Received my first LotR set (Mines of Moria) this morning from Amazon.de.
Looks great - some great minifigs.
Can't wait to get it built :-)

Just bought myself Log Cabin (5766), Ewok Attack (7956), Endor Rebel Trooper + Imperial Trooper (9489), Imperial V-Wing Fighter (7915) and 1 series 7 minifig (got the Evil Knight I wanted).
Also ordered Rogue Shadow (7672), should be here monday.
That was just for myself, got my GF a Police Helicopter Limited Edition (3658), it was on sale at the local supermarket so I couldn't resist.

My Mum's on holiday and having today in Brighton. So I ask if she would go to the Lego shop, which she does. I then ring her while she's in there to see what they have, and she say's you would love it in here, yes I would love to be there. Then she doesn't buy anything, oh well at least she went in :)

CC complete! Looks marvelous up on the shelf and I'm so happy to have it in the collection.

Now to design an interior for at least the first floor. I kind of wish I'd subbed out the baseplate for a non-green version. Not exactly the best looking floor.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
Congrats @iccarus! It's worth the effort, isn't it?

Thought the same thing about the first floor, but if you get GG you'll notice that's the first thing they fixed and boy did they fix it well.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^^ I designed my custom CC with the first floor being kind of an ice cream shop. Nothing too elaborate, just a standing freezer and an ice cream counter freezer. Here's a cutaway pic.

Bricklinking Cafe Corner. Used atxdad's matlab script with much success. One of the orders had mostly used parts. Now, I've received used parts and was very impressed with the condition for the most part. This one order had VERY scuffed pieces, doors scratched up (although I expected that) and some white and black gunk on some of the pieces. I probably won't be able to use any of them for CC so I'll probably have to reorder from someone else (probably multiple people). It's a little aggravating. Some of the pieces were dark blue, sand green, dark green and dark red which were mostly just to build up a small order but still.... used is used I guess.

Back to rebuilding my brickstore wantlist.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
@BrickDancer I am very happy with the finished product, even with the few minor substitutions I needed to make.

@Graphite That looks great. I have some ideas for a basic coffee shop counter. I should be able to build most of it with spare parts I have, although I need to pick up some tiles for the flooring. I'm trying to figure out a good color scheme though.

@Bosstone100 I avoid ordering used parts when possible. It added a bit to the cost of the CC, but it made it feel like building a new set in the end.
  • caperberrycaperberry Member Posts: 2,226
@Bosstone100 using atxdad's program means you're saving money so a little over ordering on Used is wise.

Ordered Death Star. I've entered the dark side or something given how silly doing it was given my finances, even if the deal was quite good!

Dismantled Imperial Flagship, Millennium Falcon, Hogwarts Castle and Battle of Endor - my hands hurt now!

Spoiled . . .just a bit . . . Got the Vampyre Castle and Ghost Train from Monster Fighters and the small Brickley I've been wanting. Hubster got the Mining 4X4 and the Excavator Hauler. I also grabbed the coasters which we'll actually use, oh, and the Batman & Robin PAB.

Extremely hyper-excited cos I've got myself a 99% complete Green Grocer at an eminently reasonable (to me) price !!!
  • LegopantsLegopants Member Posts: 2,097
Half way through building the Mines of Moria set. Lots of stickers :-S
Great minifigs though. Really love the Cave Troll.
  • KulshanGirlKulshanGirl Member Posts: 67
Just over halfway through building the mini-modulars. I was kind of meh about this one, but I must say ... this is a totally charmng set. Much smaller and much more intricate than the pictures look. If you're on the fence about it, GO GET IT! :) I want to build a whole world in this scale now.
  • ErnstErnst Member Posts: 133
Just finished building the Trolls' Mountain Fortress, definitly a great Castle again. Now even more happy I found it !

