With an added bonus surprise when we leave....
[good job Dad has his own ticket]
guess they’ll Be back monday. :s
No goodie bags for us though
Hope the pair of you have a good time. :)
Meanwhile, somebody needs to get their priorities straight.....
@bookmum did you enjoy it?
I am a little scared of waking up to a loud crash, but no risk, no fun :-)
Seems very stable, but was a #%&$@ to attach with the MF already built!
Do not let Harrison Ford in your house. Or adopt a cat.
Efferman is definitely a very experienced technic builder, so I place my trust in his abilities...
But yeah, time + gravity = sagging ( at 47, I know that that is the case), makes me a little nervous.
Just be vigilant, is all I'm saying.
If you go to a "item display setting" of a store, as described in the link above, and then enable "Show item weight in cart" it should be able to show the weight unless it disabled in a specific store.
I kind of want a set for myself.
All schools are closed here tomorrow due to storm Ophelia. Would love to get a text saying that work was cancelled too, but I'm not holding my breath, would be a perfect day for Lego. Stay safe Irish/UK peeps.
Go Gamecocks!
Fortunately on Saturday visiting a company involved in constructing our house took me close(ish) to Saarbrücken. In the local shopping centre people had been building sections of a ship over the past week in an attempt to break the world record of longest Lego ship. The result:
750,000 bricks - give or take 20,000 I was told :)
At 11.64m, the world record has apparently been broken. Which confuses me a bit, as wasn't last year's DFSF ferry @nexander @thebeermonkey and others built a bit over 12m? Or maybe it's a different category of "longest Lego ship"?
Earlier in the week I had been told that my niece doesn't play with her friends/Elves sets anymore. Me sad :( However there was also good news, as for her birthday (she'll be 9 later this week) she wanted Technic instead. She had recently put somebody's small Technic set together, and had enjoyed that very much. Specifically she wanted #42065 RC Tracked Racer. Who am I to deny her that?!
So a visit to the Saarbrücken Lego Store yielded the below:
I had actually forgotten the calendar voucher for the Ninjago keychain, but was given it anyway when asking nicely :)
Finally then went to see TLNM on Sunday. Not great, but still enjoyed it. All in all a good Lego weekend!
Was my birthday over the weekend (and wedding anniversary, and son's birthday, and FIL's birthday) so I've been pretty busy. However, still managed to get a couple of Lego things - my wife bought me #76085 Battle of Atlantis & #76044 Clash of the Heroes in order to get my DC collection up to snuff (Clash being the cheapest BvS set with Batman in it, and the Atlantis set being the cheapest JL set with a hero I hadn't got yet, with me already having the WW set from her movie). Now I can wait until the Flash and Cyborg movies come along to get them two. I think.
Have you tried 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.?
@Shib I think they forgot an important word in their description: clean-up-afterwards
My son enjoying one of his first meals that he ate all by himself :-)
17 years ago...god time goes by.
Enjoy it while it lasts, once its gone, its gone except for the wonderful memories.
Nobody really wants it, not even MT wants to be seen with it ... or hold it.
Yup, different category I *think*! the dfds ship is the longest 'supported' ship if I remember correctly.
I'm starting to think my ex wife is right - I really am a LEGO enabler...
Lots more sets to come including ordering Ninjago City in the next couple of weeks.
You get up :)
This bit was really fun since we were able to work in tandem, both things were the same except for 2 steps. With me hunting for pieces we managed to keep perfect pace with each other.
Having blagged their way into the closed shop and grabbed a handful of this month's must haves, her friend who'd been carrying all the bags collapsed onto the floor to catch her breath.
They'd done it!!!
[cropped to save her dignity]
I didn't realize how many rare pieces were in that ship alone. I'm just as surprised I was able to locate them too. Granted I was digging through a good size unorganized Rubbermaid container for several hours for pieces. But I managed to pull it together, but felt pretty burned out afterwards. Maybe this weekend I'll dig back in and build the last piece.
Also finally feeling happy with how a commission I've been working on is coming along. Need to have the design finalized soon, so that crunch has been stressing me out a little.
Then on my way to work yesterday I heard that my area is expecting a massive rain storm that will last for several days beginning today. That left me with only a few hours after work yesterday to finish what I started or face some nasty mud rivers in my backyard for the next few weeks.
At 11:30PM last night I finished what I started. The upside is the water will successfully drain out of my yard. The downside is I feel as if I've been smashed by a fully loaded semi truck.
I'd try to take my mind off the pain by building a nice Lego set or two, but even my fingertips hurt!
If anyone figures out that whole time travel thing, can you go back and inform my Sunday-self that the idea I had was a bad one?
@MAGNINOMINISUMBRA Got two sets of points with the Cargo set. Another two coming from the Grandparents and I may well buy a third set as well as Amazon has them at £11 currently
I'm starting to really like the Ferris wheel and if I can find one it's going to be hard to say no to it.
