Finished building the 75172 Y Wing last night and I've been developing a Refueling station/base for it all day long.

Trying to decide if I like the new Winter Train Station. Thought I would get it during double points, but now I’m having second thoughts.

Rubbish 12hr, 500 mile drive kind of day. Got back to the office to find two parcels on my desk. A bricklink order of baseplates for my street. Ordered Sunday, paid Monday, delivered Tuesday. And a cool Microfighter for my collection from @snowhitie for winning the September building contest

    Cheered right up now.

@flord, I'm familiar with the struggle. I ended up pulling the trigger on it. I have a mod in mind to expand the back to provide some additional space and it should only end up costing a few more bucks to do it.

I sort of feel like I drank the Winter Village kool-aid and am committed to all the sets at this point (and considering I only just started collecting them earlier this year, I'll consider it a particularly potent kool-aid).

I'm not enough of a mod/MOCer to be able to build an alternative that I'd be happy with at this point.

    @LostInTranslation
Plenty of room in the Ninjago Play and Display case for up to 48 minifigures before it really gets crowded. I used a row of 2x4 Duplo bricks topped with regular 2x4 bricks so the minifigures in the second and fourth rows are easily visible.

^I'm not sure that's available in the UK? It looks good but I actually meant to fully brick build something, to make it something I could display at a show. @Mrs_Wobblehead did an amazing Team GB brick built display that I saw at a show somewhere (miss you and @pricey73  by the way!)
I'm thinking maybe 6x6 plates with a themed brick backdrop that can be joined together by friction pins and Technic bricks. A bit like the Star Wars minifigure polybags lately.
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,828
^Sounds neat. Please post some pics when you get it put together. I've tried a bunch of different displays, and it is always fun to see what other folks have come up with.

(Off-topic musing: what would be the collective noun for Batmen?)
    Batmans.  Or Batmanses.  Batmanses's...

^Those are just possibilities for regular plurals. I mean a fun collective noun. Like a kaleidoscope of butterflies or a parliament of owls or a murder of crows. Or in my suggestion: a posturing of Batmen.

The collective noun for bats is a colony. A colony of Batmen?

Or how about an Adam West of Batmen?

Crap-ton can't be used as a collective as its a quantative measurement.  It is also commonly confused with a f@ck-ton which is quantatively greater by several orders of magnitude.  When you add to this the fact that you'll need to know whether you're dealing with either a metric or imperial crap/f#ck- ton and confusion is sure to abound!
I do like a brooding of Batmen.  My personal suggestions include a beatdown or an asylum.
You could also run with a 'Deeply rooted psychiatric condition presenting as a predisposition for violent, anti social behaviour caused by unresolved childhood trauma' of Batmen but it just doesn't have the same ring to it...

@snowhitie Received yesterday's S@H also already today. It used to take 1-3 days for the order to even leave the warehouse.
It's still the same K+H warehouse in Geel, so not sure what changed. I'm not complaining though!

However my #40178 VIP set did arrive in the same box as the #10243 Parisian Restaurant I ordered. Not sure why that was not the case for you.

Ordered a bucketload of stuff, and am very anxious to know when the BnP and PaB-parts of my order will ship/arrive. Really eager for them cause I want to continu my Winter Village (a bit premature, I know...) and my first MOC.

Luckily I've still got booklet 2 of the #10235 Winter Village Market to build.
  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
@stlux I don't really understand either, plusb they came from the same place (geel). They might not have wanted to overload the box as to not get dents in the big boxes,  it would have been a bit of a squeeze I guess (there was a Brickheadz as well, not included in the picture). Good they are thinking about those things.
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
@eMJeeNL Looking at my order history from this year, it usually takes a bit over a week for BnP/PaB orders to ship. Then add a couple of days for them to arrive; they ship in a Deutsche Post padded envelope.

Thanks. Actually, that is also my experience (from a couple of weeks ago), but currently the status on the PaB-part of my order is "Backordered", and the BnP is "In Process". So I'm afraid at least the PaB-part will be a little later than previous experience has proven to be usual.

At least Geel is only 60kms away, so the prepackaged part should make its way here quickly :)

Well, Bricks To The Past has 2000 minifigs on their display at STEAM and it didn't look like many at all. So it'll be fine, I'm sure ;)

Another fairly rubbish day at work, but it was 10 minutes from the Watford LEGO shop. Used my calendar voucher to get the freebie Ninjago keyring. So not all bad.

Oh and #60052 was waiting for me in the office when I got back. With Nectar points from eBay it only cost me £70. Box is little scuffed and the seals had unstuck which set the alarm bells ringing.....but a quick check shows everything is there. Just got to wait until Christmas Day now until my daughter can unwrap it!

Due to still having dodgy sight issues because of having to use my old glasses for a bit and the fact that I'm decorating the place for Halloween, I decided I may as well build the the Halloween seasonal sets from the last three years. It given me something to build and there are no pesky stickers that I can't see to put on straight.
The up side is that I have a new pair of specs on order,  the down side was there is rather a large spectacle shaped hole it what was my Lego budget for this month. At least I'll be able to see properly again so normal building can resume in about a week's time. :)

Hit 1,800 different minifigs owned today. I don’t know whether I should be proud or disgusted. Probably a little of both. On one hand, I have very little still on my wanted list. On the other, 2,000 sounds like a nice, round number to push toward. Regardless, I need a bigger closet for the ever-growing army.
Your post prompted me to check on my minifigures collection.

Right now I'm at 2872 unique (6545 total), meaning will need another 128 unique figures to hit 3K.

A good excuse to start getting the CMF for Batman Movie, Disney, Ninjago, and series 15 onwards.

I am shocked, shocked I tell you, Fed Ex delivered my S&H order with the free VIP set this morning before Breakfast when it was not to arrive until Friday, I was understandably surprised.

It was never this fast before, did LEGO open up a distribution center in Canada to better accommodate online orders? Because when I ordered in the past few years I wound up getting my order through the States which took marginally longer indeed.

Ah well, built the Resistance Trooper Battle Pack and opened the Iconic Cave, about to build the Imperial Trooper Battle Pack from Rogue One, it was retiring soon so I had to include it in the order, for obvious reasons. It shall definitely be an enjoyable day of Star Wars building. Just need to figure out how to open the VIP set without damaging the bag so I can put it aside with the rest of my open polybags.

Not sure what to do with the duplicate Lloyd I wound up with, perhaps a trade for the Kendo version or another Minifigure polybag is in order in the not too distant future.

Suffering LEGO show organiser nerves. Everything's done and, as the LEGO facilitator says, 'if you build it and advertise it they will come'. I hope so. If there are any bricksetters near Lincoln please come along to Brick Lincs (see our page on FaceBook) and enjoy the fun.

Somewhat familiar. Missed delivery yesterday by 5 minutes, went to post office to pick it up. "It's not here". Indeed, tracking doesn't say it is. The 2 Amazon parcels that were delivered by the same truck at the same moment were, however... They better not have lost it! Not that LEGO won't replace it if it actually got lost, but they'll be out of the VIP set once they do...
