What's the big deal with the bumblebee girl? I've got all the animal suit figures (except the ones from series 18, haven't spotted any in my area yet) and bumblebee girl is one of my least favorites. Just asking cuz I've got no idea

^ I think there were only two per case of S10 CMFs.  And there were less cases of S10 CMFs than the more recent (and earlier) releases.
  • BrickByBrickBrickByBrick Member Posts: 747
Ah, ok. I was just wondering what the buzz was about, but rarity makes sense. I didn't even realize there were 2 per case figures in any series

^ I like your pun sir.

Personally I like the animal suit ones (like a lot of other people) and then the bumblebee girl is one in nice bright colours. However I'm really okay now with the keychain. Didn't realise she was also extra rare.

Back to part sorting and counting for me. I was trying to find some specific parts and hadn't realised how lackadaisical I had been with keeping Rebrickable up to date with my loose parts for Non-set building.
Turns out I have 18 PAB cups and 40 odd Bricklink \ Brickowl orders that haven't been added to my parts list.
This may take some time. :(

Thank you. Don't want to bug anyone though so I should probably bee stopping ;)

I love the animal suit figures myself, but the bumblebee girl just didn't quite do it for me. I don't know. I felt like series 10 was one of the weakest ones; only really liked the sea captain, the rest were kinda take it or leave it. Still bought them all, but I was going through a CMF dark age and missed out on most of series 9 and half of 10 in stores, so four were bought on eBay when series 11 was disappearing.

@benbacardi and @snowhitie, i bought a bumblebee girl keychain and used the soldering iron method to remove the spike. It worked a treat. All you have is a small hole in the top of the head, which looks a bit like the accessory holes some figs have, so isn't too bad, IMO.

I personally like bumblebee girl because she reminds me of my friend who wore a very similar costume for her birthday a few years ago :-D

...I felt like series 10 was one of the weakest ones...
Medusa, Bee Girl, Librarian, Roman Soldier, Amazonian, Mime, Grandpa, Warrior, Minuteman... I'd argue it is one of the strongest.

I don't know, maybe it's just me. I like all of the figures, but in just about every series I can think of one or two favorites on a dime, series 10 is one of the only ones I can't do that, and it's not because I love them all. I've got nothing against the figures, they're all good and done pretty well, but when series 10 comes to mind I think of figures like the skydiver and motorcycle mechanic who are kind of blegh.

Personally, I LOVED series 9 and 11 which sandwiched this one, so maybe that's part of it, but it just doesn't excite me. Maybe it was Mr. Gold putting a bad taste in my mouth...

Perhaps, for that very same reason, I'm defensive about S10.

Although, being an apologist, I like just about every series.  Except Simpsons S2.  We didn't need two Milhouses.  And there are some extremely weak entries in TLM, TLBM and TLNM.

I started at series 12 and only skipped the ninjago one (despite ninjago being the most represented theme in my collection) I think the 2 TLBM ones were the best. well, I like fleshies better.

    Have a great trip @Kerre!

I'm having a good Lego-morning too, it's my birthday so got Big Ben from my son and #66097 from my husband. Got started straight away.

My son is trying to get the model-building robot from vernie working.
    Happy Birthday
    #60097 ????? as there is no #66097

@Kerre Have fun! I visited Billund last year, and am very much looking forward to go again in May.

@snowhitie Happy birthday! Enjoy putting Big Ben together. I gave that set to my wife last year; once the Lego room is finally functional it will join the long list of sets we can now put together.

On that Lego room: still full of boxes and no furniture yet, but by Jove this will not stop me from ensuring it's clear what the room's purpose is!

Just finished "cataloging" my collection....haven't told the wife the RRP cost yet! In fact it actually shocked me on two counts, one - how much I actually have, and two - I've realised I'm a bit of a polybag geek!

A late Happy Birthday @snowhitie! Looks awesome with that green NRG dragon.

Already had a great day in Billund today @stlux. With the kids spent from traveling and a great afternoon in Lalandia water park late afternoon, I went for a long walk through town to walk past both the factory and offices. And I'm already buying stuff without having set a foot on TLG-owned premises. Could not resist these two at 25 DKK (75% off) while getting breakfast for tomorrow:

I just finished a video for my first original build on my Youtube channel, but I have videos scheduled every Tuesday and Friday until the end of the month, so it'll be a while before I can post it.

Superbrugsen on Vejlevej. Great for grocery shopping and a vast improvement over Lalandia's dreary holiday park supermarket. Few City sets remained but there were still about 30+ Cars 3 Juniors sets at 75% off on the shelves.

Since you mention it: only minor discounts on the odd current or last year's set at the Lalandia Lego shop; nothing that interests your average Bricksetter.

A fantastic day was had at Legoland Billund today. After the rides closed at 5 pm we joined a bunch of kids and families for a fun and social free-building session in the evening light in front of the massive store near the park entrance.

^ They also still have Ninjago Ice Tank and Kylo Ren Shuttle polys...
  • gmonkey76gmonkey76 Member Posts: 1,829
^My local Target still has about 1000 of the Ice Tank. Was hoping it was a holiday set, and would get reduced. I have a feeling that when the Creator Expert Roller Coaster comes out there will be a run on the lce Tank for the track links. If I had to guess LEGO will be using them for the official motorization of the roller coaster.

@Kerre Great to read you're enjoying yourself over there :D

When we were at the Superbrugsen they only had a few polys... which I dutifully picked up :D

Mine's out of the ice tank. They've got plenty of kylo rens shuttles, albeit the new black version
I assume you're talking about the old one?
Also I appreciate the new lower price on that Lloyd polybag; the only time it was more expensive was when it was $150 on their website....

@SumoLego throw in a couple of #853610 and that could be my local Target in West Haven, CT.

    So many unread posts.

I recently started another collection (non-LEGO) and have dedicated so much time to getting caught up that I’ve neglected most things LEGO. FOR SHAME! But the Infinity War sets and CMF S18 have brought me right back in.

Mrs xwingpilot finally cut the seals on #31313 Mindstorms EV3 this week and has been building with little Miss xwingpilot :)

I meanwhile have only just seen #75181 UCS Y-wing Starfighter! Now two years ago this would have been a day 1 purchase for me, but because I've been posting more on the Collecting both Lego + ..... thread than anywhere else, like #75144 UCS Snowspeeder I think I'm going to have to pass (again). My focus has definitely changed, and my display space has reached its limit.

I guess I did buy Mrs xwingpilot #40120 Valentine's Day Dinner back in February, but that's still not LEGO for me :(

Opened #60097 today, never had 2 big sets on the go before (Big Ben isn't finished) but since this one consist of smaller builds it's perfect for the days when I don't have the energy to concentrate or build to long.

Build a couple of bags and already looking forward to use it as a base for bigger buildings.

There's quite a bit of stickers here,

I don't mind them so much and there are some pretty cool ones.

Last week I bumped into Matthew Ashton and during the TRON signing, he was kind enough to stop by and have a quick chat even though he was in a hurry. I also managed to wave at Hasan Jensen as he walked down with Tom and Drew from BrickBrosUK as they headed down for the signing. I was primary there to say hang around with some of my other AFOL friend not for the signing, although bumping into Matthew Ashton just made my day so it was worth it!

A relaxing sunny day, resting up and packing up trades before our trip to the UK and meet-up with several Bricksetters.

    Now watching A New Hope (we're doing all the SW movies chronologically for Saturday movie nights) and made a truck from #60097;
