familiar faces and people in the AFOL community and LEGO designers. It was mostly about catching up with friends and even LEGO designers and having a laugh with them. I was fortunate enough to meet Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen he was kind enough to be giving out his employee Minifigure!
Majority of the AFOLs were leaving for Skærbæk Fan Weekend once the LEGO House closed early, so I had to also make my way back to the airport around 18:00, although my flight wasn’t until 22:35. Seemingly thinking it will be a quite few hours I was surprised to stubble upon Michael Fuller (LEGO Design Manger) who was grabbing a coffee before he traveled back to London. He was a very kind and entertaining guy, we had a conversation on my day in Billund.
I also started a new MOC but I need to order more dark green parts before continuing.
The next morning I went to a different Target and spent about an hour trying to track it down, but was also unable to find that particular minifigure. At this point I was pretty disappointed.
That evening we decided we were going to go to dinner and then watch the movie. We ended up needing to stop at a nearby Target after dinner, and I decided I'd take some time to try and find that elusive minifigure. Most of the pegs only had 3-4 of the blind bags on them which had me feeling a little hopeless. Alas, we went about searching anyway (I had given her the rest of them already, and told her I had trouble finding the last one).
Luckily for us though, either the second to last or last blind bag on the second to last or last peg we were going to search ended up being Percival Graves! I ended up spending like 2 minutes making sure there was no polyjuice potion or the cane because I was convinced I wasn't going to find this particular minifigure.
So long story short, I managed to find the Percival Graves figure after hours of searching and was therefore able to get the complete set of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Collectible Minifigures as an anniversary gift for my wonderful wife.
I do know not every classroom is at the right hight etc, but this is as close as I can get. Now I'm going to try and make my MOC of the rock at the bottom bigger and also start on Gryffindor tower. Been having sooo much fun!
The last two weeks, however, we thought we had a bit of a breakthrough. He hadn't gotten out of bed at all. Nice and quiet. No noise coming from his room. We figured the phase was over.
Yesterday evening I was helping him settle into bed and I felt something under his pillow. I went to see what it was and he got a huge grin on his face and tried to block me from seeing what it was. I was finally able to see under it and instantly started laughing.
There was a stack of all of my Lego catalogs and a Lego Minifig book we have. He's 6, so far too early to draw comparisons to other magazines one might find under their kids pillow or mattress, but still just caught my funny bone. He's been reading them in bed every night, looking at the sets, reading the descriptions as best he can, and dreaming of his "want list".
I definitely left his room with some pride in addition to a fun story!
I only created my account about a year after first reading the forum so that I could share my experiences on the Legoland Windsor thread! Don't regret it though as I've enjoyed posting pics of my builds recently!
a. Board out the loft
OR
b. Move house
I'm sure that's something those forum members further down the rabbit hole than I am (Hi!) can relate to.
Also is it just me or are the icons of who's liking people's post gone now? All I see are the number of likes.
Debating which to get in order to get the Han Solo mudtrooper: #75220 Sandcrawler, #75221 Imperial Landing Craft, or #75230 Porg. Sandcrawler is a little more money than I should spend this week; I really like the Porg; but I gotta quote The LEGO Movie's Benny: "spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!!!"
For the non-Dutch speakers: K3 is a bubblegum pop girl band with the sole aim of selling merchandise to small kids. But it's a great mosaic and worth seeing in the flesh/brick :)
Also encountered this lady as part of a lovely amusement park setup:
SLW: "Ugh, you are such a man-child. Get that off my kitchen table."
SL: "But... THRAWN!"
SLW: "Yes, your blue Oompa-Loompa and poop-hair Leia are lovely. Off the table, please."
Credit to @LostInTranslation for the build.
Wouldn't Cruella let you drive @Shib?
