^I think there are pills for that?

I've had a similar question about the rubber bands over the course of time. And, even without a solid answer, have removed mine completely and have them in a sealed bag.

With rubber bands, its not always the tension that causes them to break or crumble, but the air simply drying them out over time.

I've considered just replacing them with non-Lego rubber bands to still get the look, but with no concern as to the lifespan.

Black twist-ties also work for display purposes.

I've used non-LEGO rubber bands. I wonder how coloring them with a Sharpie would work- some of the ink might transfer to the LEGO. Experiments are needed!

Thanks to an excellent trade with @SumoLego this happened! Interesting fact, my top 6 sets by part count make up 25% of my total parts.

@M_Boss how does one get the Parts count to show in the header?  Mine shows all the other items, no Parts count.

And if your part count is strictly coming from sets only, those are some big sets.

Yes the majority of sets I own are large and that part count is strictly sets. It is also worth noting that >40 of those sets are CMFs.

Nice.  Had not idea that check box did that.  Is that the only thing it does as part count was already under My Sets anyway?

I didn’t think I’d ever be able to build a Jaguar D-Type, but here we are. I hope this resizing app worked.

(I actually finished and modded this either yesterday or the day before)

^ Very cool!  Although you are about 100 Dr. Stranges short for the Images of Ikonn.  And where's Mantis?

Very happy with the new Knightmare Batman accessory pack. An add-on cloth to make the trench coat a tad bulkier is the only thing I can think of to improve Batman himself (other than modding the gun). The idea of a post-apocalyptic Batman is an awesome one.

Crushed. Just walked by a shop window in Latvia and saw Space Police 3, Aquanauts, and other old, great sets but it was closed. And tomorrow is Sunday and it's closed all day. And I am leaving. I will never know what treasures lie within or be able to take them home with me.

Just leave some cash, and a nice note to explain why using a crowbar was necessary to gain access.

@SumoLego - very true, though much like the Doc will never get his tuna melt, funds have limited me on this one.

Mantis and Drax are currently on the way, and shall be added as soon as they arrive!

I think Wong wanted the tuna melt.  (Which actually sounds good right about now...)  Anyway, be careful - when Drax stays perfectly still, he becomes invisible.

^ He actually comes with the #76107 Ultimate Battle, but as he's perfectly still you can't see him.

LEGO released this pack now, long after BvS came out 'cause they know he'd fit right in the theme of TLM2! #Conspiraciesleftandright #Moneymoneymoney

Just finished some customisations to the Palace Cinema. Really enjoyable build. I've added some festive elements as I'm pretty sure it was Christmas when the family went to see the LOTR movies :o)

lol, I see the nexo knight chaos catapult from some random store on amazon at 4€, by curiosity I look at the shipping cost. more than 11€. anyway I consider it's a red flag if it's on the marketplace.

I'm starting to dread the thought of having to pack up my sets for a move across the US (from CO to NC). We're looking at moving around the beginning of Oct.  I really dont want to have to take all of the sets completely apart since it worries me that bricks will crack/break. I'm going to try putting them in plastic bins with some cushioning so they dont bang around too much. I imagine though I will have quite a bit of repairing to do on the other end.

I'm excited!  The Republic Gunship #75021 I ordered recently just showed up.

Paid more than I was hoping to, but after putting off getting one for longer than I should have I now own one.

    Yea me!

@bandit778 darn you, darn you to heck... :) It'll probably make international news when I hide in the Mall of America until after they close, then steal every medium stone grey piece they have in the PAB wall... I mean the ones in the inaccessible bins above! I'll need to raid every set in the store, too. (I hate that I have to say this, but... just kidding!)

Hate to break it to you, but I’m pretty sure the bricks in those inaccessible bins are just pictures on paper, IIRC. Unless, of course, everyone already knows that, in which case good one! :)

There are real bricks in there... and pictures in the front! Hmmm... it might be a while before anyone notices they're missing. I'll just redistribute the other colors to fill the bins where the greys were...
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,354
As someone who is 6'7" that can easily reach a row or two of the higher PAB bins, I've never felt anything in them. Maybe it's the highest ones like 14' up that are full of rare treats. Masses of Mr. Golds?

Legend has it that you need to fly up to the top row with a helicopter and use a lighthouse to see since there's no natural light.

At the Mall of America store, the bottom 6 (I think) rows are various pieces, but above that are all 2x4s- with a printed photo on the front.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,354
^Good to know! I'll be at the Downtown Disney store in Anaheim in 6ish weeks. I'll have to take a peek in their upper storage bins to see what treasures are hidden. There's bound to be something in the happiest place on earth!

(maybe I'll hide a fig inside the park too and take a page out of @Pitfall69 's book)

If you see a BL store open selling only Mr. Golds and Sand Green 1x8/1x12s, you'll know what's happened.

Haven’t been on here recently as it’s been crazy at work. Had a little time this AM, so finally got all these together. I was able to round up the last Guardians figure a few weeks ago. Sorry for the dumpy display.

Managed to track down a sealed set with Clay's greatx26 grandfather. The dragons are an awesome bonus too lolz. Now to track down the yellow variant of that shield.

Is foxing normal even on manuals in sealed sets?
