Last minute buying session at lunchtime for a present. My daughter was going to a friends birthday party tea/early Halloween after school and needed a present for her LEGO mad friend who loves Halloween. Luckily my local Sainsburys has a stack of #40203 Vampire & bat sets from last year. Sorted

I finally watched The Lego Batman Movie today!! I hardly ever see a film when it comes out new. At my rate of seeing films I will probably see the Ninjago one in about the year 2020.

    GRRRRRRR...

Somewhat familiar. Missed delivery yesterday by 5 minutes, went to post office to pick it up. "It's not here". Indeed, tracking doesn't say it is. The 2 Amazon parcels that were delivered by the same truck at the same moment were, however... They better not have lost it! Not that LEGO won't replace it if it actually got lost, but they'll be out of the VIP set once they do...
Hmmm... the Same statusupdate appeared twice more yesterday, with an update like ‘arrived at local sorting’... this morning and when I Just got home, there was a ‘we’ve missed you’-note in the door...

guess they’ll Be back monday. :s

@Legoboy aha - that's what you do, you read the books in the bookstore so you can keep the ones in your house immaculate?

    @bookmum did you enjoy it?

Thanks to Efferman's stand, I have found space in my living room to display the MF:

I am a little scared of waking up to a loud crash, but no risk, no fun :-)
Seems very stable, but was a #%&$@ to attach with the MF already built!
    I winced looking at this.

^ I didn't see any wall anchors, a wire harness or a plexiglass box.

Do not let Harrison Ford in your house.  Or adopt a cat.

^Harrison Ford will never show up, and my cat lives outside (no joke) and hasn't entered my apartment in ten years (yup, wild and free).
Efferman is definitely a very experienced technic builder, so I place my trust in his abilities...
But yeah, time + gravity =  sagging ( at 47, I know that that is the case), makes me a little nervous.

Never say never! The odds might be long on it alright...up until he kicks in your door, shouts "Never tell me the odds!" while swiping everything from the top shelf onto your floor, then runs out without another word.

Just be vigilant, is all I'm saying.

I thought Batman was OK @snowhitie. Not the best film ever, not the worst. I rented from the library for £1 and daughter already has watched it twice so I suppose that was a £1 well spent. Not sure I am in a hurry to sit down and watch it again soon!! It didn't really have the joke that it's Lego (and possibly could be some kids imaginary fun) - it could of been any style of animation really!!

Feeling a bit confused and wondering if anyone can help me figure something out with Bricklink. Is there an easy way to determine the weight of the items in my cart? I'm trying to estimate shipping as best as I'm able to, but obviously need the overall weight as a starting point. Am I just missing something that is right in front of my face?

    See https://www.bricklink.com/storeSettings.new.asp

If you go to a "item display setting" of a store, as described in the link above, and then enable "Show item weight in cart" it should be able to show the weight unless it disabled in a specific store.

Suffering LEGO show organiser nerves. Everything's done and, as the LEGO facilitator says, 'if you build it and advertise it they will come'. I hope so. If there are any bricksetters near Lincoln please come along to Brick Lincs (see our page on FaceBook) and enjoy the fun.
It also brings a new meaning to the phrase 'bricking it'!  Hope all went well.  I have jokingly said there should be a Facebook group for local Lego show organisers to prevent clashes, give advise and help each other etc but think it might actually be a good idea!

@nexander it did go well. Fun was had by all, exhibitors and visitors alike. It's nerve wracking and tiring but very rewarding all the same. And a FB group sounds like a good idea to me.

@Legoboy - the Ninjago Movie was fab - we both loved it!!  My KFOL came away wanting the red mech - which is awesome because I had let Santa know that Argos had it on sale last month!

All schools are closed here tomorrow due to storm Ophelia. Would love to get a text saying that work was cancelled too, but I'm not holding my breath, would be a perfect day for Lego.  Stay safe Irish/UK peeps.

^ Good stuff.  Having watched it yesterday, Sam screwed things up for Santa and his birthday next month by wanting everything but what he has.  The green dragon thing is the main on so not too expensive to add.