Spent 8 hrs. yesterday sorting and the joy continues today . . . have got to quit buying sets and just dumping them in a box!!!
  • LaziterLaziter Member Posts: 76
Built Rogue Shadow and bought 10kg random bricks which I now need to get sorted out into boxes. Found a rare indian horse in the lot (the painted brown horse).
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
Status: Converted! Learned why it's smart to keep original boxes and changing my 'binning' ways starting today. Reason: Big sets need more than a couple Ziplocs to put into storage.

Spent weekend doing Spring cleaning and disassembling display sets to make way for the new pieces.

Down goes: Imperial Shuttle, Queen Anne, Quinjet, Architecture Whitehouse, and almost the Fire Temple (GF vetoed that choice).

Up goes: Taj Mahal, VW Beetle, Batman Tumbler

Also, just bought the gf a Creator Beach House (#4996) to fill out her Summer Beach Town layout. Should make her a happy little gal for the Fourth.

Built 9467 Monster Fighters Ghost Train last night, going to build 9468 Vampyre Castle today because Thursday the surgeon will be scraping growths off the tendon in my right hand and I won't be able to do much building for a few weeks! Likely won't be on line much for the first day or two after surgery either.

Exhausted after a day of volunteering. Thumbs are sore after pushing in mosaic plates and feet are sore from standing all day. Glad to be home! :)

    @LegobrandonCP- Where are you volunteering?

A happy day after gaining another set of Cloud City minifigures for my collection! :)

I thought it would be fun at first. But after standing all day and pushing plates into baseplates, not as fun as one would think. lol ;)

Built the Heavy-Lift Helicopter yesterday with my four year old son. Loved it. Took it into the swimming pool for some Water Rescues. Anyone know how best to clean water spots off Lego?

Deciding which Lego to build next from my recent haul! The Orc Forge, Bikini Bottom Undersea Party or Sith Nightspeeder!?
  • BlueTaylorBlueTaylor Member Posts: 51
Ordered Death Star. I've entered the dark side or something given how silly doing it was given my finances, even if the deal was quite good!
I feel like this every time I buy a big set, then don't look at my bank account until my pay goes in! D:

Is jealous of @BlueTaylor and the Bikini Bottom Undersea Party.

Another successful trading for minifigure evening, as I was able to acquire 3 more Kashyyyks and 4 more Greedos!
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
The Batman Tumbler was a nice little gem to build of about 1.5 hours. Great use of slopes in odd intersecting ways, sturdy feel to the vehicle, and it looks so mean in all black. Definitely nice and just in time for Dark Knight Rises...
  • LegopantsLegopants Member Posts: 2,097
Managed to get a couple of LotR Shelob Attack sets for €14.99 (instead of €26.99) from my local toyshop thanks to a price-tagging error :-)
  • littletokilittletoki Member Posts: 519
Firmly said a few days ago "No more buying Lego for the next few months".

And then as we were sorting through some of our bulk purchases, we added, "Especially through Craigslist".

This lasted all of 3 days.

Finished building the helms deep set yesterday, completing the last of the LOTR sets. Now trying to figure out where I can find more room to display what I'm going to build next, and deciding what I'm going to build. Death Star? SSD? Modulars? Battle of Endor display? Battle of hoth display? Too much Lego, too little time....

Annoyed. I just opened the 4867 Hogwarts that I picked up on Kmart's clearance a while back, and it is missing a whole inner bag. It was replaced with a duplicate of one of the other inner bags. Hope that LEGO CS will be willing to send me the 29 replacement parts!
  • caperberrycaperberry Member Posts: 2,226
Just had a mega-shopping spree on amazon.es. I needed that.
@Pepper spookily my Cursed Cobra Statue I started tonight seems to be missing a bag. I did open the box last week though... maybe it fell out somewhere... heaven help me if I put it in the 'to be sorted' box, I'll never find it...

Just won a sealed 7839 Car Transporter Depot for a reasonable price on eBay. I'll probably keep this set sealed, which is rare for me.
