Just finished building 9468 Vampyre Castle and wishing I'd bought the Vampyre Hearse along with it. Maybe after surgery Thursday hubby will feel sorry for me and buy it .

@samiam391 - Thanks a lot! I'm still ecstatic thinking about it, singing & dancing. Out of context it sure does sound like a lot, like I sold 1,000 UCS Falcons or something lol. But I'm in biotech, so it was a contract to make an experimental drug for diabetes. No need for more sales after this, takes the pressure off for the next half year to year (long production cycles). More time for Lego, hooray!

Congrats @BrickDancer! Celebrate and buy some high value discontinued sets! But don't use it all, save some. ;)

^Metaphorically speaking @LegobrandonCP, I counted my eggs before they hatched. =) I'm about to start Taj Mahal and UCS TIE Advance (MISB) just arrived in the mail today, last BL package for UCS Falcon also. But now you got me thinking, I might just get UCS R2 for a cherry on top! Celebrating for weeks to come yay!!!

After months of watching auctions for 6285 Black Seas Barracuda with dreams of owning the set I craved as a child, I finally pulled the trigger this morning. Jumped on a BIN of $140 on ebay for a used copy with the original box and instructions, along with a bonus 6245 in its box. Seller noted four piece substitutions, all of which should be easy to replace. Probably paid a litte more than I should have, but could not pass up a chance to get this set with the box.

Of course, this only allows me to move my obsessions on to the Skull's Eye Schooner...

Built Batman and Robin PAB Cup . . . Boring. I'd rather it had been the Vampyre Hearse!

Just finished building my Green Grocer. So beautiful. I still can't quite believe I actually managed to get my hands on one of these.

To follow on the GG talk, I'm going back and forth today between modeling GG in LDD and working on the inventorying of all the "hard to classify" parts from my bulk LEGO. Wheels, vehicle bases, panels, windows, doors, railings etc. The stuff that doesnt fit the brick, plate, tile or technic part categories.

    Status: Disappointed in myself..
Thought I had all going when "feeling the bags" of the minifigs.
In best belief, I put a bag from series 6 in the cart, was very convinced that it was Lady Liberty. But no, it was a minotaur.. To be honest I actually got two of those, thought I was sure of at least one of them being Lady Liberty.
On the positive side, I got the Genie and the Bandit, again just from feeling on the bags.

Recovering from sore thumbs and a strained forearm tendon - thanks to excessive "feeling" of the mini figures bags!

Built Shelob Attack last night. Nice set, nice minifigures (Frodo, Sam and Gollum) and a really well-designed Shelob. And no stickers :-)

IMO 27 EUR RRP is pretty expensive for what you actually get though.

Restless - surgery tomorrow on right hand. Wishing I had the Vampyre Hearse to build. Should head for bed but would only toss and turn. Normally a bit of a snack will help me fall asleep but can't eat anything either, so I'm hear in the computer room where I'm not tempted by food and drink reading about the Lego I wish I were building!
  • red237red237 Member Posts: 294
Good luck Shellz. I think the Vampyre Hearse is just what you need for rehab therapy on that hand!

Just signed up & registered for Brickfair 2013 in New Hampshire. Whoo hoo!

This is the equivalent of The Lego Show (2 public days, 4 AFOL days, etc), so I am very excited, as I couldn't come to that

Now I have some Lord of The Rings Lego, I plan to start to do a MOC of a Warg for the Goblins to ride. In fact, I will be building at least 3.

Disassembled and boxed away 4 LOTR sets to make room to build others. Still need to take apart Orc Forge and QAR and then Helm's Deep goes up next to my mini modulars. Watch out for giant Uruks, residents of mini lego street! Aaaaaaagh! Right now my build pile is Helm's Deep, Town Hall, Joust, and the X-wing. That will keep me going for a bit. Next to buy are Jabba's Palace & Desert Skiff, Sopwith Camel, and Haunted House.
  • caperberrycaperberry LondonMember Posts: 2,226
Knocked Sopwith Camel off table when dusting. Very cross.

    "On hold"

Having just awakened from the Dark Ages, I have spent WAY too much on Lego this year. (on a side note: is there a name for this post-dark age overspending in the beginning?)

Now, I'll wait for the Spider-Man set, some of the new Star Wars, and perhaps any really good deals I see online. I need to use some self restraint and stop buying things spontaneously.

Snap! I've gone nuts since getting back in to LEGO last year. The worst thing is combining the brickset database with ebay.

Completed not 1, but 3 Lego Wargs for the LOTR Goblins to ride.

Buying back boxes to sets I own. I really did throw money into the trash bin when I chucked them all out, now paying money to get them back =(

Mosaic is finished, now we work on the buildings.

Was at a book store and they had the HP Express for 50% off original price ($109). But the box has been opened and taped shut again and there is a little note saying "some parts are missing". Pondering weather or not I should buy this risking $55. Thoughts?
  • samiam391samiam391 A Log Cabin in KY, United StatesMember Posts: 4,299
@LegobrandonCP- I'd buy it. Maybe when you take it up to the front desk, see if you can get a little more than 50% off. Doesn't hurt to try.

Even if you end up selling it for parts/pieces (granted that you have at least most of the parts) you should easily recuperate your $55 and make a little in the process.

^^Any chance you can weigh it @LegobrandonCP?
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP CanadaMember Posts: 1,912
@BrickDancer It seemed pretty heavy, but didn't hold a new one next to it. So not sure.

@samiam391 Haggling, LOL. Don't sell parts or sets, but I guess the price isn't too bad even for parts.

@red237 and @samiam391 Thank you so much! Surgery did go as planned. Hubby went to TRU for the Vampyre Hearse and grocery store. Managed to update my Lego calender one handed today so hubby figured if I could manage that I could build the hearse. Should be back with it any time.

    ^ Have fun!

Just built Vampyre Hearse and The Mummy. Only a couple things I couldn't do with just one hand. Hubby will apply the sticker in the morning so I can put the hood on the hearse. Time to take a pain pill and call it a night in just a few.

    Happy as Larry today.
I built my Grand Emporium. I found the interior was a bit empty so I added some gold and trinkets and 3 shoppers from an Isla de Muerta.
Then added a kitchenware section with a Coffee machine, Croissant maker and Pizza Oven from the City Alarm game. Also added a remote control helicopter to the toy section, along with a toy car and a boxed lego Post office, Police station and Train set. :)
I also used the mini policemen and robbers as inflatible punchbag toys. :)
Last but not least I found room under the ground floor escalator for a safe with lots of 100 pound notes. :) :) :)

^Just added another to the UCS collection: TIE Interceptor #7181

Excellent used copy for $120, complete with unapplied sticker and instructions; but no box. Happy camper from a nice Flea-bay find =)

Also picked up a Tantive IV #10198 for $130 as new but unsealed. It's been a good Original Trilogy day.

Good to see I'm not the only one going bankrupt after coming out of the dark age ;)

Anxious for tomorrow, when Death Star, Medieval Market Village, TIE Fighter and two Endor Battle Packs should arrive at my doorstep :) Too bad I just watched the Star Wars "hexology" a few weeks back, would've been a good backdrop for some Death Star building! I reckon I'm gonna start with MMV first though, and then TF. Can't wait!
