Not the only unique thing... it's just one of the unique things about this site...it's why i joined over the 'others'..and to start picking it apart because someone got a bit huffy over the extra 1000th of a second it would take to scroll past the 'very' occasional meme or gif on a particular rumour thread seems a little pointless..if its not pornographic..if its not religious..if its not bullying then its not a problem, how on earth could it be...
My LEGO Status the past few days, playing more LEGO Star Wars TFA after leaving it for a time. I always have to, TT make excellent games, but they also make excellent enablers. Every time I play a LEGO TT Video Game it makes me want to buy more LEGO Product, and LEGO Star Wars has become highly expensive since the new movies hit making it nearly impossible to continue buying as willy-nilly as I did in the past.
I fear the Marvel games when I get to them in the next little while will do just as well. AFOLS be warned, if you buy your kids a LEGO TT Video Game expect a huge jump in demand for models to build after they start playing.
I must finish it before I buy The NASA rocket on June 1st.
whats the reason for your userpic change?
For my part, I don't mind them when they actually add to the topic being discussed. An example I could think of is after the Carousel designer video with the space slug, if someone had posted a picture of Boromir with a caption of "A Lego designer does not simply carry a cardboard space slug for no reason." I would have found that highly amusing and adding to the conversation.
On the other hand, as that thread definitely seems to be the root cause of this issue, I found that it got a bit obnoxious. For my part, it did sort of seem like those that already had the UCS Millennium Falcon were hoping that another would not be forthcoming, and a lot of posts feel more like trying to dash people's hopes than add meaningful discussion. I never saw what purpose that really served. What's wrong with letting a bunch of people hope for something and discuss what they'd like to see should it happen?
I think a more reasonable solution is that admins/mods simply step in when something gets out of hand. I think a total ban outside of the Off-Topic section was a bit of an overreaction, but at the same time I'm noticing a lot of people overreacting to the new policy as well. Maybe I'm just an idealist, but Huw has always seemed very reasonable to me and I think some simple conversation would lead to a solution that everyone can agree on. Instead, I'm noticing a lot of overreaction, instead of "This seems a bit much, perhaps we could discuss a better solution? For example, what if we used this policy instead..."
Just my personal thoughts on the matter.
It's a big deal when you come to the realization that doing a MOC requires a lot of work, parts, effort, and detailing. After somewhat finishing the first floor of my #31050 MOC, I still need floor tiling (I had never realized how important it was until yesterday, when I felt the building needed something else) and seating (oddly, I don't find it easy).
However, to know that you really created something somewhat unique (after all, it's a MOD/MOC of #31050) it's extremely gratifying.
A question for all of you...overall, in y'alls experience, is it really that much cheaper to buy bricks from Bricklink than LEGO's PAB?
It really just comes down to what color and size tiles you want. Less popular (often the bright ones) will be cheaper on BL. For more in demand colors like dark stone grey I always use bricks and pieces or PAB as it is cheaper there.
Also, if you want a lot of certain parts, you might have to take out several orders from BL, all requiring P&P and hassle tracking them and so on. If the price difference isn't huge on S@H, I'll go there to save effort.
Mine arrived today too, debating if I should open them both and make a larger landing platform!
For anyone wondering, it's a replica from an Atlante de Tula, in the Parque Nacional de Tula, in Tula de Allende, state of Hidalgo, in Mexico.
Then @Pitfall69 and @SumoLego weren't involved!
My 2 x Scarif + R2 order arrived yesterday too. And I have the intention of combining them into one. Whether I get around to it is a different matter ;)
Fondling completed.
Series 17 debagged and ready for display :-)
(Butterfly Girl is still my fave.)
I will be moving in about 2 months, and there`s a lot of un-building to do. I`m afraid that if I move them built, a whole bunch of bits and pieces will be lost. It`s a tiresome and un-fun work and my fingers hurt like hell after 4 hours of breaking down sets. And I don`t think I did even 10%.
On the other hand, I`m looking forward to building them back once I move, and finding them new display spaces and organize them better.
Except to those very rare collectors of deformed or mis-made bricks.
Quality control at TLG usually sends them back to the melting pot for re-casting ....
It's rare but I had a similar issue with an element in Palace Cinema and with a white plate in the Snowman from a few xmas' ago.
Let LEGO know. They'll want to trace that back and ensure it's even rarer - ie not to occur again. They'll very likely thank you too aswell as replacing it for you.

Houston, we.... ended up working on that for a lot longer than we had anticipated.
Perhaps it's my excitement over the complete lack of stickers and the abundance of printed parts, but I would highly recommend this set to anyone. The build, while somewhat repetitive, is very enjoyable.
The picture does not due the final product justice, it's absolutely stunning and an excellent rendition of the Saturn V.
The build is very intricate in places. With some good new techniques and parts. I like the bits that are inspired by previous modular buildings too. :)
No helicopter.
Check out @DeMontes review over at New Elementary...
It was originally one case - it just grew to three recently.
A crowbar is not very subtle now is it?...what you need is a glass cutter or the ability to pick locks...
At least your TRU looks stocked. Mine always looks like the bread isle before a natural disaster.
Seems just silly to put locked glasses.
I know there's quite a few members here from there so I want to wish everyone a lot of strength. Hope your family isn't affected, but I know that something like this shakes up the whole community. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
^Horrific.
Last night I had many emotions....anger...sadness. I have been very reluctant to post in the Forum for obvious reasons, but I decided to comment on this tragedy. It is important for our community to be there for others in need. I feel for the people and their families. Prayers for all that were affected.
I'm still very much planning to attend the Bricktastic event in Manchester at the start of July. No *** terrorist will keep me from supporting Fairy Bricks and see @Paperballpark's awesome Palace of Westminster's MOC.