Was my birthday over the weekend (and wedding anniversary, and son's birthday, and FIL's birthday) so I've been pretty busy. However, still managed to get a couple of Lego things - my wife bought me #76085 Battle of Atlantis & #76044  Clash of the Heroes in order to get my DC collection up to snuff (Clash being the cheapest BvS set with Batman in it, and the Atlantis set being the cheapest JL set with a hero I hadn't got yet, with me already having the WW set from her movie). Now I can wait until the Flash and Cyborg movies come along to get them two. I think.

I've gotten the okay from my son to bag up Deep Sea Explorers set to make some room in his Lego cupboards for other stuff, so been breaking them down. Pretty impressed with no lost pieces except a great big orange buoy, guess that got put somewhere else.

At 11.64m, the world record has apparently been broken. Which confuses me a bit, as wasn't last year's DFSF ferry @nexander @thebeermonkey and others built a bit over 12m? Or maybe it's a different category of "longest Lego ship"?

Yup, different category I *think*! the dfds ship is the longest 'supported' ship if I remember correctly.

Certainly not required but I'd personally recommend getting two extra switch packs if possible (giving you a total of six including the set in the cargo train).  This will allow a switched double loop with two sidings or a switched double loop with an interconnecting line OR a switched double loop with a single siding and a reversing loop (which, with the amount of curves you'll end up with will be close to optimal track usage).
I'm starting to think my ex wife is right - I really am a LEGO enabler...

^Come to think of it you'll need seven switches to include a reversing loop - better make that THREE extra switch packs.  And THIS is how it starts...

Finally bought Temple of Airjitzu a couple of days ago. Amazing set and I can't wait to put it together over Christmas. I'm buying a whole heap of sets, plus others that are still in their boxes and will be building them from Christmas day and New Years Day. Giving myself a challenge. A week to put together many thousands of prices.
Lots more sets to come including ordering Ninjago City in the next couple of weeks.

Feeling a little accomplished.  I had the urge to try to rebuild my Blackatron Invader that hasn't been together in well over 20 years and I managed to assemble 2/3rds of it with the correct pieces.  Everything but the cargo hold so far.

I didn't realize how many rare pieces were in that ship alone.  I'm just as surprised I was able to locate them too.  Granted I was digging through a good size unorganized Rubbermaid container for several hours for pieces.  But I managed to pull it together, but felt pretty burned out afterwards.  Maybe this weekend I'll  dig back in and build the last piece.

My Old Fishing Store that was on backorder finally shipped. Excited to build this one finally.

Also finally feeling happy with how a commission I've been working on is coming along. Need to have the design finalized soon, so that crunch has been stressing me out a little.

Somehow I decided it was a good decision to start digging a French Drain for my backyard on Sunday...at 3PM. Apparently I decided it wasn't very important to check the weather before beginning said project. By the end of Sunday evening I had the trenches dug and ready for the next steps.

Then on my way to work yesterday I heard that my area is expecting a massive rain storm that will last for several days beginning today. That left me with only a few hours after work yesterday to finish what I started or face some nasty mud rivers in my backyard for the next few weeks.

At 11:30PM last night I finished what I started. The upside is the water will successfully drain out of my yard. The downside is I feel as if I've been smashed by a fully loaded semi truck.

I'd try to take my mind off the pain by building a nice Lego set or two, but even my fingertips hurt!

If anyone figures out that whole time travel thing, can you go back and inform my Sunday-self that the idea I had was a bad one?

@MAGNINOMINISUMBRA Got two sets of points with the Cargo set. Another two coming from the Grandparents and I may well buy a third set as well as Amazon has them at £11 currently

Got home to find a Lego box on my porch. Unfortunately it looks like someone decided to stab it with a sword (Probably because of our new open carry sword law down here :)   ). I have no idea what could have possibly happened to it, but CS is sending me a new one after I send it back. At least none of my freebies fell out!

Big sets out of the way now the smaller sets and Winter Toyshop included in the wishlist. A few places here are selling it so why not.
